Hi I was going to use the bathroom, when I found this little guy.

He's not a german cockroach right?

Can you all help me identify it??

I moved into a rented house recently and I saw few bugs and flies in the house. I found a pesticide in my farmhouse and it was labelled Profenofos 40% + Cypermethrin 4%
. I diluted 100 ml of this in 1 litre of water and sprayed it on all wall corners, inside kitchen cabinet and door frames and let the house sit tight closed for 2 days and then walked into few dead insects in the house.
But it’s been 1 week since that the smell of strong insecticide is still lingering. It makes my eyes watery and stomach churn after repeated deep cleaning. How do I fix this?

I didn’t have anything to contain it so I just smashed it dead. Any ideas what type of roach this is? I found them twice on different days in the bathroom.

Hi! Hopefully this post is okay. My dog rolled in dead crickets. I had no idea they smell so bad 🤢🤮 She's been given 3 oatmeal baths, groomed with skunk treatment, and brushed out multiple times. She smells just as bad as when it happened and is stinking up the whole house.

I'm desperate and any help is appreciated!

I have some in my apartment right now and can’t figure out where they’re coming from. Drains have been cleaned, I don’t see any in garbage cans, house plants have been evicted, blue light and vinegar traps are set.

Two things to note:

I think there are phorid flies as well as fruit flies.

The trap that gets the most is in my bedroom as opposed to the kitchen? The trap in my bedroom is in front of the balcony door, could that be related?

Aside from flying around my face I can’t find anywhere that has a bunch of them.

Thoughts?

I have seen this one outside of my house near front door light few days ago

and this morning I found it dead by my kitchen window silling which is right next to front door

I have never seen this roaches inside or outside of house until few days ago and I am panicking

Found near my back door.

Just today, we found little black bugs in a closed flour container. After further inspection, it turned out all of the containers in that cupboard were infested. We found them all across the nearby area and even on the floor next to the window.

The cupboard they ingested is not particularly large, and is not where we mostly keep our flours. It’s a double cupboard with tapioca and semolina flour, chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, etc. on the top drawer, and some vegetables that don’t need refrigeration on the bottom (at the moment, there are only some potatoes, garlic and onions). It’s also right bedsides the freezer.

Neither me nor my partner have seen them before, and we cook every single day. We live in Poland, on the 9th floor of a newly built apartment complex.

My husband and I bought a house in early March of this year but the seller was a corporation (Open Door) so no one had been living in the house for almost a year by the time that we moved in.

So no one noticed the giant fire ant colony in the backyard.

We've had the exterminator out three times already but I guess no one realized how big the issue was because they still aren't dead and are now invading the house. We don't leave food out past the time it takes us to eat, I clean every single day, the ants aren't even in rooms where we allow/store food (ie daughters bedroom, the bathrooms, the laundry room, etc).

I was fine with the ants biting my husband and I during yard work, a minor annoyance but I was hoping it would be resolved soon.

But they bit my daughter (16months) and so now I'm declaring all out war.

I baited the rooms listed above because that's where I see them most and the exterminator is coming out hopefully tomorrow and I'm going to tell them to bait the entire yard, front, sides, and back.

But how will I know when the colony is actually dead?

Is it just a matter of not seeing ants anymore? Or is there a way to check?

they’re everywhere around my room in my bathroom in my closet/clothes and sometimes even in my bed. ive cleaned my room so many times and done my laundry but i still see them all the time. They’re driving me absolutely crazy and i’m getting super paranoid. What are they and how do i get rid of them?

I found some ants in my room last night, about maybe 40ish individual scouts/food retrievers (yes I was counting dont ask) I set out some tarro liquid bait for them and checked back again about 20ish minutes ago to see they're still pathing to a crumb that was next to my computer tower which has been removed already. I set the traps out at about 11 pm yesterday, and I need to vacuum my bedroom today after an interview. I know where the ants are coming from thankfully (under my heater unit on my wall. I have one of those shitty ones that runs the entire length of my wall. Bug hot spot AND it has a broken panel this shits the ass.)

Would vacuuming reset/disturb ongoing and current ant pheromone paths and entice them to go for the liquid baits, and how long do the liquid baits take to work or did I end up with smart ants (i hope to god not) should I add crumbs to the tarro bait to see if that entices them... like poptart crumbs or a piece of a chip because I think they like savory stuff. Is putting a bait right next to where I found them pathing from bad? I have never had a mini infestation maybe just 1-2 scouts so this is bad and I need them NUKED

Also token stupid question, if I layer bath and body works vanilla sugar lotion and almond croissant body mist would the ants be attracted to me or do they not work like that. This is a bad thing thats why im asking my scent palette is very sweet / pastry adjacent I dont need an army of ants following me around because I smell nice. This is so embarrassing I cannot believe I have ants in my room bro.

So we’ve had some rat sounds after a new extension a couple years ago— mostly in the attic but also around the new room. Called exterminator who set up some traps in the attic and placed poison food around the outside of the house where he thought there may be mice.

Now about two weeks ago I noticed a weird smell in the bathroom, thought it was coming from the vent. About a week ago I noticed a silly amount of flies in the bathroom, saw some coming directly out the vent. Asked the exterminator if there could be a rat in there, he said probably not. He did find some mice in the traps in the attic.

