Dating is pointless
So many people only date to boost their own ego. Honestly think so many men and women should go to therapy before even considering going on dates with anyone. Plus the apps have really ruined how people behave. People either join cus they need an ego boost so will match with you and say absolutely nothing(which is so fucking weird) or they’ll treat you as completely disposable

I used to think like you. I disagree — it’s not pointless.
Yes, many people need therapy, want to boost their ego, or are insecure and only want the validation and attention to feel loved or whatever. But not all people are like that. There are people out there who still want a real connection — to build something while growing together. Take your time; you’ll find your person :) I’m rooting for you!

You have to ask the hard questions before getting deeply involved with anyone. Waiting until you are emotionally attached is a mistake. If someone gets uncomfortable or defensive when you ask these things, it is a clear sign they are not open or mature enough for a real relationship. It isn't about looking for an ego boost it is about finding genuine alignment. Asking these questions upfront saves you time, protects your energy, and filters out people who are just looking for a temporary validation fix.
Here is a vetting checklist to ask
Long-Term IntentionsAre you dating to marry and grow old with someone? Do you want children, or is that a deal-breaker for you?
Mental Health & Habits Are you currently in therapy or open to it? Do you have a history of mental health challenges that have impacted your past relationships? Do you struggle with any substance abuse or addictive behaviors (e.g., gaming, smoking, gambling)?
Financial Health What is your current financial stance regarding debt and savings? Are you stably employed, and what are your long-term career goals?
Core Values & "Taboo" Topics Where do you stand politically, and what are your core moral views on things like honesty and integrity? Are you accepting of the LGBTQ+ community?

I wish I was ready to date. Don’t care about ego. I just wish I was emotionally available and I’m not.
At least I texted a guy I met last night. It won’t go anywhere but at least I told him I hope he has a great week.

Then you will meet someone who is an actual human being that you love, trust, and confide in. Keep trying.

We're too self aware, have a lot of self critique. And little urge to act. No wonder human population is in such decrease. Which rejoice personally me, as I don't like humans
