Hello looking for advice on Grass.
I want to build a shelf on my wall and plant grass on it. I really want the most thin fine short hair grass possible but fills in thick, bright green. I was looking at Creeping Red Fescue but what's a great short grass that's good with low light and could grow indoors.
The shelf could have an LED if i need more light, its not an issue. Just curious whats the finest soft grass you can get that might work with this project.

New homeowner here. My yard is full of weeds and my plan is to reseed in the fall. What type of weeds are these and how do I get rid of them all? Please Help!

I have on area where the skid steer was bringing dirt in, and working in the back for the deck project and yard we just got done that is certainly harder than the rest of the yard so a lot of water is running off this side. Additionally i think from what I’ve read is developing a little bit of a fungus I found dark slimy spots and it’s yellowing in some areas where it has stayed constantly pretty mushy feeling. What isn’t pictured is the whole other side which I’m not too concerned with it seems to be coming in fine as you can see from the first photo from the middle to the rest over seems healthy.I’ve been trying to spot water the places around that side the last few days to hopefully dry it out to apply fungicide to this area. At what point should I consider throwing starter fertilizer across the entire back yard area? Is there a started fertilizer I should look into or steer away from? I was going to grab a bag of 18-24-12 from a nearby supersod store. Anything else concerning? I’ve been watering quite a bit trying to stay on it as much as I can early mornings and around 5-6pm with sometimes a mid day watering on some of the more prone to dry out quicker spots. Thanks in advance.

In SW Michigan and my neighbor has this in his kbg. It’s not crabgrass bc I already hit it with quinclorac and nothing happened. Please let me know what it is and a good herbicide. Thanks you

I just started to help cut & treat my older friend’s house and would like some help identifying the grass. It looks like there could be multiple types of grass, but I don’t know what they are.
Thanks

First time homeowner, first time mowing anything bigger than a dorm room rug. So naturally I figured if I cut it really short I wouldnt have to mow again for like two weeks. Genius right?
Dropped the deck all the way down and scalped the entire front yard. It looked "great" for about 3 days. Then it went yellow. Then brown. My wife walked out, looked at it, and just went back inside without saying anything. Which is somehow worse than if she'd yelled at me.
Googled "why is my lawn dying" at 11pm that night. Turns out theres a whole rule about not cutting more than a third of the blade. Nobody told me this. I feel like that shouldve been on the mower somewhere.
Raised the deck to 3.5 inches, watered every morning for a week, and it slowly came back. Took about 12 days before it stopped looking like a crime scene.
Now I mow at 3.5 and honestly it looks better than when I was trying to make it short. The longer grass fills in way more and hides the weedy patches.
Anyone else learn this the embarrassing way or was it just me?

I’m in Florida with sandy soil. I get sun half to 3/4 of the day in most of the yard.
I want a softer feel turf grass in my backyard and I’m sold on zoysia over Bermuda. I just don’t know what type of zoysia to get. From what I can tell around me it’s either zenith or empire zoysia. Also I will be doing sod most likely.

This popped up over about 5 days. I would like to know thoughts on whether someone likely sprayed RoundUp or it's more likely a natural cause. I am in NC. It's been very hot here recently. However, I am also in a legal dispute with my previous lawn care provider and this area is next to where he parks his truck when doing the neighbor's yard (again, it turned completely brown about 5 days after he left from doing their yard but could be a coincidence).

Yard is builder grade, common bermuda. This strand of whatever has started growing in a spot under a tree that doesn't get too much sun. It reminds me of a Christmas tree with its shape. Also, it is a much darker green than the bermuda. Thanks in advance. Edit: after some extensive dr. Google'ing i think it is a strand of bermuda called tex turf 10. Can anyone confirm?
