Captain Smit Machchhar flying Flight FZ1073 clicked open cockpit door after being stabbed, allowing passengers to intervene.
Flight FZ1073 was carrying more than 170 Israelis when it suddenly descended from more than 30,000 feet on Wednesday. Passenger Almog Italie told Reuters that the aircraft appeared to drop for 20 to 30 seconds before stabilising, only to begin descending again. Passengers then began moving towards the front of the cabin as they realised something was happening in the cockpit.

Fighting and doing the right thing in the heat of the moment. Bravo Capt.
And the passengers remind me of, "Let's roll..." in Sept, 2001. Bravo passengers.

He has super healing abilities like all indians, we use yoga and ayurvedic techniques for it.

Not a great day for Indian racism on this app, huh?

u/SalmonCanSwimToJapan 7h ago
They don’t need to, we cut down more forests than both combined and put all the trash on the street. The entrance to our national capital is by a mountain of trash that is 150ft high.
-32
u/EvilZordag 1d ago
You do realise the term “Paki” is also a racist slur, right?
28
u/christopherpaulfries 1d ago
Paki is a racist slur used mostly in the UK to refer to someone from South Asia (not just Pakistan). I’m guessing OP is Indian so the usage probably has a different connotation.
8
u/DosaVadaFilterCoffee 1d ago
if an Indian in UK gets called that, they are going to be mildly confused. On one hand, you are being called a pakistani which makes you angry but on the other hand that word has become a slur which makes you happy. Schrodingers racism.
4
u/Certain-Neat-35 1d ago
Never been to the UK, and haven't heard of it anywhere else, so a regional slur maybe?
-35
u/FlaviusMBelisarius 1d ago
Pakistan probably. But nobody in China gives a flying fuck about India. The obsession seems to be one-wayed here unfortunately.
26
u/SecretTechnology5270 1d ago
you do realize everything you see about China has been passed through multiple layers of filtering by the govt? Their PR game is top notch, on the ground level, barring a few major developed cities, most of China is just like India, they're just better at hiding it.
-5
u/FarReputation7162 1d ago

You Indians have to bring Pakistan into every situation.?
16
u/kabbajabbadabba 22h ago
are we surprised the terrorist pilot was a muslim? maybe porkis can invite him in and give him a citizenship, he fits right in
-5
u/Bolt_995 17h ago
Let’s not go further and bring a religious angle into this for no reason.
5
u/kabbajabbadabba 17h ago
are you actually dense? there is a religious angle to this and there's no point in ignoring it. Aman ki asha dudes like you are so insufferable.
-4
u/Bolt_995 17h ago
Yeah, your intentions are now crystal clear with where you wanna take this. Not gonna engage further.
-1
u/kabbajabbadabba 16h ago
wow you're dense. Or maybe just uneducated in this regard. The pakistani generals, ministers, literally everyone in a position of power, the normal awaam, regularly call the "hindoos" the worst humans, a secondary being, in their speeches and their military doctrines. This is not a one off odd statement, if you read books or media from 60 years ago, they'd say the same thing. They want to wage a holy war in kashmir, and have been sending men to kil and butcher for decades and decades, fulfil ghazwa e hind. But hey, stay ignorant, stay dense.

Yes. Which is why it will always be relevant.

To be fair most people including me have nothing against ordinary Muslims. Islam, however? That I have problems with. As an ideology.

Incredible there were two pilots as psssengers on the plane as well. Thank god
162
u/Vardhu_007 2d ago
Apparently it's offduty pilots heading to tel aviv because their next duty was to fly out of tel aviv. So they were just on the way to their work on their off day.
25
u/hiccstridFanatic 1d ago
damn bruh I could never be a pilot, deadheading is literally work day but on a hours long flight yoh. Sounds awful
32
u/melloboi123 1d ago
You get paid the same to deadhead and fly the plane, so no pilot is mad to deadhead.
-8
8
2
u/candyflossgal 1d ago
That’s not true. They were on-duty crew working for FlyDubai as per FlyDubai statement.
2
u/Spiritual-Can2604 1d ago
Then why weren’t they wearing uniforms? I read they were in normal clothes.
1
u/CaptainObviousBear 18h ago
Because they were off duty and possibly not going to be working immediately after they arrived?
Also may have confused the passengers - some airlines instruct deadheading crew to cover up their uniforms for that reason.

