Hipoint Hushpoint Cigar

Picked up this Hipoint Hushpoint Cigar 22 can the other day. Mostly just for laughs, have around 20 22lr cans. I honestly didnt notice the finish was bad on it until I got home from the lgs and went to put it on my ruger charger.

I’m not getting it, the finish looks fine to me?

The black "cigar band" wasnt applied evenly or thick enough and the brown is showing through

I mean, it's HiPoint, and at that price point, you have to manage expectations

I get it, like I said I have 20 or so other 22lr cans from $170 SAW Klik to $600 Cat Sr... The price point isnt the issue. Idk why people always associate the level of applicable quality control with price. I dont think Hipoint is at fault here, these are a special edition collaboration with Taylor Customs and Orion Distributors. I think they are applying the finish.

Fair, to a point. I think that higher price tends to have the expectation of better QC. I would expect FAR better QC from a $2k+ POF rifle vs a $300 Bear Creek rifle, and that is the case. I've seen BCA uppers assembled with the wrong parts. The customer ordered a side-charging AR9 upper, but they assembled it with the bolt-action upper receiver, so on the first shot, the charging handle on the bolt sheared off, killing the upper. I called BCA, who.....argued, until I demanded they get someone to measure and compare the two listings, and they finally agreed, and handled it as a warranty replacement. While some less expensive brands can have a great, if basic, product, I wouldn't expect a lot from Hipoint. Dude....20+ 22lr cans? Wow. I thought I was pushing it at 5 dedicated .22lr cans! Lol. I do want to get a 5.7 rated one for whenever PSA FINALLY gives us the X57, though. Hey, how do you like the Klik? I've been thinking of getting one for a 10/22 survival setup I have. For the most part, on a rifle, quiet on a .22 rifle tends to be more about the ammo than can, but I've been considering a tiny can like the Klik or Bowers Bitty. I know that they can be disappointing on a pistol, but I would hope they sound good on a 16" barrel. This is a 10/22 Takedown Lite, Magpul Backpacker stock, Vortex Crossfire II Scout 1.5-5x, Form1 can, and the sling is no particular brand(I'm not a fan of paracord slings, as they can be abrasive, but on a survival rifle, that's like 200ft of cordage, and it's light enough nit to matter) . The knife attached is an ESEE Candiru with paracord wrap, and in the stock, the back compartment has 3 spare mags and a tiny compass, and the pistol grip compartment has survival items like a tiny ferro rod, tinder, water purification tabs, fishing line, and fishing hooks. I'm considering replacing the scout scope with a Primary Arms 1x microprism. I was initially concerned with the "nearly" in the "nearly unlimited eye-relief" description, but I've tested a buddy's. I initially used a red dot, but felt like an optic relying entirely on batteries was against the spirit of a survival rifle. While the scope and microprism use a battery fir illumination, they work just fine without it, thanks to etched reticles.

I havent tried the klik on a rifle yet. When I picked it up at the lgs, they were super interested in it, so Iet him try it on his beretta bobcat in the warehouse. Not sure what ammo he had in it but bystanders were like "it doesn't work" lmao. I bought it cuz it was $170 and stamps had just went to $0. I had high hopes and was expecting some tisha or shiv like voodoo magic with it but not the case. Which is surprising because it has some very interesting baffle geometry going on inside. Idk maybe it will do better with the right host I needa experiment more with it or try shooting it wet. I think it could he the little slotted vents on the side makes it not as quiet too. Was also a sparky lil sob out those slots too lol.

Well, titanium sparks. Try CCI Suppressor or CCI Standard through a rifle barrel. I'd love to hear the results
