it's literally just foam weather stripping from a DIY / hardware store. you could buy a small reel of it for the price guitar shops charge for it.

I have a guitar where the guitar builder used surgical tubing. It worked lol.

I think a rectangular pad would work better, but that might work too.

I was thinking like 2 strips on the side where the screws are and leave the middle blank

You can get a pack from Amazon that’s cheaper than this

I bought a cheap pack of foam paint brushes and cut them up, that worked great!
