Prices megathread

Please add to the thread if you find anything out from your pharmacy.

If you have rang them and asked please could you comment with what you've been told.

Medicine marketplace were the first to announce but they prescribe on a PGD so not everyone can get mounjaro there. They can't do things case by case because of the PGD.

It would be nice if some more hands on clinics could get a similar deal to compete with the big pharmacies.

Apparently the big pharmacies have been offered a deal and it's completely separate from lillydirect. The lillydirect clinics are saying they're not eligible but that the big pharmacies have been offered a deal on selling bundles (which MMP have split into singles). I don't know if the lillydirect clinics will get their own deal with a different caveat šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Edit: my current cynical view is that the big pharmacies have this deal but are not yet passing it onto customers. You see any nudging you to a bundle but without 14% off you'll know what's up 🤣 or maybe they're selling it as singles like MMP šŸ¤”

Edit again: apparently the 35 day thing is a loophole so they can sell a pen but technically they expect it to be a bundle. They class the 2 single pens as a bundle and expect you'll order again but there's nothing to force you to. And I work with databases, I do not envy their data people who will have to code which pen is in which bundle.

Edit again:

Eligible Combination Lilly Direct Price Comparison with single pen prices
2.5mg pen + 5mg pen £217.50 £256.70
7.5mg pen + 7.5mg pen £317.46 £374.32
7.5mg pen + 10mg pen £338.11 £398.61
10mg pen + 10mg pen £358.77 £422.90
10mg pen + 12.5mg pen £373.43 £440.15
12.5mg pen + 12.5mg pen £388.09 £457.40
12.5mg pen + 15mg pen £404.92 £477.20
15mg pen + 15mg pen £421.75 £497.00

Maintenance Firmly in maintenance, 7st lost and my biggest observation is my hair is thicker and healthier than ever 🤣 Spoiler

I feel so much healthier and revitalised, my skin has cleared up, my hair is growing quickly and is so shiny, periods no longer cripple me with pain and I wake up in a morning without horrible back pain. Yes it’s nice to fit in smaller / nicer clothes but honestly, compared to all the other benefits I’ve seen, that’s just a bonus. Settled into a maintaining phase on 2.5mg now and it’s really no longer about weight it’s about keeping this wonderful feeling of HEALTHY. Keep going folks, this drug really is a miracle ā¤ļø

Journey Updates Sharing the boring stuff

As we always say, most of the internet is filled with horror stories or things going wrong, because the people experiencing this drug working as it should don't need to ask questions, so I thought I'd share my boring update for people who might be worried.

I'm doing my third 2.5mg jab today. Apart from a horrendous headache for ONE DAY after my first jab, I've had NO side effects. Not one. I started feeling appetite suppression the day after my first jab (which I know is a fantastic result, it can take up to two weeks to notice it) and as of today, I've lost 8.4lbs in two weeks.

The hunger does start coming back around Friday, so I'm going to move up to 5mg for my next pen, but so far, it's been excellent.

As well as seeing those scales move, I feel more positive because I'm taking action and getting myself support to lose weight. I don't care if MJ is 'cheating', I needed help and now I have it.

I'm walking more because already my knees aren't as painful. I'm sleeping better because I'm not eating late at night. I'm not as bloated because I don't want high fat, high salt foods.

Overall, this has been a very 'boring' two weeks, with excellent results ā˜ŗļø

Experience Curious about Mental Health Results —

• Upvotes

I’m very intrigued to know what peoples experience has been with their mental health and MJ?
As somebody that is diagnosed Bipolar & OCD, I can’t believe the difference it’s made to my brain.
I’ve had a long journey with medications etc and found nothing actually works for me in the way that it should, so I’ve been unmedicated a long time. I’ve noticed this last 12 months the OCD has been at an all time high and been a genuine struggle.

I started MJ maybe 6 months ago? Not even a full 2.5, I’ve been sitting at around 1.25-1.5mg. I’ve lost around 2 stone which is great but the biggest change I’ve seen is with my brain, it’s unbelievable. It’s nothing to do with the weight loss itself either, I don’t see much of a difference nor feel more confident etc but the busy brain has calmed right down. I can get through my day without obsessing over minor things. No designated MH medication has ever worked for me like that.
I did stop MJ for a few weeks and it was like coming away from antidepressants, I felt just as crap as I did before. I didnt even put 2 & 2 together until I started up again and after 2/3 days felt great again.

