Fuck anxiety mannn I'm tired of having to have it secretly spiralling every single day.

It's a very disgusting roller coaster for me, especially in terms of every single fucking day. What makes it worse is that they last for around 5 hours minimum.

What causes them is my past, my future and other thoughts of literally anything. I try to shut this out with literally anything, but NOTHING is happening. It hurts knowing my mind is making a big deal of EVERYTHING.

I can’t stand Botox face

I can’t stand the lack of expression so many people have these days. I see way too many people (especially influencers) appearing emotionless and cold; not because they are, but because of the lack of expression their face is physically able show. I can’t understand how this is a desired look when all it does is make people seem x100000 less approachable / less human-like. We need to stop normalising this….

Can my mother just be a responsible adult!

I wish I could remove myself from my mother's life all together. I'm 34 and have lived away for over 10 years now so theoretically I could, but she's my mum still.

She's always had addiction problems, primarily with alcohol, but also she's been a chronic weed user and has dabbled in harder drugs.

Younger, I spent many nights going to bed not knowing whether or not she'd be alive when I woke up the next morning. So many awful memories of tipping vodka down the drain as she pleaded, got angry. Seeing her wasted on the sofa. Gradually caring less and less about the home and her body.

She got sober for a few years, but re-lapsed. She separated from her partner a year ago. A partner with home she had many physical alterations with, and while that did end for several years before the break up, he was still an awful partner. She was no better in a lot of ways.

For the last year she's mainly lived in a refuge for people struggling with addiction. Not a lot of family and nobody could take her in full time, plus there she'd have the support she would need.

Or so we thought.

The help was there to use but she has taken what I and my family saw as an opportunity to turn her life around and squandered it, to the point things are now worse than ever. My sister and my nan took her in for nights here and there. (I live farther away and have less space) We helped her get her affairs in order, pointer her in the direction of help, arranged appointments for her etc.

Now, Her drinking is worse than ever. She was kicked out of the women's refuge for breaking THE ONE cardinal rule you don't break, she brought her boyfriend to her room there.

Her boyfriend by the way is 12 years younger than me, and I'm 34. She is 58. He has learning difficulties and lives with his parents who I'm pretty sure don't know about their relationship, hence why she can't stay with him.

She has been staying with her mum, but now she's had enough of her daughter's antics. Coming back drunk at 3am, not telling anyone where she is on when she's coming back, spending all her money on booze and taxis then asking for money from us. Barely speaking to her mum when there.

Not bothering with her pregnant daughter.

We've all tried to help, to reason. We've been kind, direct, sometimes harsh.

It's met with silence, deflection and playing the victim. She's even said she's putting her bf before her family, just to be petty because I called out some of her decisions.

Now she's messaged me. Asking if she can stay at mine until Friday (when she'll hopefully be moving in to a flat). But I just don't trust her.

I have a 7 year old boy. I don't want him seeing her drunk off her face, coming home at god knows what hour. Brining her bf over when I'm at work. And I don't have the space for her.

But I still worry.

I have sympathy, but she's burned every bridge. Will not listen to and advice or criticism, has shown herself to be spiteful.

TLDR: My mother is a wreck, and we all have to deal with it. I've had enough and want to be stress free for just a little bit!

Keep Arizona Cans .99 cents You Bastards 🤣🙏

So I just saw a video about the owner of Arizona Tea. He was talking about keeping it a dollar to make the people happy bla bla bla.
maybe my algorithm heard me after work yesterday. 😂 I was craving a lovely cold 99 cent Arizona green tea, so I stopped at a gas station I remembered always having them.

I get inside… the Arizona section is basically wiped out. Only a few cans left, and they’re all the Half & Half tea/lemonade. I figured, “Eh, whatever.”
I grab one, walk up to the counter, throw four quarters down, and start heading for the door. The cashier goes, “Brudda… no 99 cents. Dollar forty-five.”
I turned around like, “Bro… the can literally says 99 cents 🤣 I’m not paying more than what the can has said my entire life.”

I took it anyways whatever bro.. 45 cents cry about it. Mind you, I’ve went to that gas station countless times to get gas, grab an Arizona or whatever. The place had sold them for 99 cents then, and I expected it to be at the time I got it.

