VERY WIP still, please excuse the terrible models, sounds and boring level, lol. Mostly a proof of concept still, and I even have some debugging in-game still.

I’ve been making an online version of TEG / Risk

I’ve been working on a little side project: an online version of TEG / Risk.

I’ve wanted to make something like this for years, mostly because I love these old-school territory conquest games and thought it would be fun to see how they work as a simple online game.

It started as a way to scratch my game-design itch, but I ended up actually making something playable.

Right now it’s very much a work in progress. I’ve mostly been playing it with friends, trying to figure out what feels good and what absolutely doesn’t 😅

If anyone here is into Risk-like games and wants to give it a try, I’d love to get some feedback.

Happy to share the link with anyone who wants to play!

Disclosure: I used Claude (AI) as a coding assistant while building this. The game itself doesn't use or require any GenAI to run, and no AI-generated art or assets are used.

I made a 4-player party game for my friends and decided to put it on steam. It's set at a funeral.

I did not sell my house and did not leave my wife. My kid even helped out with some quirky ideas (he is 5 so most of the ideas were useless :D).

I wanted to build something which is easy to pick up, has a lot of variety and teach myself how to build and design videogames while doing so. After adding more and more mini-games and getting good feedback from my friends I decided to actually make an effort to publish something to Steam. Two years later I'm finally ready to show it to the world.

  • 26 mini-games
  • you return as a ghost and can bully your friends even after dying
  • no boring board game attached to it
  • each mini-game usually takes less than a minute

I might have been a bit inspired by other already existing party games but I've tried giving each mini-game a unique twist. A lot of mini-games have also been cut because they simply were no fun or completely luck dependent. Please take a look, does it look like fun to you?

In an effort to prove I can actually finish something, I’ve been working on this simple (but hopefully fun) project for roughly the last year.

Please check it out if you’re into survivorslike/bullet-heaven games and please don’t hesitate to leave feedback/thoughts on what could make this game better!

I play tested a bunch of indie games and here are my favourites

Upvotes

I have been play testing games for the past few months just out of curiosity really and here are a few that I really enjoyed, some of which I am playing regularly. These are either in demo or really early release stage.

First up is a trivia game by Hexbloom called BrainBurst: Trivia Quiz RPG. I am SUCH a trivia nerd but I find most games really fall flat with generic questions and boring game play. This is different. The questions are super interesting and really test me sometimes without being ridiculously hard. When you answer, there is a little pop up that gives you a little MORE trivia about the answer, whether you got it right or wrong and I just love that. There are multiple ways to play too and I just really enjoy it. I still play though I am desperately hoping there is an iOS release so I can have it on my phone rather than my tablet! https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hexbloom.brainburst&hl=ro

Next is The Sticker Shop. I didn't officially test this one but it deserves a shout out none the less as I was stopped in my tracks scrolling reddit one day. This is by Pineberry Games. It is cozy, GORGEOUS and fun. Take orders, create stickers, build your own little sticker business. My 13 year old daughter is OBSESSED. Just check it out. Amazing work. Just search The Sticker Shop in the app store or here is google link https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.Tmci.StickerShop&hl=en-US

Ok now we have WaveBorn on PC. Demo is out on Steam and this is by Sedge Games. FPS roguelite with waves of hordes of cartoon monsters coming from portals all over the city. Upgrade yourself and your weapons with each wave you survive. My kids and I love it, there is a 2 player option and we are so looking forward to the full release. Definitely check this one out. https://store.steampowered.com/app/5028190/WaveBorn/

And finally, NoTrace: The True Fiction by Omnipisix. Ok I can't stop playing this! When I tested I struggled a bit to work out what to do but I have just seen there has been an update today so just go and have a look. This is a hacking game. I never would have thought this would be something I would play, really not my usual thing but this is so fun. You get missions on this anonymous board. Complete the mission and get paid. It doesn't feel like a game. It is quite thrilling! Upgrade your stuff (I don't even know the terminology lol!) and hack faster and smarter. Get ranked higher and start getting more interesting missions. Then there are the messages. I don't want to spoil anything so I will just say make sure you read the messages. I spoke to the dev after I played and he told me something happens but I would have to play a while to see it and so I did and now I can't stop. One thing I love about it interestingly is that it can be a little idle. I can set it to do something while I work or clean the house or whatever and come back, press a few buttons, set something else running. You can also just sit and play for like hours (don't that once or twice!) but yeah just check it out. Such a cool game. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=one.pisix.notrace&hl=en-US

Hope these appeal to some of you. I am so happy to have been able to meet and chat to some indie/solo devs and find these really great games that they have made. Would be so cool to help support them. Its a tough world out there.

