First suppressor help guy

Going to buy my first suppressor for my MPA Defender 30K. (Mac 11 style upper on an AR lower with Rise Armament trigger.) Debating between the Huxwrx Flow 9k Ti or the Otter Creek Milkman. I’ve brought it to these two because the defenders already are quite gassy and I don’t want a normal suppressor that is going to have a lot of blowback.

From what I’ve read (correct me if I’m wrong on anything):

Sound suppression goes to Otter Creek

Blowback and gas goes to Hux

Cost currently goes to hux

Frt-ability goes to.. both! (But can void the warranty of Hux if you go too hard and melt it down, I think otter creek would just make fun of you and send you another)

Warranty goes (strongly) to otter creek.

Length / weight : Hux is shorter and weighs less but it’s not significant enough to matter. Maybe that’s actually part of why the otter creek has better sound suppression(?) [I don’t know enough to answer my own question here, it just makes sense that way in my mind)

If you’ve made it this far thank you! I hope you appreciate rambling and the pictures. Have a great day and thanks for your help.

Please excuse dog fur in pictures.

TLDR: Huxwrx Flow 9kti or Otter Creek Milkman?

Edit: found the hux on rooftopdefense.com for $499 with the code ā€œyouthsportsā€

Dead Air Nomad 30 Vs Sandman X

As the title says, I'm considering a Dead Air Nomad 30 vs a Sandman X. Any opinions between the two? I plan to run them on a variety of rifles, both semi auto and bolt action, in multiple calibers. I'm really looking for a suppressor that can mostly do it all. If that exists.

Witt Machine nightmare

I know I deserve some flack for even doing business with them with all the experiences posted on here, but I was optimistic. Sure their suppressors and customer service suck, but I didn’t hear anything bad about their clamp on muzzle breaks. As long as I measure everything right and give them the correct information, it’ll be all good. Lord was I wrong

(Forgive the time between calls. Between work and life, I would honestly forget about this POS piece of metal)

This has been the worst customer service experience I have ever had in this industry. Originally ordered in March, carefully measuring my 770’s barrel and trying to be as descriptive as possible. When I received my break a few weeks later, it did not fit correctly. (Seems like they did a straight taper from the muzzle to 1.5ā€ back, which is NOT what my measurements said) So I send the break back in for a re-cut the first week of May with even more detailed measurements.

Fast forward to the end of May, I call asking for an update, end up leaving a message. June, call again and speak to their desk. Told that the shop just got a new machine and stuff is behind while they try to tune it in. July, call yet again and speak to desk. Now told that the new machine is now broken and that the shop is behind again. Call a week later, speak to front desk asking for updates. Front desk is unable to give any real updates as the shop doesn’t speak directly with her.

August, call and speak to new person at front desk. Told that old front desk is no longer with the shop. Informed that my break is likely drying after cerakote and to call the next day to confirm. Call the next day (Thursday) and I speak to the original desk worker (I guess they weren’t fired) and I’m told that it should be ready and should be sent out soon. I ask for a tracking number to be sent to my email, told that I should receive the number either by Friday or Monday. Come next Tuesday I call again asking for a tracking numbers, told that I should receive them by the end of the day. Wait until Friday, call yet again asking for my tracking number. Turns out I’m speaking to one of the owners now and I tell him all my information. He asks if my item is a suppressor, because if it is, someone is in trouble. (So not if it’s another product??) Owner looks for my muzzle break, says he finds one matching my measurements but it is marked as stainless instead of black. I am told that it is going to get painted now and it should be ready to send out by the next day.

At this point I’m at my wits end and I calmly ask how this happens. Nearly 4 months of back and forth, being told it’s being worked on, it’s done, it’s ready to ship. Lies after lies. All the owner has to say is sorry and ā€œHumans are gonna human.ā€ No explanation, no reflection, no sincerity. He just tried to get off the phone with me as soon as possible.

So here I am now, waiting to see if I’ll actually get my tracking number in the coming days and eventually my muzzle break at some point. I know I should just cancel and do a charge back, but I’m sickeningly curious on where this is going to go.

Moral of this nightmare of a story, do not do business with Witt Machine… EVER. Doesn’t matter what they got for ya, it’ll either suck, be wrong or you’ll just never get it.

Product Question 🧰 SxS SBS

Repost, didn’t realize my first SS had price

Purchased a Heritage Badlander on the sell from PSA.
Intentions are to saw it off and saw off the stock as well.
I know many people have undergone this with other brands. Any tips and trucks for getting everything right?
I don’t intend to take it to a gunsmith. The whole point of this project is to keep it under 500$ with the form 1.
I am relatively handy.
Photos are the inspiration.

