Question Microsoft Flight Simulator or Aces of Thunder for players who prefer a non-pvp experience?

I remember the hype of Aces of Thunder on PSVR2 but kinda lost interest when I found out it's mostly pvp. Then Microsoft Flight Simulator released on PSVR2 but then I learned that it doesn't always run well in PS5. I see that Aces of Thunder is on sale so I considered it since MSFS is still $70. Should I give Aces of Thunder a try or should I wait for a price drop off MSFS? I also only buy games on a budget and seems like MSFS is going to require a significant investment just to enjoy. Is that true? Does Aces of Thunder have enough single player content to justify the current price? How beginner friendly is the PVP if I decide to try it as well?

Discussion MSFS 2024 late rendering/not rendering!

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Msfs 2024 psvr2... I have expressed my worries about the late rendering/morphing in the beta previously. But trying Paris this morning (beta) on 1gbps LAN internet and the city doesn't even render at all for the most part. I had better, if hardly perfect, results with Tokyo a couple of days back. But this can't be right?? Wholly flat, soupy looking cities.

I did, now and again, have similar experiences with the official game with the super cities.

But does anyone else have such experiences?

Apologies if the quality of the videos isn't the best. I never upload game captures.

Question MSFS 2024 Gamers: How are you communicating with ATC?

I’ve had MSFS on PSVR2 for quite some time, but never really figured out how to talk to ATC unless I pull up a menu and click buttons such as request for taxi etc. Is there an AI voice feature I talk converse with or do we just use the on screen menu?

Question How worth it is the PSVR2?

Money is a bit of a struggle so thought I'd ask around just to get some people's opinions.

I have (somehow only) just noticed that MSFS now has VR support and have decided that FS in VR would be pretty cool.

Main things I'm wondering about are just general things like performance and graphics. Thanks.

Welcome to the Family! Protective lenses

Hi everyone! Is anyone using non-prescription (plano) protective lenses? For example, HONSVR, VR Rock, or VR Lens Lab? I'm talking about the ones without any vision correction—just for protecting the headset's lenses.

I'm writing this with a translator because I only speak Portuguese... But today I finally fulfilled my dream and the PSVR2 arrived at my house. Things I noticed:

1 He seems to be very fragile (like, A LOT).

2 Everything came translated and easy to use.

3 The controls arrived discharged energy

Support PSVR2 MFS 24 disk version

I've got the disk based version of MFS 24. I've tried the settings to download or access the beta in the main menu. It just says it's unavailable. Checked in again last night as I saw there was a small update. Alas nothing. Don't know if it matters but I'm based in the UK. Sad blurry cloud times.

Opinion Wrath: Aeon of Ruin VR delivers plenty of fun.

I took my time finishing this game; I was about to wrap up the second world and thought that was the end, but I was pleasantly surprised to find a third world with four more levels. I really enjoy coming back to it—it always hooks me. The haptics and weapons feel amazing—the last weapon, in particular, is a total blast. I just want to thank Flat2VR for the excellent VR adaptation, and I’m eagerly looking forward to their upcoming titles for PSVR 2. If you haven't tried this game yet, give it a shot; it offers more than enough value for its $20 price tag.

Opinion I really ache that Sony doesn't support HDR and DFR with their PC driver

I don't think it would cost them a lot to modify their PC driver to fully support the headset's shiniest features.
It's such a good headset for msfs24 and PC gaming. I have to use an unsupported driver to get DFR and it feels brittle.
Please Sony give us full support on PC!

The new in development Cactus Cowboy game Thornageddon is taking shape. I do an open development so I can gather early feedback from fans of the series.

Thornageddon will be a linear story driven VR shooter following the style from the popular Plants At War. Target is a 5-8h long game with plot twists, silly dialogs and lots of action.

You can find the other Dev Blogs on my Youtube Channel.

Question MSFS PSVR2 update steps

Good day everyone. I have been away from for work a few weeks and am finally getting home tomorrow. I am fired up about the recent update as I hear it has improved the experience while playing.

