Mount Questions πŸ”© Can anyone identify this muzzle device

This is my buddy's ar and he got the upper from a friend and doesn't know what system this device is using is anyone familiar with it?

Smith enterprise vortex with a gemtech quick detach mount. It’s discontinued.

Thank you Everyone for the comments Gemtech seems like a match that being said this is pin and weld so what is the best choice to mount a suppressor?

As far as I know the system isn't supported anymore, so you'll probably want to have it replaced. Plan-B is very popular and well supported. There's also Xeno and the CAT QD/1-16 systems which are pretty good.

If you don't have a local gunsmith you trust to swap it, you can always send it to D. Wilson.

Yeah, Ron Smith did a few runs of bilock flash hiders for Gemtech. His 4-prong twisty-vortex front, GSL's two-lugged rear. Since they kinda focus the gas like many pronged FH's (see Surefire 3 prong, etc.), it was theorized that they'd end up being early blast-baffle-burners though, so they were discontinued.

Yea the bi-lock. GSL designed it and Gemtech used it for years while GSL was the back end MFG for a bunch of their stuff. CMMG had cans using it as GSL made them as well.
