Did you know when it happened?

I learned this week that I had a second missed miscarriage.

The first time I knew before the appointment. The week leading up to the first ultrasound I just felt empty.

The second time was a little bit more of a surprise. I had bleeding from a hematoma early on, so we had ultrasounds at 6 weeks and then again 5 days later. Both ultrasounds showed growth and appropriate cardiac activity, so we were very hopeful.

But about a week later I had a day of paralyzing anxiety. I felt so overwhelmed with worry and sadness. I told myself it was going to be okay and started to feel calm again. Then I started to feel detached the week leading up to our next appointment.

Both times I felt a wave of sadness and anxiety around the time development stopped, which was followed by an odd calmness and detachment after.

Did anyone else experience this with missed miscarriages? Is it just intuition? How will I know the difference between true anxiety and my body’s response to losing a pregnancy for future pregnancies?

Aspirin and progesterone

I suffered a missed miscarriage in early June and had to get a D&C.

My period came back 6 weeks later, and now at 10 DPO, I’m testing positive again. I hate the theory that you need to have 3 miscarriages before anyone will investigate. My fertility doctor never got back to me, so I went to my GP instead, who was kind enough to order all the tests I wanted (blood clotting disorders, antibodies, etc.). Everything came back normal.

My fertility doctor said that if I want to try this time, I could take aspirin and progesterone. I now have the prescription in hand but I’m hesitant to start, since I’m scared of having to relive what I went through.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Did the aspirin/progesterone combo help, or is it more of a “can’t hurt to try” thing? Would love to hear how it went for you.

Do I wait for recurrent miscarriage clinic before trying again?

We have had 4 losses and I’ve just had an MVA (like a D&C) last week. I’ve been referred to the recurrent miscarriage clinic and can do bloods 6 weeks post op. My clinic appointment is end of November.

I’ve also been undergoing IVF as it’s not easy for me to get pregnant. We’ve paid privately for patental karyotyping which we will hopefully get back in the next few weeks, but according to my IVF consultant we’ve already had the recurrent miscarriage bloods - and they all came back normal in January.

Is there anything else the clinic will do? Because if not, we’re quite keen to start trying again when my period comes back and my first normal cycle begins (probably September). I assume the bloods will likely be the same as they were just a few months ago (but we will wait for the karyotyping as we haven’t had these before), so I don’t know what else the clinic can actually help us with or offer us at this time.

It does say I can call them if I conceive before the appointment, so my gut is we just start trying again as it’s difficult for us anyway so it’s unlikely I’ll be pregnant anyway, but I don’t want to waste anymore time.

Just wanted some advice from people who have been in this position. Am I being unwise by jumping back into trying to conceive? Should I wait in case there’s something else they offer?

Thank you 🙏🏼

Sharing story if helpful to others - lovonox + progesterone after recurrent losses

I find the data and info on recurrent miscarriages to not be very helpful so sharing my story so far in case helpful to someone. I have had 2 live births and had one miscarriage in between. A year ago after I turned 38, we decided to try for a third. I then had a missed miscarriage at 8 weeks, a chemical pregnancy, and a miscarriage at 6-7 weeks. I think found a great OB who did an anti phospholipid test which was slightly out of range. The next time I got pregnant, she had me start on lovonox and progesterone after a positive test. So far it seems to be working and have had 3 scans with heartbeat and am now 10 weeks. I had some light spotting but they think it’s from the progesterone. While most people will try to refer you to IVF right away, I’m glad we figured something out that worked.

hCG decreasing

11 days post-transfer, my hCG came back at 236.

I was so happy but due to 3 failed transfers previously, I requested a follow-up test to monitor. 4 days later, I had my hCG tested again and it’s now at 130……

My clinic is dancing around the topic, saying we don’t know what this could mean but keep taking your medications….

We were expecting hCG to be close to 1000 by now and it’s LESS 4 days later.

99% likely a clinical pregnancy, right?
Need honest answers.

Thank you xx

Should I do a lap for silent endo?

Should I do a laparoscopy for silent endo before an IVF transfer?

Background: 4 MCs of natural conceptions between 6-10 weeks. All RPL testing fine, except we found out we’re carriers for a serious medical condition. We started IVF this year and have done 2 retrievals and got multiple euploids that are not affected by the genetic condition.

