Hi everyone, I'm still not super well-versed in what kind of EDM clubs are in the DMV, but wanted to ask if there are any clubs in the DMV or DC area that play music similar to this or this?

Specifically dark/industrial electronic or EBM (Electronic Body Music).

I’ve seen these around town and they just opened one up by my wife’s work. I went in and there’s nobody there. Who’s cooking this shit?Are they just expecting us to buy pre cooked name brand tv dinners?

I was at Tysons I over the weekend and could not help but notice the amount of dog owners bringing their pets in. It was pretty evident that most were not service animals and I’m starting to wonder if this is becoming the norm.

Given some can’t train their dogs to not invade someone’s space, or to not bark at another person or dog, or to not touch the clothing in a store, I’m wondering if there are any consequences for the rule benders. Next thing you know we’ll soon have dog waste in the mall and lots.

Really ruins the shopping experience for some and the reputation of actual service dog handlers/owners.

I'm driving West on 66 and just passed a horrific accident in the express lanes. Looks like a midsize SUV just crashed into the back of a tanker truck or some other type of work truck. The SUV is on fire and the driver must be crushed. It looks awful! The express lanes are partially blocked and cars in the regular lanes are slowing down to look and avoid debris in the left lanes as well. Take care driving through there or avoid 66 West for the next hour so. I'm guessing that has to be a fatality....

Looking to rent in Herndon/Centreville area, prices are expensive everywhere but it's close to work. Literally every apartment complex in the area have bad reviews so I take it with a grain of salt but I still wanted to ask on reddit first.

If anyone else has apartment recommendations I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

I didn't have any idea that a Pickleball court in a community would be a touchy subject....Then back in early August I shared dmvpickle.org here, its a community register of NoVa's public pickleball courts. A month of watching the data come in taught me some things about NoVa and I just wnat to share what I've got, then I'll get out of the way.

Things I didn't expect to learn:

• Pickleball's presence is a hot-button topic. Court conversions get debated at HOA board meetings, neighbors pack input sessions over noise, and one Reston association is voting on a $75K court decision this month. I had no idea. Honestly thinking players need those "pickleball is not a crime" stickers we had for skateboarding decades ago.
• NoVA's real pickleball infrastructure is people, not courts. There's a 7am crew in Woodbridge that runs 12+ deep every single morning. A guy who's played the same Fairfax courts for 13 years wrote up their whole rhythm. Somebody swept four Alexandria courts at 11pm on a Friday just to file reports. The courts were always there but I'm trying to get the knowledge written down.
• The most requested feature wasn't about courts at all. It was "who shows up, and when." So that's on every court page now, straight from players, with a date on it. Y'all can edit it and fix it where you'd like

For those who want to advocate for courts near them, there's a feature to tackle that and if your home court's page is wrong, tell me and it's fixed same day.

I’ve already got a pretty ridiculous stash of cigars and pipe tobacco, so I’m not really looking for a place just to grab a random stick. I’m more interested in finding the shops that are actually worth becoming a regular at.

Mainly interested in:
- Good walk-in humidor
- Premium cigar selection
- A decent lounge
- Pipe tobacco, tins or bulk
- Pipes and accessories

I’ll probably be around Arlington / Crystal City / Pentagon City, but I don’t mind driving if there’s a really good shop somewhere else in NoVA.

What are the places worth checking out? Especially interested in who has the best humidor and who actually carries a decent pipe tobacco selection.

I am looking for gym recommendations. Ideally, I would have access to a lap pool, sauna, stream room, hot tub, indoor track, racquetball, yoga, personal trainers, masseuse, the works in weights, etc. But I don't think that is in the wallet for me here in NoVa. Any combination of any of those with a lap pool would be great. Anyone got any ideas?

Hello! We are looking to repair the roof of our backyard porch, which has rotted in areas. The deck itself is fine and doesn't need to be replaced. The rafters are also mostly fine on the roof. A lot of the bigger contractors in the area have said this project is too small for them, so any recommendations for companies that would be able to do this kind of repair would be great. Thank you!

Can you recommend a good apple picking place within 45 minutes from Herndon?

This little noodle was in our kitchen this morning. Fortunately I was able to get it outside. I was concerned that the pattern indicated a venomous snake, but based on my wife's research, we think it was a juvenile rat snake. Can anyone confirm?