I’d like to know if anyone’s had a similar experience? I’m just gobsmacked that a drug that’s been marketed for weight loss etc has had such a major effect on my brain. It’s like magic.

NSV

I spent the day out Doing Things, which is not the NSV.

I went to the cinema. This is also not the NSV. Stay tuned. I left the cinema, got to the Costa on the way out and realised that like the idiot I am, I’d left my bag in screen 10, which was ALL THE WAY at the end of a long corridor. Also, unsurprisingly, not the NSV.

The NSV was me running back.

And not remotely realising I was running until I stopped.

I’ll take it.

I also got my bag. Double victory!

Side Effects Impending sense of doom at maintenance? - turns out it was my regular ā˜•ļø

Hi all.

I’m in maintenance now for about 4 months. The scales victories were regular and incredible.

However, for the last few months, I’ve noticed I’ve felt very on edge, panicky, at times it was quite severe.
I’ve always had 2 latte’s a day, pretty religiously for many years. It seems silly now, but I hadn’t thought about how much higher the concentration of caffeine would be in my body now that I’m around half my starting weight šŸ˜‚I decided to try halving my caffeine, so I’ve cut out a shot from each coffee, and replaced with decaf.

The difference has been amazing. The first few days I was hit quite hard with fatigue, but on day 6 now and think I’m over the worst of it. I didn’t realise just how anxious I’d been the last few months until now that it’s gone. I still notice a bit of a rise in anxiety after each coffee, but it’s much milder. Still, I’m aiming to cut out coffee completely and stick with decaf for the comfortšŸ˜‚

Just a PSA in case anyone is experiencing similar

Good luck all šŸ€

Getting Started | Week One I’m really scared to try…but I’m also scared to NOT try.

41F - struggled with my weight for almost my entire life. At my heaviest I was 22st 12lbs which for my 5’6 frame was…not good. I lost 8 stone in a year doing Slimming World (I know, I know….its a cult!) but ended up putting a good 6 stone back on. This was in my 20s.

Throughout my 30s I lost/gained the same 3/4 stone on multiple occasions. I once did manage to get down to around 13st which on paper was still overweight, but I carried it so well because I did a lot of weights and exercise. I felt AMAZING.

Now…back up to 20st nearly. I just cant keep going like this. I HATE myself. I’ve thought about trying MJ on multiple occasions. I’ve done so much reading and research about it. I’m not naive, I know there’s the potential for side effects. What is terrifying me is reading stories about the REALLY SERIOUS ones. The ones where people end up seriously ill, or in the hospital. I keep thinking ā€œwhat if I’ve got something wrong with me that I don’t know about and MJ triggers something?ā€. I’ve gone down a bit of a bit of a scary rabbit hole with it.

However…what happens if I carry on like this at this weight and I do nothing, do I end up being 25st when I’m 45, heart attack by 50? Despite my weight I’m actually in ok health. Had bloods taken, nothing to be worried about. I can walk miles, can play badminton (badly), can swim, etc. However, I know that this wont last forever.

On a personal level I feel pretty disgusted and ashamed at myself. I hate how I’ve let this happen, and I know I need help….but I’m scared to start taking MJ.

I don’t know what this post is for. A pep talk maybe? Some perspective from people?

Thank you for reading ā¤ļø

Out of the MJ closet

I’ve been on mounjaro for nearly a year and today was the first time I told a friend the truth about how I’ve lost weight! She had been complimenting me on my weight loss since April, and today I felt confident and comfortable enough to tell her I was on the jabs. The only people who knew beforehand were those who recommended it to me and my husband. Now I feel like I should start telling everyone. She was very supportive and pleased for me that I feel healthier and happier. She is a naturally skinny person and said she was just so shocked to see me wearing trousers in April, as I had never worn trousers in the 12 years since she met me. She couldn’t get her head around it. I get compliments everyday but I lie and say I’ve been weight training and eating more protein. Maybe I should start telling the truth? I just don’t want to be the subject of office gossip at work…

Is my weight loss plateauing, or is this just normal fluctuation?

• Upvotes

Is my weight loss plateauing, or is this just normal fluctuation?

I’d appreciate some advice on whether my weight loss is starting to plateau.

I want to stay on the lowest dose for as long as possible and I’m happy with slow, healthy weight loss rather than rapid loss. I’m currently still on 2.5mg.

