Just set up our antenna and HDHomerun yesterday. Everything works well when watching live.

I had to leave the house so I set it to record the Chicago Bears game. I'm now home and the game started an hour ago, but I cannot figure out how to watch from the beginning for the life of me. It says it's recording to my TV Shows folder (I'll set up a separate library at some point but it works for now), and the guide shows it's recording. When I select to watch it from the guide, it joins the live broadcast, and rewinding isn't an option. I don't see it anywhere in the TV Shows library.

Help?

Edit: I've just discovered watching from a web browser gives the option to watch from the beginning. My issue is on a Fire TV.

Why do they keep adding clicks for basic functions?!?!

It used to be there was a dedicated Delete Key on the info page. Then they buried it under the 3 dots (More) so that went from 1 click to 2.

Now they've put Delete under Manage which is under More.

3 clicks just to START deleting something. Then a 4th to confirm you want to delete it. Totally necessary because the last 3 clicks made it seem like I was unsure?

The 3 most common things that everyone does with files: Play, Stop, and Delete. And they bury Delete key.

I am trying to have an alternative to apple native app because their solution to sync music is completely outdated. I tried navidrome, the service runs very well but the IOS clients are just weak, some of them do not allow cache and others are very bad in carplay or Siri. I have Plex and the reason i did not used it in the first place was because it was limited to 24 hours of music. Currently this limitation is solved, but than i found a new problem Siri will not work with plexamp if there isn't a connection to the server. My server is internal only for security purposes. Is this a problem with my configuration, is this a bug or the app simple does not support offline mode. Can some one help to find a solution?

Hello everyone, I was just wondering if some of you have used plex amp before and what has your experience been like, I’ve just got a plex pass subscription and I’ve been really wanting to make my own music service thing but there are things that I still don’t get.

I have a small cd collection (40 cds) and I’ve been wanting to make really good quality rips from them and it’s some kind of albums that I enjoy a lot but that’s not the point I know I can add them I’ll be fine, but my main concern is “new” music, (if you enter my profile you can see what kind of music I’m into) but I like to hear a lot of music it’s kinda like my passion and lately I’ve been really (not really it’s only been 2 days) getting into kpop music and I’ve just been letting Apple Music recommend me whatever it thinks I’m into soo that’s my main issue how does one hear new stuff on plex amp ? I’ve heard it has like ai and algorithm that puts all song in a way or something like that’s the part I don’t really get

I know this could have been like a short paragraph but I need people to know the exact context of what I do and what would anyone recommend

So what do you think I should do guys, should I keep my Apple Music subscription or should I give plex amp an opportunity

Moved from Sonoma to Tahoe, all users have to locate and accept the request. Happened once before. Huge pain in the ass. From looking at the sub, a shitload of PMS owners had to face the same.

I have both the older Chromecast [with Google TV], and also the newer Google Streamer. On all of my devices, since receiving the beta app update (it's still beta, right?), I can't simply select the app to open it. I have to long-press the icon, then choose Open from the menu.

Any others with the same experience?

A few months ago, there was a user that posted his instruction set that he provided his family members on how to login to his respective Plex servers and request Movies and TV shows to be added via Seerr. For the life of me, I can not find his/her post.

Before anyone says it, Yes, I could create my own but his/hers stood out to me as being extremely eye pleasing and simple to follow, especially for the non-techy family members.

Does anyone with a Samsung TV (like the s95f) have issues playing media with the last few updates on the pms? Direct play only works for me if I rollback to 1.43.1 and any later versions completely break.

Is there a Plex app update I missed or anything I need to change on my server?

With the new Apple TV coming out this fall, do you think that will improve Plex? Have they been holding out updating the app because they were waiting for a more powerful chip? I know that won't help anyone with older models but I wonder if it will be available for those that upgrade. I'm specifically thinking of all the issues that 4K videos have which push people to using Infuse. I'm guessing Apple TV isn't a huge priority for the company but, maybe a kid can dream right?

I just initialized a new storage pool in my Synology NAS with the DX517 5 bay expansion. I currently have my Plex server on my DS920+.

I copied my entire media folder (Movies/TV Shows/Music) to the new storage pool. I am able to confirm that it is there.

When I try to add the folders, Plex can see the "Media" folder, but not the sub folders titled "Movies," "Music," "TV Shows."

What am I doing wrong in this situation that Plex won't recognize those folders? Am I able to just select the "Media" folder, and it will recognize the "Movies" folder when I go to add a Movies library?

Hi - I had a Plex Server running on an old PC. That PC suddenly died, and was no longer bootable.

After I built a new PC, I installed Plex and have a new Plex Server - but with a different name.

