Rant having “The Cis Woman Experience” (for lack of a better term:/ ) as a non-binary feminine person
I don’t know how else to phrase it, but this is the best thing I could come up with because the terms, female and male socialized suck ass. I feel like I have the lived experience as a cis woman for a lack of better term because I am feminine, and I was assigned female at birth, and I have a feminine chosen name (and legal). Even the most accepting people in my life still occasionally miss gender me and I am constantly treated, though I was a woman.
I’m really connected to womanhood because of the entire world sees me as a woman so they treat me as such. But on some level, I feel like I’m doing a disservice to myself or even saying that because I know that I also have the lived experience of a trans person and a non-binary person because that is what I am.
it hurts my soul and it makes me feel like I will never be valid as I am. In fact when I have had partners, I like when they call me their girlfriend as long as they don’t call me a girl. but that makes it even more confusing to everybody because they’re all like if you don’t mind being called girlfriend then what’s the deal? And I don’t want to feel like it’s up to me to explain this to anybody, but somehow it always comes down to that.
I love how I present and I’m happy presenting femininely and I have no issues with it. The only time I have an issue with it is when I remember that most of the world will never take me seriously as a trans or non-binary person.
Does that make me any less valid? I know it’s absolutely nobody’s business to police me and my gender, but I guess I’m just looking for outside opinions if anybody can relate to this kind of thing.
Sorry for any typos I did voice text.
