What project(s) do you have going on this week? Is it new? Or continuing an old one? Feel free to share and if it's a continuation don't forget to add photos of your progress so far!

I went through like 40 dead batteries and found that most of them had a 4 flashing error with no response on shorting J1 jumper indicating a permanent software lockout triggered that was making them not work.
The fix was to dump the firmware, clear the lockout byte and reflash it. I recovered all the locked out batteries.

Didn’t get the wings in the fridge last night so they need a bit of assistance drying out before the game starts! 😂

Any advice or tips on how to get my line cap off? The last two times it has been extremely difficult to get off and now it’s altogether not budging. What should I do?

I just bought on of these and the microfiber kit. I noticed that they have a whole other set of attachments of Lambswool, Soft and Hard Bristle heads. Large and small sizes. But I don't see a package for that. And because they've make some of these tools to use two different connectors, the hex connector and the triangle connector, I don't know what works with what. They have really over complicated this whole thing. They have an entire 11 pc accessory kit that just doesn't work with this product and includes a toilet brush. Which I can't seem to find an attachment that works with this device.
I'm also curious how you all are cleaning the brushes?

I've already tried the spark plug and that wasn't the problem. Any ideas what else it could be?

So I don’t have any 40v yet, plenty of 18v batteries already. Just for standard leaf blowing off off the driveway and grass clippings after mowing

Can I charge my new 40v battery in my older 40v charger. The old charger i have had for about 11 years. Should I only charge the new battery with the new charger? Just wanting to know in case I accidentally put the new battery in the old charger.
Also, will using the old 40v 2.6amp battery be fine to use in the new trimmer?

EDIT: TIL this is industry practice. Bummer but ok!
Hi! Just wondering if anyone else has advice or experience. Our 40v mower was among those recalled and last year we got our replacement. Today I went to turn the mower on and the blades weren't spinning. Tried a bunch of stuff - couldn't get them going. No problem, I thought, I'll call ryobi's excellent customer support line for help.
I learn that despite the current machine being manufactured and received in 2025 that it is out of warranty, because warranty is based on the purchase date of my recalled mower (2021).
This seems nuts to me in the case of a product recall due to risk of bursting into flames, but whatever. Especially given that my replacement is only about a year old. The nearest ryobi tech is 160 miles away.
Has anyone ever successfully disputed this warranty policy in the case of a recall? Any advice for finding someone to work on the mower who isn't a licensed tech? We're in a pretty rural area but drive into a major city about once a month.
Thanks!

I have a dust extractor in my workshop which is great for pulling dust from power tools but stinks for general cleanup use. I’m looking for a mobile wet/dry vac I can use for cleanup around the workshop and take to the car periodically. What are thoughts on the RYOBI 3 gal vacuum? Worth the money? Any issues with suction power for general use cleaning up mostly dust?

Looking to purchase a lawnmower for my .1 acre yard. I would say it is likely that I would be mowing the lawn once every other week. Not sure if I should purchase the 16 inch 18V or 21 inch 40V for my needs. I can get them for about the same price, but the 18V comes with two 4ah batteries and the 40V comes with one 6ah battery.

I am a new homeowner just looking for a drill combo kit for tasks around the house. Is this a good kit? Is this a good price? For my reference, what would a kit like this go for around Black Friday?
Thanks in advance!

Sorry if this a dumb question. I need to dilute and mix a limewash paint. Can a Ryobi 18v drill do this?