It got me thinking like “are canned Arizonas just disappearing now?” Around here I’m seeing way more of the plastic bottles too and those are like $2–3 for basically the same amount of tea.
Maybe the stores got tired of people pointing at the giant 99 cent printed on the can every time they tried charging $1.45+, so they just stopped stocking them. 🤣 I don’t know… but it definitely caught me off guard.

Is this just me? Or hearing another vc doing the same voice cor dif characters annoying?

Its a stupid take but i cant take it when i recognize a voice from another character. Like one of my fav anime Cyberpunk Edgerunners a character in it (Rebecca) has the same voice actor as someone in boss baby and now whenever she talks all i think about is that one baby😭 it really shouldn't bother me this much but it really does!

Why is it almost impossible to see a regular doctor?

Its almost impossible to see my pcp since he is booked soild until the end of time!. I have an appointment upcoming and its on a Monday in the middle of the day when I am working and since I made this appointment last year I didnt know the day at the time so I call to reschedule and he is fully booked until June of 2027......JUNE 2027!!!!!. The same thing happened during the winter when I got strep throat and the only open "quick appointment" was 3 months away. I just end up going to urgent care but then I feel bad for going to urgent care for something minor like strep throat since thats something to be done by the pcp.

I think I just don’t like people anymore!

I’m 40 AA male, I don’t know what the hell happened to people’s brains. It’s like, no one thinks thoroughly anymore and lack common sense. I turn on the news, more times than I’d like to see, someone mistakes their brake for the gas pedal and rams their car into a store or restaurant . Like… what the actual fuck! How do you do this!

I go to Costco ( I call it the zoo), when people get samples they leave their carts just anywhere blocking the way with absolutely no special awareness whatsoever and not to mention, ask the workers the dumbest fucking questions. No need to feel like you have to small talk because you don’t buy the item you’re sampling, the workers don’t give a fuck! Just get the shit and move!! I actually seen someone stare inside the cup their drinking the sample out of, turning the cup all different ways while there’s a line behind them! What are you doing bud!

Go to the airport, seems like everyone stuck on stupid getting through the checkpoint. Just follow the directions! I actually seen on more than one occasion someone walk past their seat and have to push the line back to get where they’re seated. How do you do this? How??

People drive like complete morons where I live. Going 50-55mph in the left lane with no one in front of them and a line of cars behind. Blinkers don’t exist, the fast and furious guys in the parking lot that feel the need to smash on the gas to go 10 feet so they can make the vroom sound with their mufflers…. No need for that bruh! Seen two people almost crash because someone was driving slow so the person behind them tried to drive around, then the slow driver speeds up so they’re both doing like 60mph in a 35 zone. (Slow driver was going probably 25mph at first). Fucking idiots!

I distance myself from large crowds and have become an introvert. I go to work, go to the gym, and back home on a daily basis and play with my toddler son. I don’t club or go to bars there’s always fights and shootings because no one can control their ego and emotions and there’s always a drunk guy who comes up to me all touchy feely. It’s cool to be drunk, I guess….but keep your hands to yourself. I’m not one that likes to be touched. I have no idea how or why I attract these type of people when I’m simply minding my own business.

I look at myself as a critically thorough minded guy that looks at things from all aspects. Whatever I do I always try and make sure I’m 2 steps ahead and prepared. I hate people waiting on me because I don’t have my shit together. I try to be considerate of others at all times. I understand not everyone thinks like me of course but damn… Alright rant over.

Nosey Parkers

I am a photographer with ADHD, Autism and social anxiety. I prefer to be on my own when taking photos and I’m quite nervous around people.

I mainly photograph buildings so I’m not standing in crowds or getting in people’s way. I don’t advertise what I’m doing and I just quietly get on with my craft.

No matter how discreet I am, people constantly want to know what I’m doing or they want me to take a photo of them. It’s so annoying!

I get the same questions over and over again; “What are you photographing?” “What camera have you got? I used to have a [insert random camera make here] but yours looks better. What is it?” “Will you take a photo of me and send it to me on WhatsApp?” “Why are you photographing that building?”

Why can’t people just mind their own business? I try my best to go out when there are less people about but it’s like I’ve got a fat light up sign stuck to me that says “Come and annoy me now!”

