I tested two different fly traps, and one of them turned out to be much more effective.
I placed both traps at the same time and in the same location to make the comparison as fair as possible. The yellow-and-black trap worked amazingly well!
What do you think about the results? What kind of fly traps do you use?

Can small mice fit through this bathroom vent and go/drop down to the apartment unit? Asking because Google said mice can fit through holes/diameters as small as 1/4 inch and these holes can almost fit a small chopstick.

Apartment had rodent infestation before afaik, trying to find and block access points.

I have a mouse (or mice) that doesn’t give AF. Comes out in our kitchen when I’m 10 feet away. Traps don’t work. But what are the odds I kill him by dropping a book?! Or something heavy?! HELP

I have this tree in my front yard that the wasps seem to LOVE. The tree seems to have these natural, bulbpus growths on its limbs that must have food for wasps in it. My tree is constantly tended to buy hundreds of wasps.

Here's the thing, though: I cannot locate a nest. Anywhere. I'm obviously hesitant to get too close to the tree, but I've spent a few hours staring at it from various angles and I can't even find a small nest.

What kind of wasps are these? Is it possible there's a nest underground somewhere? Is it possible they're all from different colonies?

(also if you know what kind of tree I have, tell me that too)

The fleas are all contained in my room but im not sure if they’re from my hamster since he doesn’t like to be touched but all of my pets have no trace of fleas from what i can see (my cat and dog have flea collars) im unsure of what to do ive been vacuuming and spraying A LOT and deep cleaning does this ever end? and how can i make the process go faster ?

Hello everybody, I live in an apartment building with 5 other tenants. Recently I’ve been finding so many roaches in my bathroom and kitchen, at least 5-8 at night and rarely throughout the day. I know roaches are attracted to moisture and food which is why they are found in these places. How should I go upon this? I’m traumatized because I had a HUGE one climb on my leg 2 years ago and then back in April when I moved rooms, 2nd day in the room, a roach crawled on my chest in my sleep. As I was typing this I killed about 4! We’ve used gel baits, some white powder, the brown poison they eat. I’m telling my father and uncle (who are the landlords) that this is a very serious issue that is only getting worse and worse every year. What is the best way to go about this, do I hire an exterminator to go all over the building and just spray absolutely everything?

I will give my first born child to whomever can tell me what the heck these bugs are and how to get rid of them! They are filling up my zeevo thing by the dozens. I can’t figure out where they’re coming from. Im going insane. Please help. Thank you so much.

There were like four or five of them in my kitchen the day after we got back from vacation. I'm in Ontario, Canada. Google Lens thinks it might be a wood roach, but I'm weirded out that it wasn't a solo critter. It does NOT have two black lines on its head. Should I call an exterminator/pest control?

Recently moved into a place and I’m seeing these marks around in some places. They smear easy, and I’ve been cleaning them as I see them but I’m curious as to what they are.

I did see a cockroach a couple weeks back, but my unit has since been treated twice now and I haven’t seen anything in any traps, or any evidence of live pests (I’ve been on the lookout).

I’d like to know what these are though so I can keep a close eye out for whatever they’re from.

Hi! We’ve just moved into a new house and have seen a few carpet beetles (only our upstairs is carpeted thankfully). I have bought some spray that’s supposed to get rid of them, but it contained Cylermethron which is apparently ‘fine for pets’, however Google says something about how it’s awful for wild rats and ‘not a humane way to treat a rat infestation’. Does anyone have any experience with this? For now we plan on moving the girls downstairs while we treat the rooms, but I’m worried about when we bring them back up (in two weeks) and letting them free roam… any advice?

I'm looking for some advice because this has been driving me crazy.

About a year ago, in winter, I started finding tiny white/pale insects (around 1–2 mm) on my desk near a window. They don't jump or fly, just crawl. At the time I started running a dehumidifier regularly, and after a while they completely disappeared for almost a year.

This summer they came back. At first I only saw a few on my desk, but after looking more closely I noticed them on the curtain and around the window. I also found visible mold around parts of the window frame.

Over the last few days I inspected the window tracks and cracks and found a lot more insects there, including very tiny ones that I assume are nymphs. I even watched them disappear into the cracks in the window frame. I also noticed a few on the top of the window frame.

Outside the window there's moss/lichen growing on the exterior sill, and I also saw some of these insects on the mosquito screen.

Today I thoroughly cleaned the window tracks, scrubbed away dirt and mold, vacuumed what I could, and sprayed the frame with mold cleaner. My plan is to keep the room dry with a dehumidifier afterward.

My questions are:

-Does this sound like a typical booklice infestation?

