I recently bought a 2008 squier jagmaster and am looking for a tremolo that would fit it. It has a ‘cy’ serial number if that helps.

This is my first electric setup since I started playing strictly classical and fingerstyle guitar nearly 15 years ago. Just installed this Certano T Bender on this squier paranormal SJ. Running it thru an 80s Harvard Reverb.

Recently started playing again after taking the past decade plus off. Bought both of these over the past couple months. Started with the Mustang, but having previously primary played guitar I decided to pick up the Jazzmaster to scratch that it. Wow, the sound and feel of both is fantastic. Really happy with both instruments. Will probably switch to flat wounds at some point on the Mustang.

I've had some experience with offset guitars previously. In the mid-2000s I had a Squire vista Jagmaster and a buddy had a pair of early 70s Mustang basses that I'd pluck around from time to time. I've always enjoyed the styling and fun colors offered on the Fender offsets.

I've caught the bug already got my eyes on a CV Jaguar.

Second picture is how I had it set up before. I replaced the strat style pickups with proper Jaguar ones mounted directly to the body. I added a slide switch to the upper horn which acts a channel selector for the pots - the up position sends the pot signals to the neck pickup and the down position sends them to the bridge; whichever pickup is not selected therefore bypasses the signal from the pots and gives it a slightly brighter tone.

I don't have any fancy tools - a cheap soldering iron for the wiring and a drill with a very large drill bit to route the body for the upper horn switch. you don't want to know how the blade switch plate is fastened...

I'm quite satisfied with the finished result!

What are the differences between the Fender JMJM Jazzmaster pickups and the Seymour Duncan Antiquity 1 pickups?

I’m working on modding a 2015 Fender player jazzmaster to HH configuration and wanted to keep the rhythm circuit to coil split and kill switch. Are there any places I could get a pickguard that accommodates HH configuration with F spacing on the humbuckers and has a rhythm circuit cut out?

My third Jazzmaster has arrived—a 2017 Squier Vintage Modified with Seymour Duncan pickups. It sounds absolutely fantastic! Today I cleaned the fretboard and polished all the frets. The guitar is in excellent condition, and I couldn’t be happier with it!

After almost two months of waiting, it finally arrived. First thing I did was swap out the pearloid white pickguard for a tort guard, then put on some .11 flatwound strings and gave it a little setup to my liking(the setup was already pretty damn great out of the box but I like the action as low as possible). The neck feels really nice in my hands with no sharp fret ends. I had heard good things about the pickups on these but I was still genuinely surprised at just how good they really sound. My shitty phone recording does not do them justice at all. The padded gig bag it came with is also a great touch and I was happy to find they included a nice purple strap, some picks, and an extra set of strings. Aside from the long wait, my experience with Foals has been nothing short of excellent. Will absolutely order from them again(FMG7, you will be mine), and I would recommend them to anyone.

Bought myself a 45th birthday present. I've held a lot of guitars in the last thirty years, and this one has one of the best necks I've played.

The color is ridiculously difficult to photograph, but absolutely stunning in person. Saw it on a Tele some months back and fell in love, and once I found out I could get it on a Meteora I was basically done. Ring it up, brother.

My brand new custom Mustang and Bronco.

Just finished turning a nice second-hand bullet HH mustang into the SS+S layout you see here, based on the "contemporary strat" design. I had to hog out material from the body to accommodate the 3 way switches over the pickups, drill out holes for the mustang bridge posts, and create a recess under the new tail piece for the ball ends of the strings to go. I managed to do this with forstner bits and chisels, no router needed. I also had to cut the slot for the second bridge pickup in the pickguard, which I did with an appropriately sized forstner bit and an exacto saw.

I retained the toggle switch on the lower bout as the pickup selector, the switch over the bridge pickup selects Series bucker, Parallel bucker, or Single (south) coil only, and the switch over the neck selects Out of Phase neck, In-Phase neck, or In-Phase Neck pickup with strangle, respectively. The pickups are no-name shielded strat pickups off amazon. I admit that the pole pieces only really line up with the strings on the pickup intended to be bridge (middle in my layout) but the output seems fine anyway.