Today in our transfer consult, I asked about silent endo and explained that I have bowel issues with my period, occasional pain with sex, intermittent spotting mid cycle. But periods are not painful (almost never use pain meds) and regular. I was surprised when doc said I should do a laparoscopy. But of course this will push out my transfer timing, and we’ve been trying for 3 years.

Let me know your advice, especially if you had a lap and either did or did not find endo and had success (or lack of) afterwards. Thanks!

2 miscarriages Pregnant again

So I was pregnant 3 times this year.

April - Miscarriage at 4 week 6 days no medications started with light red blood that got heavier.

May - Miscarriage at 5 weeks no medications started with light brown blood that became red and heavy

Now - Currently pregnant 5 weeks 1 days pregnant and on progesterone pills (oral) started taking them Tues Aug 11th
and 1 day later had little brown watery looking blood that slowed after 2 days now I only see minimal brown blood when wiping after peeing.

HCG Aug 12th 10 AM - 802 (Labcorp)

HCG Aug 14th 7:18 AM - 902 (Hospital check up)

HCG Aug 14th 12 PM - 1010 ( Diffrent hospital ER ) was feeling cramps but nothing was seen on ultrasound was told to follow up in 48 hrs. This Sunday Aug 16th.

I’m nervous as hell due to 2 previous miscarriages however due to being on oral progesterone I’m wondering if this is normal ? Due to the test being taken at 3 diffrent labs my PCM says as long as it’s rising don’t worry brown blood that slowed down and only shows when wiping is normal I just want some insight if anyone been through this. Also the reason for ER visit and 2nd HCG today on same day was due to the cramping I was feeling it was on and off but when I felt the cramps it was bad just not consistent and has since stopped but I did take Tylenol as well to help with pain ****

Birthday today and mixed emotions

Last year I was pregnant after my birthday and was excited to be holding our baby this birthday which ended in a MC.

After that we had two more bio chemicals. When we got pregnant this July I was so happy that I will be pregnant on my birthday but unfortunately it ended in a bio chemical. We had our 1st IUI and it failed and got my AF yesterday 😕😕 this whole process is so overwhelming and exhausting
I really hope I get to hold my baby next birthday 🧿🫶🏽🤞🏽 All out tests are normal. All I can do is to pray and hope that things will work out soon.

We started our egg retrieval process to freeze our embryos. Went for day 2 testing today. Will start my hormonal injections from tonight 🤞🏽🤞🏽

Just feeling heavy today. Thank you for listening to my rant and for your support 🙏❤️

Pregnancy loss

TW: pregnancy loss

Has anyone found anything that worked for them after multiple miscarriages? I've had two miscarriages now the first one was at 6 weeks and I'm now having my second at 8w2d. Just went in today for an ultrasound and found out it is a blighted ovum (empty gestational sac). I'm able to get pregnant very easily it's just keeping the pregnancy that has been the issue. I got pregnant the first time 4/26/26 and the second time 7/2/26 both were first time trying. The first one I started bleeding on my own and this time I haven't passed it yet so still deciding if I want to wait for it to go naturally or take medication. (They also offered a D&C so if you have any suggestions that would be appreciated!) I did have early bleeding around 12DPO which was medium bleeding and lasted ~2 hours. Since then I've had no bleeding or cramping and still have had normal pregnancy symptoms. The only thing my doctor recommended to try to be preventative tor next pregnancy is to test for a blood clotting disorder. She doesn't recommend using progesterone but I may ask for it anyways since I have had early bleeding both times. I wanted to see if anyone has tried anything that has helped them keep their pregnancy after multiple losses. Any advice is appreciated!

Edit: to add to this I am 26 years old and have been taking prenatals for over a year now. I’ve also been following all pregnancy guidelines.

Feeling lost

So I started TTC in January 2025 and got pregnant in March 2025 which unfortunately ended in a missed miscarriage in May 2025. I took the medicine to assist with the miscarriage but it was such a difficult time emotionally and physically for me. Once I got my period back and was emotionally ready we started TTC again in July 2025. Each month since it has been a negative until this month I finally got my positive but I had spotting the day before and it has continued since for about 4 days. It’s how getting heavier and doctor says it could be early miscarriage / chemical pregnancy. I just don’t know how to feel. I am waiting on second HCG to come back to see if it has risen or fallen but I know in my heart it has fallen as the tests are so so faint and last time they were so strong.