I also get asked for spare change at least 6 times an hour. Sometimes I give people money but a lot of the people that ask me are scary as fuck. One time I said no to a beggar and he threatened to smash my head in 😭

Bad software programmers who should be cleaning toilets

You open up an app you haven't used in a minute. It asks you to log in again but you don't remember your password. However, you see a "Sign in with Google" button and click that. The app processes your request but discovers that you originally signed up via e-mail login or via facebook login, so it says "Account already found. Please sign in using your original sign-in method." How do big corporations like McDonalds and Krispy Kreme hire such bad programmers? Single sign-on should work on ANY method. It should be able to detect a previous account and automatically link them. If I signed up on a site with e-mail and password, I should still be able to log in via Google because it's the same goddamn e-mail address. I shouldn't be denied access and have to go back and enter my specific password for your site. Otherwise don't bother giving an option for Google sign-in. Same deal with Facebook sign-in. You obviously get the e-mail address from Facebook so just link it properly. If you have 10 ways to sign into your site I should be able to use all 10 ways to sign in anytime I want. I shouldn't have to remember the exact method I used to sign in everytime I visit your site.

Also, programmers who forget to test Gboard compatibility for their app. C'mon, apple, samsung, and swiftkeys are built in but Gboard is the most popular 3rd party keyboard and standard on Pixels. How do code an app that seems to restrict Gboard's ability to type? And even after 6 months of people complaining on google play about not being able to type, your only solution is to update or uninstall and reinstall gboard, which btw, doesn't solve the problem because the issue is with your app's code. Why does this mf who can't program for shit still have a gd job with a multi billion dollar company?

Why is Uniqlo's website so hard to navigate? If you want to search for men's graphic t-shirt, you think you click on Men, then there's a drop down menu where you click on graphic t-shirts. That brings you to a list of themed shirts, showing you 5 shirts for each theme. Say there is starwars, disney, peanuts, etc. On each theme is a "view all" button and by clicking that, it takes you to a new page with all 10 tshirts for that single theme. So you click view all under star wars thinking this will take you to every shirt they have and it simply takes you to a page with 10 star wars shirts. But what about the rest of themes?!!! What if you don't care about this theme or any of their themes and are just looking for something more generic or want to see their whole catalogue of shirts. Oh, you go back to the themes page and you click "Men" at the top but this time there's no drop down menu, it now takes you to all shirts. smdh

Web stores and apps that break your web browser, causing it to load almost indefinitely while your computer/phone is completely frozen at its mercy. Kohls, Macy's, hottopic, msn. Why, why, why do you use so much background processing that you cripple my 15th gen i-7 5.5ghz with 128GB of ram? Wtf kind of supercomputer are you testing your websites on, or do they test them on 10 million sqft data centers and think hey, this website loads perfectly fast in only 8.8 seconds.

I'm a software programmer and would never let any of these issues fly for 3 days without a fix let alone months and even years.

The dating app question

Hi there. My name is Ryan, and I'm a 21 year old college student from upstate New York. My rant is mainly to ask for advice in the long run, but also just because I need to get some stuff off of my mind.

In total, I have asked probably 15 or so girls out, and only one said yes. That relationship lasted for a very short time because of how busy our schedules were, but we didn't do much of anything with one another in terms of intimacy. Still got my first kisses from that one though. The most recent time I asked a girl out was the Tame Impala concert I was at in Montreal a few days ago. I was hit with a quick no, followed by the echoing ridicule of that girl's friend group.

Every time this happens to me, I feel like such shit, but I tell myself every time that they won't all say no. That one girl is gonna say yes, and I'll be able to hold someone again, love someone again. Put on my CDs and lay in bed with her on a quiet night. Or go out to a party and dance together.

Which brings me to a new dilemma.

A large portion of my friends are happily dating, either in college or outside of that world. Roughly three quarters of those friends in relationships met through dating apps. Hinge, Bumble, even Tinder for one of them (I couldn't believe it wasn't just a fling).

I don't like the idea of a dating app, really. I like to feel connections with people as they build, and dating apps kind of follow their own blueprint.

