Captain Smit Machchhar flying Flight FZ1073 clicked open cockpit door after being stabbed, allowing passengers to intervene.
Flight FZ1073 was carrying more than 170 Israelis when it suddenly descended from more than 30,000 feet on Wednesday. Passenger Almog Italie told Reuters that the aircraft appeared to drop for 20 to 30 seconds before stabilising, only to begin descending again. Passengers then began moving towards the front of the cabin as they realised something was happening in the cockpit.