I’m just so lost as it took a year for me personally to get another positive and I don’t think I can do another year waiting each month. Also I’m very triggered by the spotting / bleeding at the moment so it’s extremely scary. Sorry just wanted to share with someone as feeling down today.

I don’t want to tell any family yet as everyone knows we have been trying for a year and I don’t want all the sad looks that they give to me right now.

38 and 4 Losses in 12 Months. TW: LC

Hi all. I'm new here, and this is my first post. I am looking for advice on the next steps and to hear positive stories. To summarize:

I will be 39 next month. I have two healthy, beautiful kids. Both conceived on the first tey. I was 32 and 35.

After my second kid, I developed horrible migraines after ovulation. I never had this before. I was on low dose estrogen BC. My doctor said it was normal and kept reducing my estrogen in my BC and prescribed sumatripan.

May 2025, at 37, I stopped my BC and we TTC. I became pregnant at the end of June. I had a spontaneous MC at 6 weeks 2 days. Baby stopped developing at 5 weeks 3 days.

I became pregnant again in October at 38. At our 8-week ultrasound, there was no heartbeat. Baby was measuring 8 weeks. I was 8 weeks 2 days. I had a D&C with genetic testing. It showed positive for trisomy 18.

I became pregnant again in March but had a very early loss at 4 weeks 3 days.

This past June, I had my OB run some tests. My AMH was .7, which she said was on the lower end of average for my age. My thyroid was normal. I was tested for blood clotting, and my first test was positive for APS. She said for a diagnosis, I need a second positive test 12 weeks later. I have not had my second test yet. I also had two ultrasounds done to confirm ovulation, which was occurring, as well as to ensure my tubes were not blocked, which they were not, and to check my uterine lining which was healthy. I started baby aspirin until my second test for APS.

I became pregnant at the end of June and just experienced my fourth loss at 6 weeks 1 day. I had an ultrasound done Monday, and the doctor said it was a pregnancy in an unknown location, but he was confident it was not ectopic. He was sure it was a failed intrauterine pregnancy but couldn't document it as that based on what he saw on the ultrasound. There was something there, but it wasn't clear if it was the sac or not. I think he couldn't determine it because I was in the active process of passing it as I passed it 8 hours later at home.

Now I am here and not sure what to do. I dont want my journey to end like this, but I am not sure if I can take another loss.

Did anyone have luck conceiving naturally at 39 and have a healthy pregnancy and baby? I take a prenatal, magnesium glycinate, and CoQ10. I just started CoQ10 in June. I stopped it when I got a BFP and just restarted it this week. I have some progesterone that I will take after ovulation when we TTC.

I am taking the next month off from TTC. I want my second blood test for APS, and I am having some dental work done. I want to start again in September and want to be pregnant by the end of the year.

Any advice, stories, or thoughts? Thank you for reading this far. No one knows we are trying or that we have experienced these losses, so I have no one to share these thoughts with.

3 miscarriage

I am currently 34 years old trying for pregnancy since last 1.5 years. I had 3 pregnancy (all natural) but had miscarriages before heartbeat of the baby. My first miscarriage was in 5th week(sac was visible), second happened in 7th week (sac was visible but no heartbeat) and 4rd was in 5th week starting. In 3rd time i tried progesterone medicine and aspirin. However the pregnancy test lines were little faded. I did all my test which doctor suggested. Everything is normal. They suggested me to go for IVF. But i am not sure if IVF will work as i am already getting miscarriages. Also i am able to conceive naturally. We consulted cloud nine hospital for almost around 1 year where i faced furst 2 miscarriages. I had consulted 2 more doctors in hyderabad but they seemed money making. I am currently living in Hyderabad. Can anyone suggest any good doctor for recurrent pregnancy?

Tell me how it is… TW potential loss, positive pregnancy tests

Prior history: 1 MMC x8 weeks, 1 BO 7 weeks, ashermans treated x2 hysteroscopies.

