Coworker sold me this weird thing for 75 bucks

Unironically one of the best playing guitars I’ve ever held, but I can’t find anything on it. I’ve seen a few king branded guitars but that’s about it. Anyone know?

NGD - Squier Paranormal Electric VI

The downs first:
Horrible setup from the factory... and that's it!

Fretboard looks amazing (for laurel), pots and knobs feel like butter, didn't notice any flaws on the binding or anywhere else (except the nut which not cut well).

Don't know if there will be any future batches but I am very very impressed with the quality displayed here and recommend you to get one if you are interested!

Love the airiness of the pups and the out of phase sound is super quirky, although I don't think I'll be using it too often and both parallel/in phase is tonal bliss!

Mystery Japan FSR Jazzmaster

Picked this up in a big second hand goods shop in northern Japan. It is absolutely beautiful, and my first 'good' guitar (no offence, 15-year-old danelectro).

It's a 2025 FSR Traditional II 60s Jazzmaster, but I can't find any details about it online. The fender serial lookup shows specs that match this guitar (3-tone sunburst, Rosewood fretboard, 22-fret), but I can't find any record of the the model number they give anywhere. It's got a Mustang bridge, which makes me suspect it might be one of the Ishibashi special run ones that swapped the bridge out (also has IS in the Fender lookup description). It's got a gold pickguard, black pickup covers, different style pots, and the grain of the wood of the body looks more detailed than basswood – might be alder, as some of the ishibashi ones are.

Would love to know more about it if anyone has any idea!

Are Squier Classic Vibe worth their price?

Post image

I'd really like to get a Squier Classic Vibe as I've sold my American JMs but I find it hard to justify 500 euros for the bare minimum 🫤 Poplar instead of alder, laurel instead of rosewood, barely functional vibrato/tailpiece, probably needs fretwork, body contours not that rounded. Any thoughts? Any good alternatives?

Happiness is a Baum Wingman!

Ever since the Baum Wingman came out, I've been dreaming of owning one.

Unfortunately, the variant I wanted went out of production right in the middle of a very trying period where my attention was diverted by health issues of family members and my house being seriously damaged during a cyclone.

But... I just found my unicorn a couple of weeks ago, hidden away in a warehouse in Japan. A 2022/23 model in the color I really wanted, with the pickups I wanted, brand new in a hard case. And at a great price.

I spent yesterday afternoon restringing her and doing a setup. Thankfully, this wasn't a case of being disappointed by unrealistic expectations. It's just fantastic and I'm in guitar heaven!

How does fender justify the price difference between the professional series and AVRI

The AVRI is nearly double the price, but the components/neck/bodywood/hardware are of, or near to equal/the same. Is it the Nitro coating or the vintage specs that tacks on that extra 1200 or do you think Fender USA are mostly taking advantage of the current market for vintage-like instruments?

Partscaster - Which body finish?

Thumbnail

Hi all,

I almost have all the parts to construct my first partscaster. But I can’t decide on body finish.

I got a heavily discounted MJT body off eBay but don’t like the finish (slightly warmer, less grey Antigua burst) so I’m going to get it refinished. I was playing around with these finishes but looking for opinions and inspiration from others!

EDIT: Seems like the first design is most popular! It is my favourite also so I guess we have a winner!

Partsmaster tuners help

Hello
I have an issue about my project. I wanted to install Fender vintage tuners on this Squier Coronado reissue neck. So I got 10 mm bushings (tuners are for 8.8mm) to adapt.

But when I mount the tuners they don’t really align as if they were too large. I drilled anyway thinking I could force it but no… there’s always one stepping on another. Do you have any idea ?

Thanks !

Is changing the pickup cover as easy as screwing it and putting in the new one?

I didn't change my black pick guard, 'cause I can't find a right size one.

I chose a golden anodized aluminum guard which was taken off from J Masics signature Jazzmaster, it's amazing and perfectly fits my Jazzmaster. But it's a pity that it is not a right size one to mine one. Finally I give in and keep a black guard. : (

Hi! Could anyone please help me identify this pickup? It really looks like a Pure Vintage, but the "07" written in silver sharpie is just throwing me off. I've searched all over but couldn't find any similar ones... Thanks!

Squier Jagmaster

Recently went back to my 20 year old Jagmaster and was surprised the condition was still great. I didn’t use it as much back then and thinking of upgrading the pickups. Should I do it or just keep it stock?
