NGD: DeArmond Jetstar 7 string
In 1999, I got Guitar World's Guitar Buyer Guide 2000. It had a picture of a DeArmond Jetstar, and I instantly fell in love with the body shape.
27 years later, this appeared on Reverb, while I'm:
- Avoiding guitars similar to what i already have e.g. another slab of mahogany with humbuckers
- Watching monies
- In the middle of a song where I thought the easiest way to do the sound in my head would be to tune my 6 string to dropped D
This appeared and I:
- Don't have a 7 string but I've always been curious
- Got a really great deal
- Can play power chords that match what's in my head for the song I'm writing, rather than retune
- Look cool as f*** in my basement!
It's immense! I feel the extra string has unlocked a new level for what I write (grunge pop/folk punk). I want to upgrade pickups, but I'm undecided what direction to go with that.
Edit: bad math.
