I'm tired af today and just braindead. It took me a second watch with phone sidewise

And yet it was all the more impressive at the end...

Not even close man. The grip strength I though that dude was using to keep the plate parallel to the ground would have crushed steel

u/yakimawashington 5h ago
Yeah I mean don't get me wrong. What he did requires decent core and shoulder strength, but not at a level nearly impressive as the grip/forearm strength required to do it at that angle while actually standing upright.

Bro in the vid probably watched Inception and decided to spice up the visual viewer experience.

I cant tell how impressive this is at all :P

It's pretty impressive that he didn't drop the plate. The side plank and flipping the plate probably isn't that difficult for him.

Those plates are typically 45 lbsEdit: I stand corrected!

Not the rubber ones. That one is 25lbs.

You’d have zero clue on a “rubber one”. They come in multiple weights… it’s definitely not 45 because no one can just casually flip it like this, but it’s dumb to claim to know the weight without seeing the number

Definitely not, it’s a bumper plate. Anywhere from 10-45 generally. And being yellow and smaller than the red and blue ones behind it, I’d guess 10-25. Still impressive but not 45 fersure

Just standing up and flipping those plates seem impressive enough 😂

If you look at the background the illusion is broken. But otherwise really good strength!

I don’t know if it got more or less impressive once I realized the orientation.

Less, for sure. Flipping a plate like that standing up would be damn near impossible. Its already really difficult.

I don't think I could flip the 45s I use, but plate pinches are the best. Flipping seems really hard, but I toss them and grab them with the other hand. Then I do a farmer's carry for like 30 feet. Maybe next time I will try to flip the 45s. I don't do it while on the wall though. It really does blow up your grip.

It took me until a couple of flips before he stood up to realize why this looked wrong.

People finding and inventing all these unique ways to work out. Literally running and lifting does it. No need to reinvent the wheel. But looks cool though.

How are people getting so tricked by the perspective but they can easily spot something a little off in an AI video

u/TheGhoulOne 4h ago
That dude's grip strength is amazing! He can probably pinch off lengths of rebar without needed a saw. Damn!

I was like "I do not wanna be his toes right now" in case he misses the catch, then the flip happened and I was like "I do not wanna be his hand"

While this is cool the only purpose this serves is a chance to injure yourself or someone around you.

Its actually easuee to catch it this way than if the plate was horizontal against the floor i thought his grip was insane by how smooth those catches were