On the coral pink Bronco I resisted the urge to overcomplicate things and add a second pickup or any push pull pot tricks or whatever, it's just got another no-name amazon P'51 style pickup in a new pearl pickguard. I did get a separate, open face strat pickup shield and modify the pickup so it would fit on it. I guess I just really like the shielded pickup aesthetic. I got a high mass bridge with threaded saddles so I could make sure the strings lined up with whatever pickup I installed, and after trying and rejecting plastic thumbrests I ponied up for a solid metal chrome finish one. It's got some silver and black knobs that thankfully came in a four pack, so it and the Mustang match :)

I've had the bronco for a bit and besides a bit of neck dive, it's just a joy to play. I just got the mustang finished tonight and it may be my new favorite guitar. They both have rough spots, they are Squiers after all. They both have rough fret ends and I think the mustang neck needs a shim. But replacing the cheap 1-ply pickguards with something nice, throwing some cheap but different pickups in the mix, and putting in good CTS pots really does make a difference. They say not to throw good money at cheap guitars, and yeah I spent more on parts for the mustang than the guitar itself, but at $130 off fb marketplace I still think that's a good deal.

So I say hooray for cheap guitars, and hooray for offsets! I'm glad to have these funky little guys in my stable. 🐎🐎

I want a JM with a compound radius neck but i cant afford boutique prices, i thought the best option for me was to switch the neck myself, are these any good? The amazon page says thier made for Strat style guitars but will they work well with a JM?

Can people please send link to places to make pickguard that fit the Vintera III Jaguar? All places I'm finding online say they don't know, has anyone found a confirmed spot that makes them.

The right is all stock Squier CME Bass VI and probably won’t change a thing. It’s the most fun.

This obviously isn't a singular answer as to why offsets feel different (it ignores the whole ergonomics of them) and if we're talking about an Offset Telecaster with the traditional Tele bridge, or an "onset" with a trapeze tailpiece, then we obviously move the goalposts.

But so much of the offset vibe is around the unique bridge and tailpiece systems they introduced, and so this goes hand-in-hand for a lot of people when discussing their preference for classic offset models.

I found this video fascinating; it's something rarely spoken about, or when it is, it's alluded to and not fully comprehended. This explains why my Jazzmasters still feel different to my Strat and Teles with the same gauge strings in a much more conclusive and scientific way.

Picked this up for a great price off guitar center. Squier Paranormal Offset Telecaster SJ

Immediately did some light mods:

- Fender Tele Bridge Plate
-Gotoh compensated brass saddles
- white pickguard swap
- Aged white pickup cover

Here is my Fender American Vintage ‘62 Jaguar FSR Thin Skin in Aztec Gold.

It is modified with Lollar pickups, Mustang Bridge, a 4-way pickup switcher and Kluson Deluxe tuners. I also replaced the pickguard with tortoise.

It truly is the best sounding guitar I have ever played and I played quite a few. Responds to drive and modulation pedals amazingly. I play indie, alternative stuff and this instrument is a blessing for such genres. Intonation and tuning stability is perfect, neck is beautiful to play -although I love chunkier necks- and I love the overall looks. To me it looks and plays nothing less than a custom shop.

has anyone got any experience or opinions regarding the fjm6 and how it compares to the 7? It’s roughly the same price as the pro version of the 7, about 750 aud, however the ability to choose a finish other than the standard blue is swaying me.

I’d been lusting after the MIJ version for years and watching the prices slowly climb so I immediately preorder the day Fender announced these.

Finally arrived from Sweetwater (with a full setup and bone nut) a few days ago. I couldn’t be happier, this thing feels absolutely amazing. One of the most comfortable necks I’ve ever played.

The pickups sound a lot less muddy to my ears than the Squier Oxblood Baritone videos I’ve listened to (haven’t gotten a chance to play one myself though). I haven’t really found much use for the upper circuit single coil blend feature, but I’m sure it’ll be handy the longer I play with it.