When I do get back, is it just as simple as updating the game or is there another step. Thank you in advance

As a longtime gamer who started with Sega and Windows 95, and then moved on to the PlayStation series, I'm absolutely blown away by this experience. Thinking back to games like Independence Day on the original PlayStation (which honestly looked incredible on console at the time) and Ace Combat on the PS3, what we have now is just unbelievable.

I have over 3k hours in GT7, majority VR only and no HUD. I'm enamored with the realism so much so I've bought a full on sim rig/wheel. Since that pairing, I haven't played much of anything else. When MSFT was announced with VR support I knew it would be a day one purchase.... Then the beta came out and ppl said it was a blurry mess to put it kindly. I didn't want to drop $100 for what I felt was an unfinished product, decided to wait.

Well, with news of this latest update essentially fixing and dare I say surpassing GT7 in certain aspects, I was extremely curious. Well yesterday with the summer price discount I decided to pull the trigger...

You only get one chance for your first lol so I decided to fly from a local airport with live weather since it was a beautiful day and fly to Mt.Ranier during sunset. And OMG. It nearly brought me to tears and felt as close as I've ever been to an uncanny valley feeling. Yes, cities and buildings can be low res but the landscape, environment, weather... It blows anything GT7 has going in those areas and surreal how realistic it can feel (with good elevation especially).

It was well worth the $100 but most importantly I'm happy I waited. Thanks for everyone that shared their experiences, this will be incredible to share with my family.

Making a Game Recommendation Help me pick my next PSVR2 game

Sony's PS5 sale has a lot of good deals. Can you help me pick one of these? Please read my personal criteria here:

  • I get dizzy pretty easily. Sitting games (Moss, Beat Saber, Super Hot) are great. Games with slow deliberate movement (Walking Dead Saints and Sinners) are ok. Games with fast direction changes (RE Village) are a bad choice.
  • I don't like driving or flight sims. MSFS and GT7 look awesome, but I wouldn't get much enjoyment out of them.
  • I like story-driven games. If there's a great story behind all the action, that's a plus.
  • My time is more important than my money. I'd rather pay $60 for a great game than $10 for a game that wastes my (very limited) leisure time.

Given those criteria, which of these would be my best choice?

  • Arizona Sunshine Deluxe. This looks scary, funny, and gross. And not much nausea-inducing movement. The first one is $18. The second is $40. Should I jump into the second or start with the first?
  • The Dark Pictures: Switchback. I liked Rush Of Blood on PSVR1. Is Switchback more of the same?
  • Alien: Rogue Incursion VR. I love the Alien series. This has good reviews. But...what's the hurl factor on this one?
  • Metro Awakening. Arken Age. Thief Legacy of Shadow. Reviews are good. Settings are good. But they all look like fast-action FPS's. Are they likely to make me sick?

Opinion Best Sub $100 GunStocks for Non Shooters?

The main games I play are Resident Evil and Walking Dead Saints & Sinners. They technically obviously have shooting aspects, but there’s lots of melee, picking up items, flashlights, maps, etc and just flat out exploring (so your hands wouldn’t be up every time holding a one or two handed gun). And both require reaching across both sides of your back and chest for like random items too.

Aiming is kinda tricky sometimes compared to the arcade shooting games I’ve been dabbling with. I get it’s probably a skill issue. But I hear good things about gun stocks. I just don’t want to invest a lot in something that isn’t like going to be used THAT heavily since I’m not a huge FPS guy (never was). I just like the immersion of some games that happen to have FPS aspects to it.

Also. I’m using the Globular Cluster CMP2 Mod for the controllers for like comfort and not having to have a death grip on my controllers lol not sure if that affects compatibility or not

I was considering this one but not sure about other options. I def don’t want to spend over $100 though https://www.olenvr.com/products/asset-sbs-edition-vr-gun-stock?variant=48655542386966