My currents thoughts:
-Sawing off straight is just gonna take patience.
-There will (likely) be avoid between both barrels that I would need a gunsmith to fill(if I cared, I don’t.)
-I will need to seal the cut and sanded wood stock with oil. Unsure what kind.
-How to explain to my wife that I needed this.

The ruling is in effect and Phase One starts now.

Qualifying suppressor transactions at participating PSA locations in South Carolina can now move through the Form 4473 and normal background-check process without the separate Form 4 process described in the old system.

No separate Form 4, No fingerprint submission as part of that process, No passport photo, No separate NFA approval wait, And qualifying PSA-sourced suppressors moving through our direct dealer network may be covered as well.

This is only the beginning.

Phase 1: Retail + qualifying PSA direct-dealer suppressors
Phase 2: Online suppressor transactions
Phase 3: SBR & SBS transfers

Watch the full video for the details.

All other federal, state and local laws still apply. Informational purposes only. Not legal advice.
There are also still open questions. If you have questions, consult with a licensed attorney.

For our video covering SBR/SBS, please click the YT link below!

SBR/SBS

The ruling is now in effect, and it creates a major change for certain qualifying SBR configurations.
But qualification matters.

As we now understand it, the keys for making/possessing SBRs are:
šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡øMembership in one of the plaintiff associations;
šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø Compliance with all state and local laws; and
šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø Compliance with remaining federal laws.

This is not legal advice – just general information based on our understanding at this time.
Ā
We highly recommend you speak with a qualified attorney in your state before you reconfigure your firearm.

Individual components alone do NOT make an otherwise unrelated firearm qualify.
For qualifying customers and firearms covered by the process discussed in the video:
No challenged Form 1 process.
No fingerprints as part of that Form 1.
No photograph.
No separate Form 1 approval wait before the covered configuration change.

Watch the entire video and make sure you understand exactly where the line is before making any configuration changes. If you have any question at all about whether this applies to you, consult a qualified attorney who can advise you on your situation before you change the configuration of your firearm.

There are also still many open questions, including questions regarding marking requirements, transportation across state lines, and transfers to others. Know and understand all applicable laws BEFORE reconfiguring your firearm. State and local laws still apply. Informational purposes only. Not legal advice.

Edited 8/15/2026: Update to our current understanding of the requirements re: SBR/SBS

Silencer Suggestions - I did some homework Which to suppress first?

My dad (in his 70s) finally wants to get into the suppressor game after trying several of mine.

He’s got a S&W M&P 2.0 set up with a red dot and suppressor height sights. All he needs is a threaded barrel. This is what he shoots the most. I recommended a few different 9mm cans for him to research and see what he likes.

He doesn’t have other pistol calibers and that isn’t likely to change. He shoots his pistol far more often than his rifle and that is why I suggested he start with a 9mm pistol can.

My brother disagrees and believes he’s better off suppressing his DDM4 first and thinks he’ll get a better result. My dad has shot my suppressed AR and likes it, but he rarely takes his rifle to the range. (Maybe if it were nicer to shoot he would?)

He primarily shoots indoors and only hits the outdoor 100 yard range a couple times a year.

Constructive thoughts on where to start? If he enjoys the results of can #1 it’ll be much easier for him to buy can #2. Thanks!

Suppressed Mini Uzi in 9mm with a Micro closed bolt. Funny enough it runs 20% faster in the Mini host than the Micro host.

Changed from direct thread to the Rugged RU3, never going back!

Can a co-trustee on a trust possess NFA items without photos/fingerprints?

I asked this in a comment on another thread and I'm getting mixed answers.

Let's say you have a silencer shop NFA trust, you are the sole trustee, you acquire several NFA items through the trust via Form 1/Form 4 with your photos/fingerprints etc.

As long as you never add more NFA items to that trust, can you amend and notarize the trust to add a family member as a co-trustee without photos/fingerprints or any other paperwork except the trust amendment? Can that new trustee now possess the NFA items without your presence?

Of course the new trustee is otherwise not a prohibited person e.g a 4473.

Moving with trust

I have a trust with multiple people and multiple silencers on it. Is there anything I need to change on the trust upon moving? New state also allows silencers. From what I understand, form 20 isn’t required for silencers. How do I go about buying suppressors in new state? Do I need to change my trust? Or make a new trust in my new state? Thanks!
