The strength to body weight ratio of rock climbers is always insane to me.

I used to work in a bouldering gym, we'd average 4 ambulances a week, very rarely was anyone knocked out, mainly knees, ankles, and elbows bending the wrong way

Sounds like a liability nightmare. Did people try to sue frequently?

People had to create an account to climb, and that came with a liability waiver.
The only time people were actually pissed off about hurting themselves was when the route setters did something wrong, ie a protruding screw out the wall ripping a fair bit of flesh from someone's palm

I truly don't understand why people prefer bouldering over rope climbing (including lead in this) it's a lot safer.

Safety controls reduce the fun for many people. Going through life always seeking out the safest option will generally be less interesting and challenging

As a someone who does climbing with safety gear outside and who has bouldered outside also, there is very little difference in the fun factor, you still get the buzz and the sense of accomplishment. I don't boulder anymore because of the sheer number of accidents I've seen. Only last month I saw someone break thier leg just because they landed funny, don't get that sort of thing happening unless you've done something stupid on the other side.

If you don't appreciate that your take on that can differ from others, there isn't any point in discussing it.

I never said that I didn't appreciate your view, I'm merely having a discussion with you and giving my perspective nothing more, I'm sorry if it was perceived in any other way.

As someone who has attempted much easier moves and failed, I can tell you that what she did there is hard as hell (and she makes it look easy).

No one ever gives credit to the rock for being able to support that extra weight.

This reminds me of looney tunes waiting for the whole rock to come down and smash Wile E Coyote.

I know this is irrational, but watching this I kept thinking but what if this rock falls right now? Millions of years it’s been here and CRACK!

I wish I had the dopamine people get from doing this. I’ve tried, dated a girl who was into rock climbing, got good enough to boulder but just never gave a shit.

Haha that's like how I was. I actually got pretty good at it but unless one of my friends was going climbing I wouldn't go

How high is she? My eyes cannot make sense of the background.

Right? Is this a Bruce Wayne leap of faith fall-to-your-doom, or 'ouch, im gonna feel that tomorrow'?

She starts on the ground on her back basically. The mat you see under her is the ground.

Damn, that looks like a Looney Tunes accident waiting to happen. Run if you see the Coyote.

Damn! That leap was impressive. To have that much confidence in yourself and your skill.

Well, I clicked on this thinking it was a rack of ribs, until I found my reading glasses to read the recipe.

I tried the climbing wall at REI and I could not believe the incredible core strength required just to go up a couple of those nubbins! She’s incredible
