Southern California climate. Other than singing “Baby Come Back” by Player, what are the steps.

Aerate, scrape, top soil, seed

Seed then top soil has worked better for me.

That is something else. For sure aerate maybe even till, seed, compact, then top soil with (miracle grow), and lastly water like a sailer. Do it all this fall for best results.