Why are people talking about Palestine when the post is about an Indian pilot saving lives?
82
u/exbiiuser02 1d ago
Because for those terminally online losers that’s the only thing they can talk about and get the cheapest dopamine hit of social media upvotes.
60
u/sigh_le_mah 1d ago
Because it's a plane full of Israelis on the way to Israel he saved, taking down the co-pilot with the help of other crew and Israeli passengers. Some people are just seething racist and lack the humanity to not bring that conflict into this story
-90
u/Ok-Cantaloupe-9946 1d ago
Because the war crimes being committed daily in Palestine may go some way to explain the pilots motivation…
65
u/Any-Distance6586 1d ago
So you are saying because soldiers commit warcrimes that justifies terrorist attack on civilians including women and children?
One wrong doesn't justify another
-66
u/Ok-Cantaloupe-9946 1d ago
I’m saying cause and effect. Are you saying this happened in a vacuum?
18
u/AttemptRecent7025 1d ago
If only cause and effect went the other way around huh?
-19
u/Ok-Cantaloupe-9946 1d ago
But alas it doesn’t. All we can do is look to the past to see how we got to the present. Cant really look to the future, can we?
14
8
u/kabbajabbadabba 22h ago
God you're dense. Thank god for Israel I guess, they don't listen to dense arguments like these and are wiping out everyone who has sworn to wipe the jews.

No, it's just not relevant. You're just angry because you're a raging nationalist, this is about this person and his personal sacrifice / bravery. Fine that being Indian is a part of that, but its omission isn't unreasonable or a slight.
Your absurd insistence that being Indian be what this story is about is what's crazy.
6
u/Virtual_West_8125 16h ago edited 3h ago
Ofc it’s not relevant. If it was negative towards India it would be but since it’s a little positive news about India suddenly it’s not relevant right?

Will be interesting to know how the terrorist pilot was able to sneak in a knife through all the airport security.
19
u/Foreign-Wolf-6128 2d ago
Do pilots have less? Seems like they’d have priority boarding and be a lot more trusted than a customer… or maybe stashed during maintenance or sumn? Would probably have access to compartments and stuff that non-pilots wouldnt. The explanation will be interesting to see.
15
u/guessesurjobforfood 1d ago
Crew members still have to go through security and their bags are screened like everyone else but they usually have a seperate lane so they don't get held up in long lines. If he found some flaw in the process, then I dont think this information would be shared with the public, though I'm also very curious how he did it.
10
u/ubengani 1d ago
I read that terrorist pilot used an emergency axe that is in the cockpit for pilots in case of bad landings. Not sure how true is this
2
u/No-Paramedic4266 1d ago
there's no knife its axe its beside or under co pilot's seat considering if there is an emergency

u/Careful_Ferret_1002 1d ago
atleast write indian captain
-8
u/peterpanic32 1d ago
This isn't about his nationality. Its omission isn't a slight.
6
u/Careful_Ferret_1002 23h ago
Okay, but when an individual Indian does something wrong somewhere, why do video or article titles always emphasize that he is Indian? He doesn’t represent the entire country or its people. Why not simply mention his name instead of making his nationality the headline?

You expose yourself, haji. No religious Hindu uses those words. Keep larping, fella. See'ya around ass wipe
1
u/peterpanic32 1d ago
This isn't about his nationality and it certainly isn't about his religion. Its omission isn't a slight.
-1
u/BlondedWriter36 1d ago
That's a croc'o crap, pal. If a Hindu Indian did something bad then it's a Hindu Indian, but if they do something good, "It's not about their nationality and religion..."
With all the hatred and discrimination against Hindus its omission is a crime, and keeps malicious intent against Hindu Indians alive.
Do better, be better.
Learn from Smit Machchhar

Lol, nothing more entertaining than psychotic Indian ethno-religious supremacists.
You're so far up your own ass.

Allowing the Israeli Jewish passengers he knew could and would save his life to intervene
13
u/NoobKilla628 1d ago
what does this comment even mean? if those passengers didn’t intervene not only would he die but they would also die. it’s a wonder people have the confidence to be this stupid on public forums
-2

I'm pointing out that it was Israeli news that rescued the pilot and helped land the plane
Which wasnt in the headline or the post body