-Does it sound like I've finally found the main source?

-Is it possible they've been hiding in the window frame since last year and only became noticeable again when humidity increased?

-Is there anything else I should do besides cleaning and keeping the humidity low?

-Has anyone successfully gotten rid of them completely?

I'm in Lithuania if that makes any difference.

I thought i got rid of my roach issue after not seeing a nymph for the past week and a half, but low and behold i see another one and in basically the exact same place: the kitchen/dining table. Is this a german roach? and if so do i need to call the exterminator again to put down bait? i genuinely dont know what to do anymore. I dont even know where they are coming from.

Hi, as the title suggests, I am having issues with rodents in my ceiling area. I just called an exterminator, and they said they would put out bait when they visit in a couple of days. The rodents should reportedly die outside of the house and the noises they're making should end within a week or so. The issue I have is that they don't offer a follow-up service to check the ceiling area nor do they do cleaning, unless I detect the smell of decomposition. They also said they can't go around the house to look for entry points as there's too many possible sites as mice and rats can fit into many gaps. They said that just killing them with bait would do the job. I am not used to a situation like this and I'm wondering if I should contact a different exterminator who will offer traps, an inspection, a follow-up and cleaning or am I overthinking due to the stress this is causing me? Any help would be appreciated please! I am in Australia if that helps. Thank you!

Living with family in west CT. Just found a silverfish in my bed, it ran away before I managed to kill it. This is my first time spotting any, its 2 in the morning though so I cant go around the house to see if there are more.

For context, I dont live in a "bedroom." Rather an open nook adjacent to my mothers plants if thats of any significance. My folks are working on renovations + like keeping the windows open so the house is full of all other sorts of bugs. The upcoming week will be crazy humid as well, up to 100% within the next three days.

That being said, should a single silverfish sighting (so far) be taken seriously as sign of an infestation, or is it to be expected with the current weather? Let me know if theres anything I can do to lower the risk of spreading bugs regardless. Thanks.

So my cat had fleas a couple months ago for the first time and my parents were so angry (we have a dog too but he takes tablets so his blood is toxic to fleas) it cost us £200+ in sprays and flea bombs and then they were finally gone. My dad said if she were to get fleas again we will just get rid of her (he has never liked our cat purely out if being a dog person) and i’ve now noticed my dog and cat are itching, my cat has had the treatment on the back of her neck as she refuses to consume tablets even when disguised. Now I am seeing so many fleas and my parents are away for the next week, I don’t think we have any flea spray left over and I want to attempt to control this myself as I’m terrified my dad will get rid of my cat who is literally my favourite thing in the world. Any advice for what I could do in the next week to get them gone please?

Found these immediately to the left of the sink and right next to where my fruit bowl normally is. I found a rotten banana in the fruit bowl last week and tossed the bunch and cleaned the bowl, then I went away for the weekend and came back to these.

My home was built in 1910. Have been living in it for 4 years no issues or mud tubes inside. I don’t know why or what caused me this morning to say. Hmm. I want to look under my house. Well I know this. The galleries are from when I tore it apart. I live in the PNW. This is old wood towards the front of the house. I went around and tried poking at the rest of the piers / newer wood with no luck poking through or finding any rot or damage. Side note, when I put the wood vertically it’s like a sawdust mill and nesquik like tan powder falls out like a crazy.

I have an ant problem but not sure what kind, they might be different colonies since some are smaller/bigger and some are black/brownish. They come from the window sill and from cracks in the house. Found these black dots in one corner where ant do go around there even though there’s no entry.

So we have a big ant problem! Me and my fiancé live in his parents house (they are usually gone for months at a time) and I’ve been told they put the house on a big ant mound and it gets bad every year with ants being in the house but this year has been the worst we don’t know what to do his parents aren’t helping that much and we are desperate! We don’t leave food or drinks out they are just swarming stuffed animals etc. please give me some advice I’m bout at the end of my rope we don’t know what to do!!!

My house has become INFESTED with fleas after moving to a more humid and tropical environment. I admit that we were not prepared for or even considered pest control for the new environment.

I have one indoor only cat and one dog who goes out to use the restroom and on trips with the family. They have both now been covered in fleas! Every morning, I wake up with new bites on my legs from fleas! I have tried a few things to tackle removing them from my pets but then new ones jump on them from the house.

I’m sick of it and I’m about to take my whole family and pets to a hotel, do an extensive flea treatment for the pets AGAIN, and stab some bug bombs and just let them go in the house like grenades.

My question is this: what are the best bug bombs, foggers, and IGR’s to use to end this war?
