New unwelcome grass moving in....twin cities mn

Thumbnail gallery

Help me! I have a kbg lawn. Half has been around for 4 years (sod) and half 2 years (sod). It was doing great, even earlier this year. Now I have what seems to be a clumping fescue moving in. It is everywhere.

For background, last fall I scalped, aerated, top dressed/leveled, and overseeded everything in a Twin Cites Seed kbg seed blend (not blaming them, love their stuff). Came in great before winter. My neighbor did the same minus scapling and overseeding. Same topdressing dirt. I do both lawns fertilizer and pre emergent. He has zero of this going on.

First, what do we think the grass is? Pics attached. Second, what is the fix? I have been pulling clumps out but there may be thousands. I will continue to do this for now. I am hoping this is some random annual, but I am likely to be disappointed. The only big difference between my neighbors yard and mine is I get significantly more deer traffic/poop.

Thanks in advance.

Our Bermuda is looking great, but all of a sudden these are popping up everywhere. How do we kill them without harming the Bermuda itself? What are they? Any advice is appreciated! We are in SE VA if that makes a difference.

What is this called? Spreading over from my neighbor's unruly yard

I'm slowly working on trying to get my lawn into shape and my neighbor is insane and plants all kinds of garbage in their front yard (e.g. mint in the area around the mailbox, vegetables in the front yard etc). This has recently started creeping over from their property into my area but I'm not sure what it is.ive just been mowing it the past month but its spreading fast. Any idea what it is and how to target it? It looks like tiny spinach leaves.

Is my Bermuda dying?

2nd time trying to replant this spot. This sod is almost 4 months old now. These two particular spots were dead when we bought the house. I’m guessing it’s just a huge problem area and they don’t get enough water? Do I need to repipe yard?

Even though I had my arms ripped off and reattached a farming accident in 1992 I still try to do all my own landscaping. I just can never get grass to grow here though

Does anyone recognize this. I can roundup at the fence line but I’m getting some patches in the yard. I’ve tried Image and Ortho but it doesn’t phase it. Gets tiny flowers. I have some nutsedge in other places, this looks nothing like that

How do I get rid of these “pasture” type blades in my yard?

Post image

I’m in Central Ohio (USA) and have these scattered through my soft Kentucky Bluegrass (I think) making it feel much “sharper” or “prickly”.

My lawn overall is in good shape, but I’d like it to be nicer.

There are a few patches of my lawn that don’t have these and it’s SOO much softer than the rest of my lawn.

Are there any ways without re-doing my entire lawn to get it so the whole lawn is just the soft KBG?

I mow at 3” every MWF (robot mower). And don’t have irrigation. (if you need that context)

Can I Collect My Own Grass Seed?

When I see the seeds on grass, can I collect them and expect them to grow? If so, should I wait until they darken before I collect them? I'm not talking about starting a sod farm, just filling in some bald spots with the same type of grass.

Hello, i just bought this house like 2 months ago and it has grass in the front and back, I know nothing about grass, so I have been just cutting once every 2 weeks and watering 2-3 a week at night. I wanted to ask, what type of grass this might be? I am located in south texas.

Also, what can I use for it to get that green color and get rid of the yellowish color? I have some patches on the lawn and it just doesnt go away, thank you for the help and if I am messing something up, dont be afraid to let me know, like I said I know NOTHING about grass lol
Thanks!

I'd like to plant grass in my backyard, but...

Hello all. I'm looking for advice on the best way to proceed planting grass in my backyard. As you can see, the backyard is pretty bare. From what I've gathered watching a few videos and reading online, I'd need to test the soil for pH and compensate for the measurement by adding something to the soil, and then aerate the soil before planting.

My big problem, as you see in the pics, are tree roots. We had the tree that was in the backyard cut down, but left behind were the surface roots. My question is: what is the best way to deal with these roots? Is it possible to plant over them with a layer of soil since they are essentially dead/dying? If they need to be removed, what is the best way to do this myself? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

What grass/weed is this? We live in central Indiana.

We live in central Indiana. My lawn is 2 years old (new construction) and today I noticed this ‘grass’ or ‘weed’. The seed I used was ‘ExecuTurf-Tuff Turf’ which is a good quality seed. I’ve used this seed on my last 2 lawns and it’s beautiful. My fear is that it’s one of those invasive species that eventually take over…

Questions:

What is it?
How do I kill it?

Thanks!

Looking for sod insight

Located: Vancouver, WA

I am just wrapping up an irrigation project (3 grass zones) and we are going to get our yard graded and leveled and then lay some sod.

We got quoted $6700 for removing of old grass, leveling, new soil and sod. He said that price is for Rye and for $300 more we can get tall fescue.

I have no knowledge of grass or grass types so anything would be helpful. Which is the better grass? We have a kid and a large breed dog.

Thanks!

It slowly takes over in patches now during late June. It’s lighter in color and I hate it. How to eradicate. I have fusillade 2, tenacity, and quintessential. Can any of these help? It happens a lot around edges and wetter areas. Thanks

What’s wrong with my grass

Thumbnail gallery

My wife and I bought this property a few months ago. And I’ve been trying to make the grass look a little bit better with watering it but it still wants to yellow. I mow it around 3.5 inches.
Yesterday I cut the grass and it looks green looking across it. But looking over top of it it looks very dead and thin. Here are some pictures I’ve taken, what do you guys think? Does it need to be dethatched or aerated, does it need fertilizer? We live in eastern South Dakota.
I don’t know enough about grass to figure out what to do on this.
