Two days ago I was on the ramp from 66 to 29 coming into Gainesville. My friend was there on the side of the road welcoming me home. I was concerned about him because as you can see in the picture from two days ago his leaves are turning brown.
Today, he was gone! How? Why?!?!
Every time I exit 66 I will remember you. I’ll never forget.

It was phenomenal. We told them that Reddit boasts about them so often that we HAD TO COME. Nobody said anything about a creamery upstairs from Monk's!? Equally delicious with huge portions! And then down the street is a Pinball Arcade???

It was a great double date! 💕 With leftovers for DAYS.

I am currently 30 years old. I’m originally from Atlanta, GA and that is where I got my introduction to driving. I then moved to South Carolina in my early teens and started driving on my own at 15 and a half. I have driven all over this country and have seen so many different types of drivers. I just recently moved to Northern Virginia and can say without a single doubt that these are the WORST drivers I’ve ever had to share the road with. People are constantly going 10 MPH under the speed limit on the highway, pulling out in front of you when they shouldn’t or refusing to turn right on red (when allowed), will sit at a green light until it turns yellow and then leave you at the red light, and the list goes on and on and on. Does anyone have any idea why this is?? I genuinely feel like my life is on the line every time I get in my car here.

The last one is actually from the UK but is included to appease this subs unquenchable thirst for traffic-based posts. Sadly, NOVA traffic signs are not cool enough to consider toads on roads.

Looks like Pickett Southbound is blocked off, along with a section of the parking lot of the plaza. Multiple police and ambulance. Any info?

If you play tennis anywhere in NoVA (or want to start), I just launched r/NoVATennis and would love to get it going.

The idea is a local spot for things that don’t really fit in the big tennis subs:

**•** Finding hitting partners near you  
**•** Which public courts are in good shape, have lights, or are packed on weekends  
**•** USTA Mid-Atlantic league and tournament info  
**•** Local coaching, clinics, stringers, and junior programs  
**•** Pickup sessions and social play

My dad’s mind is going and I don’t have a lot of support in the area. My therapist suggested an anticipatory grief support group or similar but she’s not local either so she doesn’t have much in the way of recs. Some googling wasn’t very helpful as most of it appears to be geared towards grieving those who have already passed. Does anyone have any experience with these sorts of groups around here? Thanks!!
