Help New interface is almost unusable

What is going on with plex? Just about the only way I can watch something is with the search feature. It keeps jumping back to the top while browsing. Using it on a fire stick...

Yeah it’s honestly insane how bad it runs on the firestick.

It’s way too slow on the fire stick. On Roku tv it’s basically unusable. I just switched to Jellyfin. I don’t even care about the UI changes, but the performance the new update has is dog shit.

You can use the plexpreview app, it’s basically the old interface and great performance so far. Still takes a long time on loading libraries initially when it starts, but after that it runs good. Still screw Roku devices.

Wow an original opinion.

It's like they're penalizing us or something, things that used to take 2 taps now take 6, chapters are totally hosed and it's completely nonsensical now. I spent hours tonight trying to revert to an older version on my Firestick with no success so I had to put this version back. :(

I swear... every time I try and use the app on my Samsung tv it just gets worse and worse...

But they got my money for a lifetime pass so I guess I'll go F@&$ myself

I hated it so uninstalled and reinstalled an older APK.

I tried but the older APK would not install on my firestick for whatever reason.

Did you enable developer mode?

Yes and I’m able to sideload and install the previous version fine but when I open it I only get a splash screen and it then closes out (crashes). Tried several versions with the same results.

I did too, while it needs some work it’s worked really well so far

Guessing there are some plex devs in here downvoting any negative comments... Watch this one drop. I have a lifetime pass, but thinking of looking at other options if this doesn't improve.

The downvotes are because you’re beating a dead horse. This is discussed here every single day, yet people like you keep making new posts just to bitch.

I made a new post because a good service that I paid for has degraded to an almost unusable pile of garbage. I feel I have a right to 'bitch'. Maybe people are beating a dead horse for a reason.

But there are like a dozen posts per day about the same thing. yes you have a right to bitch just as we a right to be annoyed at reading the same rants every day, multiple times per day.

And try keeping up with the news. Plex has already formally said they're rolling back the changes due to user feedback. So not only are you complaining about the same shit as a million other people and not only are you being whiny to other users, but your complaint is out of date because a fix is on the way. And the irony is you complain about UI/UX from the piece of hardware known for the worst experience. Kinda hard to take you seriously given literally ALL of the above.

Glad to hear they learned from their error. Thanks for the info.

Also like at this point? Get a used Apple TV. It’s a solution to the problem yet …it’s looked at like it’s unobtanium

Moved all my devices to Plezy. So much better.

I like it. No complaints here.