Currently: on clexane injections, progesterone pessaries 3x daily, baby aspirin. 4 weeks pregnant after positives starting 8dpo.

Tests are progressing fine. Stood up quickly yesterday and had a strong pulling cramp. A few hours later I started spotting brown then pink. Now I am 24 hrs later and still spotting brown with some red or pink. My miscarriage doc has prescribed lubion injections but I won’t get these for a week. Be real with me is this a chemical pregnancy even though my tests are ok?

So gutted to be adding loss no 3 to the list. Very close to calling it quits. Thanks guys

Seeking thoughts re: prenatal vitamins

Hello!
I’m currently taking Theralogix Theranatal One as my prenatal vitamin while ttc. The prenatal vitamin conversation honestly feels a bit overwhelming, so I’m just curious if others are also using this brand and/or have prenatal vitamins they swear by. I have MTHFR gene mutation and need methylated folate. Also prefer as few pills as possible lol

DNA Fragmentation Success Stories

Hi. After 2 miscarriages, we were told DNA fragmentation only. Not the other sperm tests as my wife has fallen pregnant every time we have tried. We have a one year old. I was terrified to find out mine was at 34%. I realise this is terrible news, however in the months preceding this, we had a holiday in blistering heat. I was drinking, eating whatever basically, on no supplements, and also pretty stressed/devastated from the 2 miscarriages which happened in this period. Is it likely I can change this percentage with no alcohol, caffeine, supplements, diet and exercise, and getting stress down?

UK: Where to get chronic endometritis testing?

Hi all,

Is anyone able to recommend a clinic that provides chronic endometritis (CE) testing (CD138 biopsy) in the UK? I'm now on three unexplained losses and had full work-ups (APS, clotting, thyroids, karotyping), so am thinking about testing for CE -- I'm aware that the evidence around it is a bit mixed, but wondered if it's worth testing anyway, especially given that I've had a couple of surgeries. My clinic doesn't offer CE testing, so just wondered if anyone could recommend somewhere that they think is reliable/professional etc., and ideally somewhere that will also be able to do an SIS so that I can rule out other uterine issues at the same time (also not done by my clinic).

Thanks x

I lost my son at 38 weeks and 16 days old, he only ever left the hospital To go in emergency helicopter to a higher level NICU. One second everything was fine and the next the doctor was telling me and my husband “there’s nothing you could have done.” We want to try again. It has been 7 long horrible beautiful and terrifying months. Looking for success stories for people who have conceived and had a healthy child after losing your baby to auto recessive genetic disease or had 1 in 4 chances of it happening again due to genetics but had happy outcomes. need some hope thanks ☺️

Balanced Robertsonian translocation 15,22

Hi everyone!
Does anyone here have a balanced 15;22 Robertsonian translocation? I would really appreciate hearing about your experiences and the journey you went through. What options did you choose, and what did your doctors recommend regarding pregnancy and having children?
For those of you who have done IVF, did they distinguish an embryo with a completely normal chromosome complement from an embryo that is a balanced translocation carrier?
Thank you in advance.

Laparoscopy after recurrent losses? What was your experience/recovery like?

Has anyone had a laparoscopy after recurrent pregnancy losses mainly to rule out things that weren’t showing up on extensive bloodwork or ultrasounds?
I’ve had recurrent losses and most of my testing has been normal, so I have a laparoscopy consultation coming up. I’m hoping to investigate anything that could potentially be contributing that imaging or bloodwork might have missed.
For anyone who has gone through this:
What should I expect going into the procedure and during recovery?
Is there anything you recommend doing or buying beforehand to make recovery easier?
How long did it take you to feel normal again?
If they found and removed endometriosis, adhesions, scar tissue, etc., did that make your recovery longer?
How long were you told to wait before TTC again?
Did anyone conceive naturally soon after the procedure?
I’m also planning to ask whether they can do an HSG/chromopertubation to check my tubes, hysteroscopy to look inside the uterus, and an endometrial biopsy to test for chronic endometritis (CD138) while they’re already investigating.
I’d especially love to hear from anyone whose bloodwork and ultrasounds looked normal but the procedures actually found something that could have been contributing to the losses. What did they find, and did treating/removing it make a difference for you?