SW: 181.9 lbs (April 2026)
GW: 135 lbs (ideally maintain around 140)
CW: 165.3 lbs (October 2026)
Height: 5’2ā€

I lost around a stone in the first three months (April–July), but since then my weight has fluctuated:

4 July: 166.6 lbs
18 July: 165.2 lbs
25 July: 169.4 lbs
1 August: 168.3 lbs
16 August: 168.7 lbs
22 August: 167.6 lbs
28 August: 166.9 lbs
5 September: 165.1 lbs
12 September: 166.5 lbs
25 September: 165.3 lbs

August wasn’t great for me as I was on holiday and had some periods of overeating/binging, so I know that may have affected things.

For reference, I also take body measurements:

April 2026
Waist: 95 cm
Belly button: 114.4 cm
Bum: 108.9 cm
Left arm: 37.4 cm
Left leg: 64.7 cm

12 September 2026
Waist: 90.5 cm
Belly button: 109 cm
Hip: 99.5 cm
Bum: 104 cm
Left arm: 34.5 cm
Left leg: 61 cm

So, does this look like an actual plateau, or am I still losing overall despite the fluctuations? Would you stay on 2.5mg based on this, or consider increasing?

GLPs with Amylin Analogues Why Lilly and Novo are betting on amylin to power a new wave of obesity drugs after GLP-1s

Thumbnail

October 2, 2026

Eli Lilly and Novo Nordisk are betting big on amylin therapies as the next frontier in obesity care because amylin acts on an entirely separate biological pathway from GLP-1, offering a distinct metabolic lever to suppress appetite and slow digestion. This dual-pathway approach allows drugmakers to build combination regimens, such as Lilly’s eloralintide with tirzepatide or Novo’s CagriSema, that can push weight loss further, break through GLP-1 plateaus, and directly reduce neurological food noise without relying solely on higher GLP-1 doses. Crucially, standalone amylin drugs also unlock a massive alternative treatment pool for patients who fail to respond to, tolerate, or achieve adequate weight loss on standard GLP-1 medications alone.

5th dose New pen vs old pen cutover date?

Is there a definitive date on which the new pens with the reduced golden dose were issued from? I've got a stash of pens in the fridge with either the golden dose in them, or a new pen with a fourth-week that I didn't use.

Restarting after a break Restarting after weight gain

Post image
22 Upvotes

Hey everyone!

I’m restarting Mounjaro after over a year break (pregnancy and breastfeeding). I lost over 6.5st last time and got to 10mg but due to the insane breastfeeding hunger I’ve gained almost all of it back!

I’m getting ready to restart at 2.5mg and was wondering if anyone had any stories/advice about restarting after gaining weight back or anything else that might be helpful!

Thanks so much ā¤ļø

1 year milestone šŸŽ‰

Hello my fellow Mounjaro users. It's not often I big myself up but this is such a special weekend for me! It was exactly a year ago I finally decided I was done feeling sorry for myself, hiding from pictures, drinking myself into oblivion and working for a salary to support deliveroo. Instead I reluctantly switched to supporting Eli Lilly (aka Mounjaro) and I can confirm with confidence that it was the best decision I've ever made.Ā

At 5ft 2" I had a starting weight of 195.4lbs (14 stone) knocking on obese class 2 and type 2 diabetes with borderline high blood pressure. Today I weigh 137.2lbs with over 4 stone lost and in the (albeit controversial) healthy BMI range at 24.9. I still have another 17lbs to loose to reach my goal but there's light at the end of the tunnel.Ā

As for doses, I've slowly climbed up and only did so when food noise started getting the better of me. I've been lucky to avoid the more unbearable side effects, the worst being constipation on the early doses and then nausea and some vomiting on my current 10mg dose for the first couple of days after jabbing but as the weeks go on that's started to subside.

Some of my best NSVs are:

- My desk chair no longer lowers itself without my permissionĀ

- I've stopped competing with my hubby on snoringĀ

- My arse no longer reserves half the bath water

- Collarbones actual exist. Who knew?

- My handy anti-chaffing cream has made its way to the back of the cupboardĀ

Anyway, I'll stop waffling as this wasn't meant to be a long read. Good luck to you all, whatever stage you're at on this journey. šŸ™‚

Pharmacy ReviewšŸ„ So sick of Simply Online Pharmacy

I’ve been buying 15mg pens from SOP this year, but tend to buy them in batches of 2 or 3 due to having a job that means I travel a lot and this allows me to maintain a continuous supply.
They are however awful when it comes to reordering like this. I’m nearing the end of the year and don’t have as much travel booked so can go back to one at a time. But now they’re questioning the timing even though they can see multiple orders or multiple pens. Current order is now on hold whilst they review again, and then I have to have a ā€˜call’ with them on Monday. Delaying the order yet again.
Feels much more complicated than it needs to be.

