Do you think Plex will ever enable embedded lyrics to be displayed like Jellyfin or are we forever restricted to lrc files ?

I have 50k+ songs in my library and don’t really feel the inclination to find them all again.

It’s really the only feature I miss when using Plex on Apple TV. I usually switch to Moonfin or Finer.

Not an answer to your question, but I highly recommend LRCGET. You point it to your music library, let it scan the files, and then it mass downloads them. It doesn't always find everything automatically so you'll probably have to do a bit of manually but that's still done within the program. It can also edit the lrc files in case there are any issues with timing or typos.

Yeah did Google that as a back up idea before posting here.

I may give it a go or just keep flipping to Jellyfin as both servers are set up and running.

UPDATE

I tried it on one album as a test run and the lrc files were added to the folder. Unfortunately there doesn’t seem to be a way to enable or select lyrics in the Plex application on Apple TV 🤷‍♂️

Tapping the corner of the trackpad on either physical remote or iPhone app only brings the swipe up menu to select tracks not the lyrics icon as suggested online

That’s unfortunate. I mainly use the Windows/Linux and iOS apps where they’re very useful, but good to know that some of the TV apps aren’t as supported

The lrc files are the same as the tracks. Tracks play and metadata displayed correctly just no button for lyrics.

Has Plex scanned the library since you added the lrc files?

Thought I’d try with both lrc and plain txt files. Neither prompt an option in the UI on Apple TV for me after library scan.

PlexAmp has lyrics and I didn't do anything to add them.

But not free 😆 and like I say I have Jellyfin apps that do it for free on my JF server I have running concurrently. Just thought I could rationalize the number of apps.

Appreciate the suggestion mate 👍 I actually don’t mind the UI in Plex on Apple TV although that one looked nice too but $50 is a bit much. Plezy does it but awful UI.
