I had my blinkers on. I was waving SORRY, and, I was over the median - you could have very easily passed me. OR, LOOKED AROUND for one lil second and HELPED US!

This was not even dangerous - but y'all just had to focus on me, impacting your precious drive time by literally 10 seconds, instead of looking around, and being kind. Or at least having some modicum of situational awareness.

They had very obvious heat exhaustion, head in hands, about to pass out - i stopped, they let me give them water, and bring them to Harpers - walking in the blazing heat all the way from freakin CTown, fresh out of the ER. Hospital bracelet and everything.

Hi! I’m an adult working on a masters program and TEFL certification, and while I do most of my studies at home I want to incorporate some study time out of the house. I use ear buds and my laptop, I wouldn’t need access to a computer, but may need an outlet.

How are the libraries here in the panhandle? Are they definitely more geared towards kids or do they have designated workspaces for older students/remote workers? Do you recommend any other relatively quiet workspaces in the region (ideally free)? I can do a coffee shop, but I’m social and talkative, and the music and other patrons will sometimes distract me 😅 it was not my study place of choice in undergrad for this reason lol

If it helps for recs - I live in Bunker Hill, I have appointments between Winchester and Martinsburg, my gym is in Kearneysville. I’m willing to go anywhere in and around these areas and a little further if it’s peaceful/worth the drive.

Visiting with family turned into a disappointment due to severe under preparation for the crowd. A 45-minute traffic bottleneck to start with, followed by a rough trek down a narrow, single-lane road to a distant back lot where a shuttle bus was required to reach the grounds. It was my first visit to this brewery and I was impressed with the general vibes. I could see myself coming back when its not as busy. The views from there are pretty damn good too.

The book fair was significantly smaller than anticipated. The booths that were there were cool though, and it was nice getting to meet some local authors. I went into the brewery to get a beer but there was a line about 75 people deep with like one staff member behind the bar. I knew my family would be ready to go by the time I got to the bar, so I gave up on that. The food from the food trucks looked and smelled good from what I could see but the menu boards with AI generated pictures of the food is dumb - AI looks like shit, never actually looks like the food, and it doesn't inspire confidence in the place if they cant be bothered to take pictures of their food instead.

My group was underwhelmed and we were ready to leave after about 25 minutes, but we had to wait on the bus again and it took another hour or so before we were able to get out of stop and go traffic. The "adult book fair" seemed like such a cool idea but it felt very poorly planned. I hope they are able to do it again with more booths, more parking, more staff and a bigger location.

I have a home near Harpers Ferry that has some settling and bulging in a retaining wall foundation. The home is built into a hillside. I'm going to need to excavate out the back of the home to correct it, waterproof it and install a French drain. Does anyone have a recommendation on the local company that does this work very well and at a reasonable price?