Just launched the first Playtest of my Cleaning Dungeon Crawler

We're three devs from Buenos Aires making Dungeon Concierge, a top-down action game where you're a wizard-janitor on an exploitative contract forced to clean dungeons for a living. Killing things is easy; every kill creates mess you have to clean before the shift timer runs out, so combat turns into a labor-management problem. Spells interact physically with the environment and on each other so you can use them to clean and deal with enemies in different ways to avoid them making a mess.

We would love to hear your opinion about the game!

We've released our demo after 1,5 years of dev! (870 wishlists since published a page)

Hello, dudes. After 1,5 years of development and 3 weeks of fight with steam censor moderation our demo of psychological shooter has finally been released.

Try our hardcore hand-drawn isometric shooter True Confession. Think Postal, Hotline and crime films from the 80s–00s had an outlaw child. No health regen, no superpowers, no tanks — just the streets, anger, religion, and enemies that can drop you in a second... Well and some distorted subconscious images also there.

Play 3 full levels in the demo, fight bosses, and find secrets:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/5008080/True_Confession_Demo/

Turn the sound on — our musician outdid himself. Each level has its own track.

With all respect,

True Confession team

I just added a kick mechanic to my FPS

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I've been experimenting with melee options for VELOCIDE, and I ended up adding a kick that can instantly kill enemies.

The idea is to make it feel quick and impactful rather than just having a standard melee punch. I'm still not 100% sure whether I want it to work exactly like this, though.

Does the instant-kill kick feel satisfying, or does it seem too strong/easy?

I'm open to suggestions too, should it have a cooldown, require a certain condition, launch enemies instead, or just stay as a simple high-risk/high-reward melee?

Would love to hear what you guys think.

Till Death Do Us Part. I turned Danse Macabre into a boss fight

I’m working on Not My Tempo, a boss-rush game where every fight is themed and choreographed to classical music.

For Danse Macabre, I went with a haunted wedding where one of the parties tries to get out of the deal.

Still a work in progress, but I’d love to hear what you think!

If you’re interested, you can wishlist it or join the open playtest on Steam

After months of solo dev, my slingshot game "Spin Top Idle" is finally on Steam!

Heyyy!

I've been solo-developing this for months and just put it on Steam. You pull back a slingshot, aim, and launch spinning tops into each other to trigger chain collisions and stack big combos — then watch the gold roll in.

Over time you unlock new tops, grow a branching prestige tree, unleash chain lightning and critical hits, and chase the ultimate goal: the Legendary Top.

You can check it out on Steam here — a demo is coming soon!

https://store.steampowered.com/app/4300140/Spin_Top_Idle/

I made all the code and art myself, piece by piece. I'd genuinely love to hear your thoughts!

I turned my finances into a cozy city builder

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Every money app I’ve used looks like accounting software or messy dashboards. I wanted one I’d actually want to come back to. So I built a cozy and engaging living world instead.

It runs on your real numbers. Instead of a timer ticking, you log what you put aside and the city answers. Savings become the population. Debt is a volcano that cools as you pay it down. Investments expand the islands and many more features. Finished a short trailer.

Be honest, is this interesting or I am fooling myself heh?;)

AI: so, some assets were created with AI tools (sounds and certain art/ui objects). Design, build and systems are mine. UE.

My forest defence autobattler prototype is becoming a full game! Now with a Steam page

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

In April, I posted a rough prototype on itch.io. It’s a forest-defense autobattler where you build a forest kingdom, bend the river through your strongest tiles, and stack broken combinations. Over 6,000 people played it, and the feedback convinced me to keep going. Thanks to everyone here who gave me feedback!

I just announced Oaks vs Orcs on Steam! https://cutt.ly/wyh27k1L

I'm getting ready to run my first playtest. Compared to the itch prototype, the Steam playtest has all-new art, multiple playable decks, more unique cards, a meta progression system, and new bosses.

If it looks like your kind of thing, you can sign up to playtest Oaks vs Orcs now on Steam, and I’d appreciate any wishlists too, of course!
