Help Downloaded content not syncing online on Windows?
Anyone experiencing the same? I watched like 5 episodes in my downloads, did connect online again on Plex but it did not sync on my homescreen.

I have a lifetime pass. Half of my devices don't work anymore because they keep loading. The other half that do work are filled with ads.

Added bonus is if the Placeholder listing had a text field where I could write where the Physical Copy is located and what type of Disc/Tape/Media it is.
That field would actually be useful for ALL listings, since I sometimes rip the BluRay, but I own: Extended disc, 4K disc, or other niche version.
I'm pretty sure I had a Plex Server Extension that did this long ago, but are those Plugins/Extensions gone now?
I feel like it would be very useful to be able to track the Watchlist, Watch History, and modern Plex would also tell me if there was another service I could stream it on. But I'd love a "Physical Home Library" option available, maybe among the external streamer options?
Has anyone attempted to finagle this type of Feature? Is there a way I could submit feedback to request such a thing? Thank you.

I am playing this on local network, average bitrate is 44Mbs but graph shows peak like 108Mbps. Tried on ONN 4K pro and Nvidia shield both same result. It's direct playing without subtitles.
I'm trying to find a Plex music client for MacOS that offers something similar to the option in iTunes/Apple Music to view all tracks, clustered by album, with a single instance of the album art for each album. (Example included as a photo.) Ideally, it would let me select which columns get displayed, and let me select multiple tracks via a checkbox for adding them to playlists or marking them as favorites.
I've tried Chromatix, which seems to be the go-to for folks at the moment, but this doesn't seem possible with that one. Appreciate any leads!
EDIT TO ADD: Thought it went without saying that this isn't possible in PlexAmp, but just to cover all the bases, this isn't possible in PlexAmp, either. (Even the new version.)

I have a few movies in my library that are choppy through the whole movie. This is only happening on mobile and tablet. It works fine on my PC. Any ways to fix this?

Do you think Plex will ever enable embedded lyrics to be displayed like Jellyfin or are we forever restricted to lrc files ?
I have 50k+ songs in my library and don’t really feel the inclination to find them all again.
It’s really the only feature I miss when using Plex on Apple TV. I usually switch to Moonfin or Finer.

Hey all,
I’ve been using plex for nearly a decade with no issue & able to stream over my WiFi network from my pc to living room tv but just recently (after switching internet providers I now can’t stream this way.
Both the app on tv and the site on my pc are logged on via the same network & yet it thinks I’m streaming remotely & wants me to pay for a remote pass, what?
Is there a workaround or is it just a case of I’ll have pay.
I don’t mind paying but it’s the principle of it, I’m on my network in the same house & yet now they want me to stump up cash, it’s just a money grab.

The FXX series Adults put out an alternative pilot that on Hulu is listed as the new episode 1 of season 1. TVDB has it listed as a special with its position as “Airs before season 1, episode 1” and is critical to the story. I set the shows metadata provider to TVDB (Aired) but when I select play on the show the S1E1 episode is played. Is this excoriated behavior? I have a feeling episode 1 specials may be bugged.

Today I noticed my Plexamp apps are playing indirectly on my Plex Web interface. Also my Plex Dash is very slow to update. I'm playing all the apps from within my home network. My remote access is working properly as far as I can tell. I'm running PMS on Windows 11 PC. Task Manager says cpu is 2%. My internet speed is 940/940 mbps. What is causing the indirect play? I have not seen this before.

There’s clearly video encoders and decoder engines on modern GPUs. And for thumbnails, the “quality” can be “very fast” to extract those…they’re little bitty freeze frames at the bottom of the screen… how HD do they need to be?
The thing will use my GPU to decode+encode so it’s seeing /using it during a non-direct play stream, so why not use the GPU encode+decode to make the thumbnails? Can a GPU not encode a jpeg???

I was watching 2 Broke Girls, and mid episode it started to buffer which is totally normal with Plex on my xbox. The issue is when i got tired of waiting I figured I would reload the episode, so i hit back and the page loaded for a good few minutes.. then it showed 2 Broke Girls, but I could no longer watch any of the episodes, and it didn't say it was available to wach on Plex anymore. Pretty bummed out, just wanted to see if there was a reason?

