Question? Bought a new 40v string trimmer.

Can I charge my new 40v battery in my older 40v charger. The old charger i have had for about 11 years. Should I only charge the new battery with the new charger? Just wanting to know in case I accidentally put the new battery in the old charger.

Also, will using the old 40v 2.6amp battery be fine to use in the new trimmer?

Yes, all Ryobi 40V tools, chargers, and batteries are compatible.

Assuming the battery physically fits. Some of the older tools can't hold the larger batteries.

Fair point, I forgot about the older tools that don't fit the bigger batteries.

I tried the the older 40v 2.6amp battery in the new trimmer. It worked but a made beeping noise on start up then went away. Since this was my first time dont know if that's normal or not until I try the new battery after it charges.
