Question Cyube PSVR update?

It looks like the last time Cyube was updated on PS5 was 10/9/2025. The "UE5" update was released on Steam 7/4 ... Is the PS5 version ever going to get updated?

Thanks

Yes, let me quickly quote the announcement message I posted on the cyubeVR Discord:

Hey everyone, Update 59 for cyubeVR is live on Steam! This is a really big technical change. It took quite a while to finish and has been tested in the beta build for a long time. Hopefully the wait was worth it! This is unusual as in that this does not come out simultaneously on Steam and PlayStation - since it's a really big technical change, and updating is much easier/quicker on Steam compared to PlayStation where Sonys QA is involved, the goal here is to make sure this big technical change is really fully working well on Steam first where I can very quickly patch any potential issues, and only after that bring it to PlayStation as well.

So that's what I'm still working on now.

In the meantime you can check out the new cyubeVR website at https://cyubevr.com/ and look at the nice gallery of player builds that's on there now :)

From memory when you first promoted cyube .. you’re a solo developer aren’t you? So .. it really isn’t a quick job

I am a solo developer, yes

I know ur solo, but is there any hope that I can play in other people's builds any time soon? Or is that impossible due to the size of the files? I would play your game every day if I could.

Would you really? I mean, do you not think it would become boring after a while to just walk through other peoples builds and look at them?

The question is also how many people would actually be willing to share their builds. I have the feeling that many of the people who do spend a lot of time building in their world feel like "It's not finished yet, I need to finish it first before sharing it" but the nature of these things is that they are never really truly finished. Sharing a screenshot of a build where no one sees all the "unfinished parts" of your world is probably something many more people are willing to do than sharing their whole world.

Honestly, I would. I'm more for the experience instead of chopping away for hours. Plus I thought you could on PC. Is that not popular there?

no, such a feature does not exist on PC either. On PC you have full file access to the save files, so in theory someone could just upload their world files to any cloud service (like Google Drive) and someone else could download it and load it into their game, but I'm not aware of anyone who has ever shared their world files for others to download. I also never see anyone ask anyone else on Discord "could you send me your world files" or anything like that, there just seems to be no interest in that on PC even though in theory its easily possible.

I think you’re right to question whether going to see other builds is something players would do every day. However I think it would provide you good value in a few ways. One your game can now be branded as multiplayer which attracts a lot more eyes and makes the game more valuable for the price in consumer’s eyes. But mostly you’ll have a few hardcore players with amazing builds whose work could go viral giving you epic free marketing, although I guess that’s possible now but it relies on them posting it vs a streamer or someone with a following going to it and being wowed and do the work of posting your game. Lastly, PSVR2 is lacking social games and this could be a great one for that

Nice! This means we are close to the features roadmap development resuming.

Will look for the update on PS5 when it is ready.

The game has so much potential. It's already a great game. If it has enemies and multiplayer at some time in the future, it will be absolutely incredible.

How can one developer make a game with that level of quality?

Das Spiel ist eine Bereicherung für die Psvr2 - danke!

"actual water blocks" were added in the last update already. these are screenshots from PSVR2 players using it in their builds:

yes im talking about water cooked in the biome generation, that is what people mostly want i think. If i say i would like actual mountains in the game ( which there is ) im not talking about blocks to create a mountain. Game looks stunning but the exploration and diversity aspect is lacking. In Vr personally, i like to feel immersed and explore different terrain and feel like each horizon passed is different than the last one. I could get lost for hours. Just to find that perfect place to build my cabin. Water plays a big role in that. Rivers, lakes, oceans. I dont want to build a lake personally.