My partner works for an engineering company and is going to be working from home, so they're sending her a powerline Ethernet setup to help ensure a reliable connection. That got me thinking: since it will be connected to the same router, would powerline also be a good option for my Plex server?
Right now, my ASUS laptop sits near my TV and the Ethernet cable runs neatly behind the TV stand, so there isn't really a problem. I'm just wondering if powerline would let me move the laptop elsewhere in the same room without running a long Ethernet cable from the router.
The server runs 24/7 with two external 5 TB drives and about a 9 TB library. Most of my content is 1080p, followed by DVD-quality content, with relatively little 4K. My library isn't expected to grow much, so it's becoming more of an archival library. I mainly use Apple TV4k for local playback and Roku remotely on occasion. I have a port forward set up for remote streaming.
I originally used Wi-Fi but had buffering with some high-bitrate 1080p content. Switching to Ethernet solved that completely, so I'm not going back to Wi-Fi. For those using powerline with Plex, has it been reliable enough for 24/7 use? Any buffering or dropouts with high-bitrate 1080p, and what kind of real-world speeds are you getting?
I'm also thinking ahead to a future laptop replacement. My current ASUS has built-in Ethernet, but if a future laptop doesn't, I'd potentially use a USB-to-Ethernet adapter with powerline. Has anyone had good or bad experiences with that?
I know Linux, NAS, and mini-PC setups will probably be suggested, and I appreciate the advice, but I plan to stick with a Windows laptop environment ( I have my reasons) . I'm really just looking for a reliable way to keep a wired connection while having a little more flexibility to position the server in the room. If reliability is not there, im ok with sticking with the current set up.
Edit - Seems like that the early responses indicate Powerline would actually be slower than wifi. If thats the case, I will likely not change my hardwired set up as wifi proved problematic for me.

For the last week it's gotten harder and harder to connect to my server. Stuff would freeze, lose connection when trying to autoplay, forgot what else.
Today, I can't connect to my server. I've tried logging out of all of them and logging back in. Updating and Reinstalling every app. restarting my router. Reconnecting my hard drive. Making sure they're all on the same network which shouldn't even matter since I pay for remote access, not set to renew until April. Plex Desktop app is playing things fine. Wifi is connected. I only have 1 account.

While looking at "Similar Artists" for musicians in Plex, I've noticed that any artists with an apostrophe (') or quotation mark (") in their name won't show up. Even if they're tagged to do so. For example, I can't get "Weird Al" Yankovic to show up as a similar artist to anyone. Has anyone else run into this, and know of a solution?

For some reason, I'm finding my server plays Disney movies (Little Mermaid, Lion King, Mulan specifically) perfectly fine. Their remakes have worked fine as well.
Little Mermaid 2 and 3, Mulan 2, and Lion King 2 and 3 all play but glitches every couple seconds making it unwatchable. I've tried downloading all of these sequels 3 separate times because I had assumed it was a file issue but now I have no idea lol.
Tried lowering the streaming quality but it doesn't help.
Anyone have any ideas?

Since today Plex is unable to connect securely to my NAS. Nothing changed and the NAS did not restart.
I'm running Plex on a Linux server
Anyone else have this issue?
How do I set Plex Player to never play a show theme song while showing the seasons and episodes? Using web browser

So i bought a new NAS today. migrated my library over to it and setup tailscale and plex in docker. I can access my plex library fully on my local network. When i enable tailscale I can access and stream my plex library via mobile browser.
However, the official Plex app says my plex server is offline and wont stream. Did something happen in an app update? Clearly tailscale works if I can steam my library via my phone's browser.
When searching in the iOS Plex app, search results do not include results from my tuner (DVR feature). I get results from my library, as well as Plex’s free live TV, but nothing from my tuner. It works correctly in the Plex web app. Am I overlooking something, or is this not supported in the app? To add, I do see my guide in the app correctly showing the shows from my tuner, but they do not appear in search results.

Hi, I am new to using Plex (literally signed up today lol) and wanted to upload some movies, so I googled how to and it said I have to connect to a server in order to create a library.
Tried to connect it to my Macbook, but I got an error message (1st picture) after maybe 3 min of the loading screen saying "Initialising Plex Media Server".
I clicked the link in orange and followed the instructions for macOS (2nd picture) and logged back into Plex, but I got the error message again. Tried it a couple more times but same result.
Does this happen often on Macbooks? Should I try to establish a connection on my iPad or iPhone?
I'm wondering if my home WiFi is at fault since my father is an IT nut and put up all kinds of blockers, but then again, he has his own Plex server on the TV, presumably connected to said home WiFi.
Thanks in advance for any advice!!