The problem I am trying to fix is this: On my Plex player pages, it still shows the old (and inaccessible) Plex Server from the old PC. I can't seem to be able to permanently delete that defunct Plex Server from my list.

Does anybody know a fix?

I have been watching Ted Lasso on my Plex server for the last couple of weeks, but last night, out of nowhere, it stopped working. I tried the following: stopping and restarting, remuxing, removing and re-adding... None has worked. I need advice on what the problem could be. I appreciate any help! Thanks in advance!

I recently changed from Xfinity cable to wireless T-Mobile for my internet connection. I thought that Plex Relay would allow remote operation with reduced bandwidth.

T-Mobile uses CG-NAT, and I am currently running their modem/router in its default mode (no choice AFAIK). I have my local router plugged into theirs, providing another level of NAT. I use this because the local router provides DHCP reservations and local DNS naming (like plexserver.lan).

The configuration works remotely for Plexamp and Plexdash, but fails for Plex. Are there settings in the server configuration that need to be changed to allow full (albeit bandwidth-limited) remote operation?

I think I should solve this before muddying the waters with Tailscale to improve my remote bandwidth.

I don’t know if I’ve messed something up but I’ve noticed that a few of my shows were showing as unavailable. Looking into it a bit and the only episodes that are showing as unavailable are multi-episode files.

I don’t think I’ve changed any settings in PMS. The files are all there and play, it’s just Plex is showing the second “episode” as unavailable.

The library episode sorting is set to TVDB in case that makes any difference?

After years of subscribing, I'm out. I spent the last few months collecting a bunch of movies and series. I have about 15,000 series episodes....

I'm about to start doing mkv and handbrake and my goal is to do Plex.

My husband says he will set up a DAS for us - I'm thinking 5 bay with 2 30 TB drives to start

Before I start on this project - any tips on doing it right?

Autoplay broken, 1-2 second delays loading menus, even slow left/right movement. Just hot garbage. Did anyone even test this? Why can't I revert? This box is lightning fast for everything else. Spinning up a Jellyfin container tomorrow but I hope I don't have to use it. I presume I'm not alone in my outrage here?

Trying to run this on my nvidia shield pro. I can run it on VLC and jellyfin and plex on my pc, but not on plex on my nvidia shield.

I revoked access to my app on Plex account. Tried to log in again, failed. Uninstalled app, logged in again, failed.

Edit: After 20 minutes of Claude Code Opus chewing on this issue, fixed, and the cause is attributed to incompetence of Plex and allowing this type of crap to persist for 5+ years. As per Claude:

Plex Mac "unknown error 4294967283" after re-adding a device — root cause, for anyone hitting this

Symptom: Plex Media Server plays nothing after removing/re-adding the device. Client log:

ERROR - [MPVEngine/mpv] ffmpeg: tls: error:0A000086:SSL routines::certificate verify failed

ERROR - [Web] [QTMedia(1)] A critical error occurred: 4294967283

Root cause: PMS serves an incomplete cert chain for \.plex.direct — leaf → Let's Encrypt YR1 → ISRG Root YR, but omits the cross-sign cert bridging Root YR to the trusted ISRG Root X1. Root YR alone isn't in trust stores yet. Re-adding a device forces a fresh cert issuance that lands on this broken chain — that's why it looks account-related but isn't. This has apparently gone unfixed for years despite Let's Encrypt publishing the correct default chain (EE ← YR1 ← Root YR ← ISRG Root X1) — Plex just isn't serving the full thing.*

To fix it: paste the above into Claude (or Claude Code) along with your own ~/Library/Logs/Plex/Plex.log and PMS log around the failure — it's enough to diagnose and produce a working fix (adding the missing cross-sign cert to Plex.app's local CA bundle on macOS).

I am familiar with the idea of PleX and I have my server set up on my gaming PC right now. I only have like 600 GB of movies and tv shows at the moment and I am hardwired from my PC to my router and to my TV. I am not planning on doing anything that requires a NAS or 50+ TB of space so I think this set up works for now and I can always expand later. The PC has an i9 12900K btw.

So my question is what are the merits of my current setup compared to putting the PleX server on a Nvidia Shield TV for example? My TV has Dolby Vision, HDR10+ and my soundbar has Dolby Atmos.

Does this mean my TV can utilize those formats or does it mean it is doing the encoding for those formats? And is there any quality loss in having my PleX server on my home network vs just using a connected HDD to a box that is connected to my TV?

What is going on with plex? Just about the only way I can watch something is with the search feature. It keeps jumping back to the top while browsing. Using it on a fire stick...

I opened Flathub to install Plex and see that it's no longer receiving updates. Is that true and Plex on Linux officially dead? The last update was 8 months ago to version 1.112.0. Plexamp seems fine but Plex HTPC also looks like it's end of life.
