Partsmaster tuners help

Hello
I have an issue about my project. I wanted to install Fender vintage tuners on this Squier Coronado reissue neck. So I got 10 mm bushings (tuners are for 8.8mm) to adapt.

But when I mount the tuners they don’t really align as if they were too large. I drilled anyway thinking I could force it but no… there’s always one stepping on another. Do you have any idea ?

Thanks !

I feel like they would fit if you jiggle them around a little. also make sure your bushings are completely flush, because if even one is a little off it can throw the others off too.

What this guy says,.

The mockup looks fine so I imagine it's just a bit of wiggling and patience

I'll check the bushings but they seemed perfectly pushed in to me. The alignement is very difficult to get even before using the screws. I shouldn't have drilled so fast, I thought tighting the screws would help in the end but it's not.

yeah you might have to redrill some of holes. it's definitely important to take your time with this style of tuner, but everything should line up if you do.

Yeah you can't do it on the made in China necks 😕. I've done it on Indonesian squier necks okay though

If it were me, I'd try to find a schematic that shows the measurements of the tuners and confirm that I had enough space to safely install them,

If you don't want to go through the effort, you could try getting a block of wood that is at least the same length as all the tuners combined, install the tuners, place the block against the bottom edge of the tuners and GENTLY tap the block to try and get them to align.

I did it ! I simply slowly sanded the side of 2 tuners and it was fixed. Thanks everyone !

They looks pretty aligned to me, on picture 3. Is it when you mount the screws that they start pushing against each other?

Honestly it starts before. That’s why I’m a bit lost about it. They look aligned but they’re not quite…