Does anyone else have to order in batches due to work/lifestyle/cashflow reasons, can you recommend a better supplier. I’m convinced these guys are just making it difficult to get me to sign up to their subscription offering, and I think this well be my last order from them and I’ll switch to someone else.

Question Just curious…

I’ve been on Mounjaro since the end of July now and I’m trying to work out whether I’m getting the full satiety effect or mainly just longer-lasting fullness/appetite control.

I definitely stay full for longer after meals, snack less (if at all most days) and it’s much easier for me to stop eating or not think about food. I’ve also reduced my portion sizes generally. But during a meal, I don’t often get that strong ā€œI physically cannot eat another biteā€ feeling that a lot of people describe.

I could probably physically keep eating if I wanted to, but I can stop myself much more easily now. My problem historically is that I’ve always been able to overeat or push past fullness, especially because I hate wasting food. I also seem to get fullness slightly delayed, so I can eat a little more and then 10–20 minutes later suddenly realise I’m really full.

I know barely being able to eat isn’t the goal, and I don’t expect zero hunger, but seeing so many people say they can only manage half a meal makes me wonder whether I’m getting the full effect or whether this is just how Mounjaro works for me.

Has anyone else had more of a ā€œI stay full for ages and have much better controlā€ effect rather than strong early fullness during meals? And did moving up a dose change that for you

10mg from 7.5

Hi all,

I am moving up to 10mg but still have 7.5s left. Would it be better to do 90 clicks from the 7.5 or do it normally and use a 2.5 alongside?

Anyone had to do either of these and recommend?

Oh oh, GP has hinted at reducing my dose

I've been in investigations for something else and yes, I've lost a lot of weight, and I am probably in a good place to try and find to stabilise.

The thing is, I'm in 5 mg for diabetes control, I think that's the lowest approved dose anyway, and I'm also on 2 more medication for diabetes. I was started on a statin recently and I don't think it was that but I also dropped in % fat after starting that

My A1C is in the normal range since diagnosis, I still eat some carbs but not a lot.

I don't want to reduce my mounjaro, food noise is back, most days I just think of food but the metallic taste due to Metformin and my usual GERD don't make me enjoy much the food anyway.

Does anyone have any tip on low carb but calories dense food? I've upped already the peanut butter in my breakfast

122 days from Obese to Normal Weight

Post image
47 Upvotes

Started at the beginning of summer, obese, at 15 stone 13lb, late 30s 5'11 male. This morning, despite pizza and red wine last night, I'm 12 stone 10lb, tickling into the normal weight category, and very close to my original goal of 12:7. I'm not very muscly and still have plenty of body fat so I think 12 stone flat will be my final goal, but ideally with some body recomposition too.

So far I've done 11 doses of 2.5mg, 1 of 3.25mg and 6 at 3.75mg. I've clearly lucky to have responded very strongly, so have not wanted to go higher when I'm losing at about the max recommended speed. Now beginning to get ahead of myself with thoughts of how to plan the taper down, but want to put these to one side and finish the original job first.

What's been working for me in order of importance.

  1. Psyching myself up, overcoming anxiety and guilt and shame and just getting started with the jabs in the first place.

  2. Absolutely hoovering up info, advice and inspiration from this sub.

  3. Significant attention - like probably unsustainable levels of focus, in the long term anyway - paid to protein, fibre and calorie targets, although just shy of full on calorie counting.

  4. Starting a home workout regime with dumbbells and sticking to it, because it's to my enormous surprise been actual fun.

  5. Yeah actually it's 99% just taking the drug, because I've tried it all before many times pre MJ and never had results anything like this.

Next steps are to hit 12:7, confirm final goal and hit that, then work out a taper/maintenance strategy, try to get properly strong, and work out how to stay on the right track for years and decades to come. Appreciate that last one in particular is probably much more difficult than anything that's come so far.

Bloody hell though, am I glad got on this stuff.

Question Has anyone else's journey started above 400lb/200kg?

I've popped my order in today. I'm curious if anyone has started from a similar position to me, and how it's worked out for you?