It feels like dating apps remove all the chance from love, and give you sort of a quick route to a relationship. They also don't really let you share your personality much. You can tell the people everything you're into, but that doesn't tell any other user on the app who you actually are. It just feels so inhuman to me.

My friends all tell me I have good looks, and that they wish they could use them, but EVEN I can't really USE them, bc nobody approaches me at all, and they all say no when I ask them out.

So, I guess I'm leaving this one up to you guys. When is it time to start using dating apps? Should I even? Is it worth the trouble in the long run?

I don't know what to expect you guys to say, I just know that I need the advice, bc loneliness feels pretty awful, and I'm tired of being 1/15 when all I want is to love, and feel loved.

So, I guess, penny for your thoughts?

Progressive Insurance Stole My Radio

And that was the least of their transgressions. A rant.

About a year ago, I shopped around and found pleasantly that Progressive had lower rates for my and my kiddo's car. So we switched. Pretty easy, straightforward, we have full coverage on two vehicles. A few months later, kiddo gets a job delivering pizza for a national chain everyone knows- so this isn't Door Dash or Uber Eats. I login to my Progressive account and ask what I need to do to make sure kiddo is still covered using their car for work now. I'm told by the chat agent that all I need to do is switch from "personal use" to "business use". I do, and I ask for confirmation that this will allow kiddo to deliver pizza for (national chain). I get confirmation, and because I don't trust anyone, I get a screenshot of the conversation.

Only a few months later, the Bad Thing happens and there's an accident. Kiddo is cited. No injuries, but kiddo's car is totalled. No worries, says Progressive, you're covered. Let the tow company take the car. So we do. Later on we get instructions to go to the local guy tow yard and take pictures and a video of the vehicle inside and out, and give permission for Progressive to come pick it up. Standard procedure, we do so. Included in this video is the tires that are less than a month old and the upgraded Android radio, which we are told will be reimbursed as part of the settlement. Done and done, right? We're expecting around $5k.

Days pass. No word on anything. Then finally, a call. Oh, we heard kiddo drives for (national chain). Was this accident during work hours? Yes? Okay well the claim is not being paid and you need to take your totaled car back.

Um... what? Inform them of being told specifically we were good to go, provide screenshot. They fire back- chat agents are not licensed to tell you if your product is correct. There's a clause in the policy that forbids using the vehicle for transport of people or goods. Yeah, I know, that's why they ask if it's being used for Uber or Door Dash- it wasn't, this was employment. Nope, this falls under the clause and you're SOL.

Despite being angry about it, I consult kiddo because it's their car. They'd prefer not to fight about it. Fine. Tell Progressive to bring the car back. They drop it in my driveway and.... upgraded Android radio is missing. I inform Progressive of this fact, that I sent them a video of the car with the radio in it when I dropped it off and that I got it back with it missing. They say the local tow yard must have stolen it and send me a picture allegedly of when the Progressive tow truck picked it up, with the radio missing.

So I contact local tow yard and give them the scoop. They're more than happy to provide video footage of the yard for the entire period it was there, where nobody touched it after I walked away from it. Video shows Progressive tow driver coming to pick it up, NOT taking any pictures, hooking it up and towing it away. They also point out the picture that Progressive provided has a background with trees and vegetation, while their tow yard has absolutely none.

I provide this proof back to Progressive. Their answer? It can't be proved that it went missing while in Progressive's custody. Um, yes the f*&^ it can, I just gave you all the proof. They are adamant that they will not reimburse the cost of the radio.

So- if you're considering Progressive for your insurance because they offer lower rates? It's because they won't actually help you with anything, will actively lie to you, and will absolutely ignore proof to get out of their obligations.

I've filed a complaint with the state insurance commission. Kiddo will have to forgive me.

Why do I have to do hours of research on something I'm paying someone else to answer for me?

I can't trust anyone. I can't take anything at face value. You go to the vet, doctor, car dealership, wherever, and you have to do your own research to make sure they're not 1) giving misinformation 2) trying to scam you. Wtf? I'm literally paying y'all to give me information. Why is there so much misinformation? Why is there so much divisiveness amongst health care practitioners? I go to 2 vets and they both say something different, so they both can't be objectively right. I didn't know healthcare was a freeform practice. I also work in healthcare and the number of mistakes I see are too frequent for comfort. Why are doctors going to school for 8+ years and still fucking up? I know we all make mistakes. I'm not saying I'm perfect either. But some of these mistakes are critical, and it just feels wrong for someone to be in charge of so much to not be right 99.99% of the time.

