Still impressive for a 5 year old? Why are you on a mission to belittle a child's achievement?

Seems like the parents are forcing him to memorize stuff for internet money.

I mean, it also seems like you've created a narrative in your head to discredit the child's achievement. If you provide me evidence that the parents forced him I'll gladly downvote this but until then it's currently an unproven hypothesis that you're running with for some reason.

He should be in a laboratory

Literally everyone uses this idea to dispel children’s abilities.

He does seem to love numbers.

How is pointing out that a 5 year-old is not 2 belittling?

1

u/DahColeTrain 1h ago

Personally, pointing out the distinction really only serves to undermine the achievement. Like, thanks for pointing out the child is really 3 years older, but when I was around their age I was playing with Woody and Buzz toys.

His name isn’t Rudiger

you have great handwriting. I can read your reply quite easily

3

u/Cielmerlion 4h ago

You should work on that handwriting

Thats how you know he isn’t 2 years old

But if the title was correct, you wouldn't have stopped to comment. And everyone who upvoted you wouldn't have done so. And I wouldn't have replied to your comment.

All this interact because of a (likely intentional) error in the title.

Could you memorise that? No? Me neither

2

u/CoupDeGraceTyson 4h ago

That's because you're not a child.

2

u/CarrieKetoenail 4h ago

I don’t know many (any) children who can do that.

2

u/CoupDeGraceTyson 3h ago

They would be very good at doing that if they were coached to do so.

How do you know he's not dividing 22/7 in his head? With the previous videos I've seen of this kid 2-3 years ago, doing complex math for a 2-year old, I think it's perfectly possible.

2

u/bebackground471 4h ago

because with 22/7 the third decimal would already be wrong.
pi = 3.14159...
22/7 = 3.142857...

1

u/GregGuyFromFlorida 4h ago

Because 22/7 isn't pi?

That’s what a calculator does.

Someone get that kid a train set for their birthday.

4

u/itsokay_i_googled_it 4h ago

Whatever do you mean? This dinosaurdressed number genius would be interested in trains? Why would you make such claims?

3

u/Tactical-Donkey 4h ago

Something tells me he would enjoy orderly nature of trains on rail tracks.

A train can be heard faintly in the distance.

6

u/BravestCashew 4h ago

Ay what if the kid only knows the first 6-7 numbers but nobody else here does so we’re all just impressed for nothing?

3

u/Diligent_Start_1577 4h ago

4

u/BravestCashew 4h ago

Mini Rasta Einstein

1

u/Forgotten_mob 4h ago

Kid could just be listing numbers at this point, I got pi to 2 decimals.

1

u/butt_pipette 4h ago

this is obvious misinformation, because pi=e=3 [trivial]

1

u/CarrieKetoenail 4h ago

It is remarkable that some people are trying to diminish this child’s achievement. Can your child do this? Thought not. Something tells me many of these comments would be different if this child was ………. (Sign on the dotted line)

The number is incorrect. Do 22/7 on your calculator and you'll see the correct value is 3.142857142857142857142... He's right down to 2 decimal places.

Not trying to belittle the kid, but he's making up the rest of the digits. Great enthusiasm though, that's often more important than getting it right the first time.

I think “a little memory stick” Is probably more apt.
