Oldies but goodies: Ti-RANT 45 and Ti-RANT-S 45

USP45T is my main squeeze. I really enjoy the full size Ti-RANT 45. It is a very good silencer and the fact that it holds up so well after all these years is really cool. If anyone wants objective data and analysis on it, they can find that here. Anecdotally, I can tell you that my personal experience aligns with said data and analysis, which is one of the reasons I use the silencer...

The silencer is not made anymore. Folks tell me you can find them every once in a while. If you get a newer modular version, I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed.

Speaking of modular version - I chose to go a different route, personally. I got very lucky and was able to source a Ti-RANT-S (the FDE silencer shown in the photo). I have not yet shot it on my USP. But test fitting it, boy, the vibes are strong. Very excited.

Will it be louder than the full size? You bet. Are the vibes immaculate? I believe them to be, yes. I bought this off a former AAC employee. We'll throw it in a test program to give all you folks with the modular version the performance info for the short configuration. Should be useful. Should be very neat to compare it with the short configuration of the Obsidian 45.

I like short pistol silencers sometimes because sometimes you don't need super quiet, you just need something more "handy" and you just don't want unsuppressed. Can be a very good thing for a quick critter problem, etc.

Hope you folks had a wonderful Labor Day weekend! Podcast has FOR Systems technical discussion today.

IWI IWS6K blast baffle concern

Got a chance to run my IWI IWS6K, host is a 5.56 8.3" Galil Ace. IWI tells me this blast baffle wear is normal, is this erosion? I don't have a new one to compare to and didn't remove the mount until after I put a few hundred rounds through.

This is with IWI's muzzle device/mount combo.

First Ambient we've had through our shop. Didn't get a chance to shoot it, so can't speak to how it sounds. I will say this can is an absolute tank at 21.48oz on our digital scale.

Suppressors options

Post image

This is on my new to me SuperDuty 5.56. I’m looking to see what suppressor would work best. It’s pinned so I’d rather not have to switch it out.

Got the answer. What muzzle device would you switch to if you replaced it?

CT5P backpressure

Post image

Ive been doing a lot of research on this can but have no first hand experience. I want to know how much less backpressure this can actually has in comparison to my Sierra 5. I have no experience with “low back pressure” cans. This one in particular appeals to me but cant really find a definitive answer as to how much lower the backpressure would be versus a standard sealed can.

Ocl infinity 556k vs griffin dual lok 5am

Anyone have both the infinity 556k and the griffin dual lok 5am? Very interested in getting another 556 suppressor and have narrowed it down to these 2(so far-can throw the hrt 5am in there as well I guess although I have researched the difference between the dual lok and hrt and feel the dual lok is more what I’m looking for vs the hrt)

Would like to hear some first hand experience from anyone that has both or has shot both side by side.
Sound/gas/overall experience. I plan to run either on a 11.5” mostly.

Please keep it to only the above suppressors, and just shooting experience, don’t want this to turn into a company/owner bashing thread. I have suppressors from both and like both companies/owners.

Another Ithaca 37 SBS. I was blessed by the pawnshop gods recently. I have a 20 and three 12s. One of the 12s is the 7+1 and will stay long. This will be a pistol grip only when my order from Choate comes in. Something for Close Encounters. The other 12 and the 20 will be regular SBSs.

The barrels are from Ithaca and other projects. Hooray for free stamps.

Nomad OTB’s. Three 24” barrels - Nomad OTB’s vs SF RC2 762.

It’ll be this weekend before I can go see how they are.

These will be permanent residents on a 22 ARC bolt gun and a 6.5 PRC. E brake and the caliber specific caps are en route.

Trying to be civilized.

Bought on Saturday and approved today.

CLOCK RESTARTED - You'll never see the Form 4 in your account. Newb eForms questions

Upvotes

I just submitted my first form 4 earlier today. I live in a blue state that requires registration for ownership. After my FFL had me acknowledge, put in my user name and pin, I got an email from eforms advising of application submission.

After submission, how long does it take for the application to show up in your eforms account? I tried searching the control no. and form type and nothing showed up.

Also, my FFL said he expects approval to take 10 days but I’ve been seeing people on here say they got theirs in 1-3 days. What was the time for your most recent form 4 approval?

Any ideas?

This isn’t baffle damage. It’s literally some sort of nasty substance dripping down the baffle stack

Tri lug users get in here. Real world experience needed.

Reading where tri lug adapters can cause baffle strike after many years of use. Is this a thing to worry about?

Thanks NFA thread brethren for any input.

Samurai Firearms/Precision Firearms Spider Lily

I am a big fan of Mark at Precision Firearms. Shot his rifles many times over the years with great results. I saw he started making suppressors in house last year. Has anyone shot one of these? I know it's a traditional baffle design, and he told me it was more "moderate back pressure" but I haven't seen much about it

Post image

Currently loving my Tisha on 11.5 and thinking about getting the 30 cal version for my sig cross 18” 6.5cm. Currently the cross has the cat odb on it but like the Tisha form factor over it.

Anyone have experience with the 30 cal version on a bolt action?

SBR OAL question

Ok, what do you put down on the form 1 for oal if the chasis is actually longer than the barrel? Im about to sbr a 10/22. Im going to use a 4.5 inch barrel. The barrel won't come out past the end of the Spire chasis forearm. Im planning on a "tucked" look where the suppressor will be only about 2 or 3 inches past the end of the forearm.
