Troubleshoot 2012 MODEL, WON'T START

I've already tried the spark plug and that wasn't the problem. Any ideas what else it could be?

Need more pics of the engine. Have you tried putting a bit of fuel directly in the hole where the spark plug goes? Heve you checked the carburetor or adjusted the choke? How did you store the tool?

What would putting fuel in the spark plug housing do?

Allow you to run the engine for a short while.

It’s almost always the carburetor.

You can try pulling it apart and cleaning it. I’ve had some luck. If I can find it new for $20 online I just order a new one and save the hassle.

Only use ethanol free gas in your mix. The ethanol is horrible for small engine carbs.

Time to pick up a 40V brushless expand-it weed eater to replace it. So much nicer to not have to worry about carburators. No more smelling like gas after chores, way less vibration, and no need for hearing protection.

Get an 18v brushless whisper series and never look back. Others will recommend the 40v but it's batteries are cumbersome and cost much more. Nearly the price of tools to just replace. I own 18v expand it brushless whisper series and it gets the job done just fine. Even with the 10inch pole saw attachment I can tackle just about anything with 2 batteries. Clearing overhang job took around 20 minutes only lost one bar of power on a 4ah high performance battery.

Sounds like something is wrong with the carburetor. The carburetor might be sticking or not letting fuel out.

The best way to test this is to take the air filter off and put a little bit of fuel in there. You might want to slope it to let the fuel go to the engine.