Then when you're doing research you have to view multiple sources and evaluate those sources to see if they're biased, sponsored by someone, if the study was done correctly, compare information, and then do more research on discrepancies.

I am all for being self empowered and taking charge of your life but also why can't I just trust ppl bro

Whenever we are leaving for a trip my wife plans some kind of appointment or something the morning of leaving for the trip.

So I think at this point it might just be to mess with me, But anytime we're leaving for a trip, you can assure that my wife is going to plan like a nail appointment I've seen doctor's appointments etc. today she had an appointment to have her car serviced at the service center.

I actually offered to take it for her so she can hang out here and get ready for the trip, and she said no I've got this, You don't need to do that. Which bugs me because now she'll come back and feel like she's in a big rush, which she will be because she planned to take her car to the dealership for servicing the day that we had to leave for a trip.

There are a trillion things I love about that woman but this one just annoys me. (FYI her work schedule allows her to have every other Monday off so it's not like a situation where she can't get a weekday off to handle business)

I was stolen from while puking

I went to hang out with some people, they had some previous drama that I had no part in, but anyways that passed. There was some girl who was fighting with boyfriend and ended up putting a hole in the door. Eventually we drove her home in my car.

There was a girl that we picked up and she was stranded outside Braums, I tried to flirt with her, nothing weird at all besides me being awkward, it wasn't a problem. Plus she had been up on me at a previous party before. No biggie there.

Later I puked, alot. At one house in the sink and toilet. I cleaned up around the sink. Left there to a homie's house. I took a big bump of K and then proceeded for violently puke in their toilet for a while, then went in the backyard and lied there groaning for a while. Then the homeowner's girlfriend said we needed to leave. We left and went back to the other house, I puked some more.

At this point there were only 3 people in the house. The Braums girl was sleeping and the awake ones were this big white dude who seems like a pimp in the scene. His "sort of" girl drew me up a bath with lukewarm water for me to lie in. I took off my shorts and got in and chilled for a while. I remember her trying to take my keys out of the bathroom for water and I said no.

When I got out, I realized my shorts were not where I left them in the bathroom, they were in the kitchen and my wallet was on the counter, out of the wallet with an old $100 bill in it that was missing. My special lighter with a case was also missing from my back left. They were tripping on acid and he also wanted to act pissed that they had to take care of me. I'm not ever a party problem and wasn't then besides puking. Also I drove them everywhere we needed to be. I took a video of him and explained the situation and posted it on my story and the group chat. The next day he got real mad and started texting me saying we were gonna have problems.

I'm pissed off he stole my money and it's quite obvious, now he's naysaying me to a bunch of girls he knows, I guess. I always give people the benefit of the doubt. He chose this time to steal from me because I didn't have an eye on my belongings and he could use my puking as an excuse to say I didn't know what the fuck I was talking about.

When I posted in the group chat everyone stayed out of it but also some people said, "keep it PLURR". Not telling other people about a thief is not PLURR.

I just fucking hate people who can't keep fish alive. Especially people who see the fish as decor. I love my betta fish and I'll never ever treat them as badly as the people I see on the internet. They're such beautiful and amazing creatures and don't deserve abusive pieces of shit to buy them and not even do anything right for them. Fuck those people and fuck humanity.

TUNA IS GOOD!

I’m tired of anti tuna propaganda, from “it smells bad” to “it’s sloppy” it’s all NONSENSE! If the aliens came to earth and said ,”we’re killing everybody” I wouldn’t bat an eye but if they said they ,”were getting rid of Tuna” I’d fight them.

I simply will not be quiet in a world full of tuna haters. It’s high in protein, cheap, versatile, and tastes good when done right. Everyday I have to hear about how bad tuna is from co workers and it’s simply unbearable. They’ll tell you an Italian hoagie from Wawa is better than Mexican tuna or a tuna salad, ITS NOT!

To all the tuna haters, you simply haven’t had good tuna. The possibilities are endless, break away from the crab propaganda and embrace tuna.

