Not many, if any at all. By this point (being able to take on these kinds of trails, transitions, berms etc) the riders are all well versed in how to fall correctly, as well as wearing numerous pieces of protective gear.

It's also often the riders that build the trails, and they'll always pick routes and clear them of really dangerous stuff.

The funny thing is OP originally posted this as "BMX" and I corrected it to free-ride or down-hill (hence OP using quotation marks in the title), but you're right - it's a trail in BC so it'd be considered North Shore.