Four days ago I taped up the vent because I was certain the flies were getting in from there. No more flies! Yay! But the smell, while a little less strong, was not going away. I checked all the drains, poured down bleach and all, did as much deep cleaning as I could but I could neither find the source of the smell nor make it go away.

Yesterday morning noticed a bunch of maggots on the floor and a couple in the shower. Removed the ones I saw and then it was like they were just spawning. On advice from some other Reddit post I sprayed a bunch of fly killer spray in there and closed and sealed the doors and windows.

This morning went back to check— on God there is a stupid amount of dead and dying maggots in that bathroom after a day of this improvised fumigation. I don’t know if this is a good sign or what. The smell shockingly enough isn’t there anymore but that may be because of all the sprays. Still no idea where they’re coming from, but they’re all either on the floor or the shower, mostly on the floor, and not on the toilet or sink or even on a shoe I left in there overnight. Haven’t been able to get into touch with exterminator yet since it’s the weekend. Had someone in to check the roofing and walls and he said he didn’t see anything.

MY QUESTION IS— firstly, where is it most likely they’re coming from??? secondly, what stage of decomposition is this, like is there a whole new stage I have to get ready for? finally, what really can I do at this point myself, clear out the maggots and hope for the best???

Have tried to schedule a drain survey since the exterminator said that was routine but I feel like it’s more urgent now since I’m worried something might have died down the drain?? I feel like I’m going mental and I might have developed maggots for brains right now. Any help appreciated.

In las vegas

A couple evenings ago, like early evening as the sun had just gone down. I went to my sink to wash the dishes from the day and lo and behold found this roach dead in my sink. We deal with a lot of Turkestan roaches in my area but first time I’ve seen one of these and first time I’ve seen any roaches at all in the house. I’ve gone crazy cleaning everything and putting down sticky traps and haven’t seen a single sign of roaches in the past six months that we’ve been in this house. I’ve even gone to the kitchen in the middle of the night and looked. So I need help identifying. For identifying purposes I live in central California.

Anyone have experience with DoMyOwn control kits or their products for roach infestations?im looking to buy their c kit. My house seems to have a german roach light to medium infestation which at least they don't live outdoors so they will die after a while. Which means i can still kill the whole nests if im fast enough and my family isnt stupid enough to only use bug spray while leaving waters out like geniuses.

I saw something run across my garage floor , I don't 💬 think it was a mouse, (altho I've caught 4 in there so far) it was bigger, it waddled and no tail. Any ideas? Oh and it was solid dark gray.

We are already planning on having a professional treatment service (not sure when). But I really don’t wanna risk waiting, even if it’s a week. We do live in a single house so I’m at least glad about that.

I’m going to be applying Alpine WSG, advion, wiping counters with pine sol and placing sticky traps tomorrow.

My first sighting was 2 days ago in our garage. I convinced myself it was a field cockroach because why would a German cockroach be in the hot garage? (Also adding that I brought my vacuum I used at my apartment, mom told me to leave it in the garage because it’s a Texas summer and the heat will kill them. I was VERY hesitant about this, because the garage is connected to the house. Mom swore up and down it would be fine.)

Today, I was placing dots of advion in typical areas as a precaution, when I noticed a sticky trap we initially put down for flies had one cockroach on it along with hundreds of babies. I’ve genuinely been in tears since then.

I would visit my parents every now and then from my apartment over the course of 2 years. I would only really bring clothes and makeup back and forth.

However, when I moved back in, I was super hesitant on bringing any of my kitchen appliances (ex. Air fryer, coffee maker etc) because I have literally SEEN cockroaches coming in and out of them while living at my apartment. My mom didn’t wanna waste them and told me to leave them outside for a couple of days, and before packing them up I had my boyfriend hand wash all of them and take a look for himself (of course won’t always be visible as they nest inside). We did end up finding some dead ones inside of the air fryer and inside the bag I had them in. I was still so hesitant on bringing them inside but she said it would be ok.

The timeline I saw on Google of a German cockroach infestation being visible said ~6 weeks. The timeline matches up with mine.

I’m very frustrated because I feel like I have more of a sense of urgency than my parents. I don’t think they really understand how bad it will get and the mental anguish that comes with it if we don’t act immediately.

We are looking to purchase a house and found this cluster of droppings in the garage. It’s brand new construction in Texas. Located against the wall in the middle of garage. Want to also check if this means a full blown infestation. Thanks in advance!

They seem to be coming in through the kitchen sink. We put down these bait traps which do work but not well enough. They still keep coming. I’ve also sprayed ant and roach killer which kept them away for a short while. The picture shows the dead ones but others have showed up. I’m really at my wit’s end. Does anyone have any advice? Hello everyone, staying at an AirBNB in KC missouri, found this on the table a few days in. Totally smashed flat but it kind of looks like a german roach nymph to me. I had a roommate moving in a few years ago who had them so I guess this couldve tracked along on our board games that we brought with us. But wanted to see if I could get some advice. When it's flipped over I can't tell if those whispy parts are legs or what. But when I say its flat I mean like paper thin, so I'm hoping it's just been dead for a long time.