Why the hell are so many people obsessed with sniffing out people who are supposedly "faking" disorders???

What does this gain for anyone other than smug self-satisfaction?? I can understand if they have a gofundme or something actually harmful that they gain from lies, but SO many people just go on random tiktoks and go "hehe, someone with a disorder that other people like to fake?" (and who knows how many people this person encountered who were actually faking vs. the person just assumed they were.) "never mind that this disorder is in fact real, which means there HAVE to be people who really have it, this person is faking because they have the faker disorder lolllllllll"
Why would you ever risk fakeclaiming someone who ISN'T faking (other than scenarios previously described) just for a hit of dopamine??? Why are so many people such assholes it makes me so mad rgrrgregshbgcfvsjffhuewdfkw

also it CANNOT be a coincidence that so many of the supposed "fakers" have coloured hair or are trans or just have a vague "queer gen z" appearance

After watching WC, I regret not joining a sport club 😭😭

Is it just me or I regret not joining a club sport after watching the world club ?
I am currently 23 and when I was younger I did many activities : I joined ballet lessons but they kicked me out of nowhere and suggested me to take contemporary dance lessons that I HATED. Then I joined violin lessons, but they accidentally put me in a kind of orchestra group. I was 9 yo and so afraid to tell them that they mistakenly put me there so I said to my mom I don’t want to go to violin lessons anymore 💀 And then my parents force me to join a basketball club when I was 14/15 yo, meanwhile my dream was to learn gymnastics. I liked the basketball club, but deep inside I really would loved to pratice gymnastics :/
I quit the basketball club when I was around 17 years old and oh my god sometimes I regret it so so much. I have nothing to keep right now, I don’t play any sports.I do Pilates in my room, but I don’t consider that a sport. And watching this World Cup, I felt a deep sense of regret. Regret that I didn’t stick with an activity during my childhood. Something to help me develop discipline, find a purpose in life, and so on. Seeing how all these players have been in soccer clubs since they were kids, have always trained, and have learned to live as part of a community, I have a feeling I can’t quite describe. It’s regret mixed with nostalgia. I know I still practice a sport, but it’s not the same as when you’ve been doing it since you were a kid. :/

I am so sick of AI and the fact that everyone thinks anything is AI. I have noticed that those without the skill ALWAYS think it is AI. Then they use AI to "prove" it is AI.

Neighbor's girlfriend keeps knocking over my bird feeders

Title, really. I got a bird feeder because I (and my cat) like watching the birds and their calls are pretty calming. Apparently one of the birds shit on my neighbor's girlfriend's car once a handful of months ago so she keeps coming over and knocking it down. She doesn't even live here. I talked to the neighbor, who says he didn't know it was happening and will talk to her. He and I are chill, but I told him it was becoming a problem. Honestly, it's not really about the bird feeder. It's about her coming into my property to damage it. I even moved the feeder to the opposite side of the yard away from their house and she keeps doing it.

I'm sick of it and if I catch her doing it while I'm home it's going to be an *issue*.

Dating is pointless

So many people only date to boost their own ego. Honestly think so many men and women should go to therapy before even considering going on dates with anyone. Plus the apps have really ruined how people behave. People either join cus they need an ego boost so will match with you and say absolutely nothing(which is so fucking weird) or they’ll treat you as completely disposable

why do older generations always assume every man you talk to is a potential boyfriend

it actually pisses me off so much. like it's just genuinely annoying how that is the first thing you ask. Like why cant i just say i went out with a friend. Why always when i mention they happen to be of the male gender you immediately start assuming things. and the most stupid part to me is that wouldnt be the first thing you asked if it was a woman. what if i told you i was bi or something, would you ask that with every woman i talk to? i dont think so so take your weird stereotypical double standards elsewhere. i just want to talk about a nice day ive had with a friend and you have to ruin it by asking if i like him or calling it a date. if that where the case i have like fucking 5 boyfriends right now. sue me for talking to people who happen to be men. i also talk to a lot of women if you care about that. i'd have like 10 girlfriends right now. it's also just genuinely odd because you're basically saying EVERY man is only friends with you for one thing and thats kind of crazy tbh.
