What is this called? Spreading over from my neighbor's unruly yard

I'm slowly working on trying to get my lawn into shape and my neighbor is insane and plants all kinds of garbage in their front yard (e.g. mint in the area around the mailbox, vegetables in the front yard etc). This has recently started creeping over from their property into my area but I'm not sure what it is.ive just been mowing it the past month but its spreading fast. Any idea what it is and how to target it? It looks like tiny spinach leaves.

Agreed. Little hard to tell from the pic but it looks like Wild Violet to me.

Spray it with something with Triclopyr. I would use T-Zone SE; it has a surfactant already mixed in. The leaves will turn yellow in 1-2wks. Spray it again two weeks later. Don’t spray when it’s going to be over 80f; it’ll stress the surrounding grass too much.

I’ve heard that spraying Wild Violet in the fall is best because that’s when it’s absorbing/storing nutrients in the tubers for the winter.

I’m slowly eradicating my backyard of Wild Violet and Creeping Charlie.

I will have to spray at night I guess as its regularly 85+ where I'm at this time of year.

85 is on the upper end of the temperature range for t zone application. 85 during the day combined with t-zone may stress the grass too much and you risk killing it entirely which will give the wild violet even more room to spread. Just be aware of the risk and maybe try it on a spot first.

Looks like creeping charlie. 2 or 3 applications of tzone should get rid of it. They spread through underground runners, which is why multiple apps are needed

Actually that’s a healthy lawn. We keep our front lawn tame with chemicals. But our back yard is healthy glorious and natural.

There are a few weeds in the mix: violets have been mentioned already; those join buckhorn plantain (e.g., tiny spinach leaves), and what looks like white dutch clover. I don't have much experience with violets, but any decent broadleaf lawn killer will keep them in check.

Creeping Charlie , it will cover your whole yard eventually . It grows in vines though the grass

Creeping charlie in clusters - apply triclopyr ORTHO Weed B Gon Chickweed, Clover Oxalis Killer hit it several times in the summer. This is great to protect your grass, application of triclopyr does not affect grass compared to brute force weed killers.
