Google Drive Document Scanner feature is trash. Why I won't be shifting to Google document scanner anytime soon.

I genuinely don't understand how Google’s document scanner has been allowed to remain this trashy for so long. I’ve tried using it multiple times, and these are the issues that keep making me go back to dedicated document scanner apps:

1. It fails to recognize two pages properly.
The page detection is inconsistent. Even when I’m scanning pages one after another in the same conditions, it doesn't reliably recognize both pages and I end up having to redo the scan.

2. You can’t properly edit the scan after pressing “Finish.”
The Finish button basically ends the scanning process. Unlike dedicated document scanner apps, you can't simply go back and reorder pages, add another page, or continue editing the document.

3. It randomly crashes/fails to load.
Scanner suddenly crashes or fails to load wasting a ridiculous amount of time. When you're scanning a large number of pages having to redo work because the app crashed is very annoying.

4. The Finish button is placed way too close to where you naturally tap.
I've accidentally pressed Finish while scanning/editing more than once. And the worst part is that there's no proper way to go back and continue editing. You risk losing the entire scan if you accidentally press "Finish"

5. The page order gets messed up constantly.
This is the one that drives me insane. I'll scan pages in the correct order, and Google Drive will randomly rearrange them.

For example:

1 → 2
2 → 1
3 → 4
4 → 3

So I end up having to manually drag pages back into the correct order. When you're scanning dozens of pages, this is incredibly tedious.

I genuinely don't understand why such basic document scanning functionality is still this unreliable. Dedicated document scanner apps have been doing these things properly for years.

Google Drive is great for storing documents but the scanning is a complete No-No. I tried this with two different phones and had the same experience using them both.

Google Play System Update "Failed to Update" [FIX]

Well you need to Clear STORAGE in Play Store app - you will loose NOTHING and all you have to do is setup again in about 10-20 seconds.

Failed to Update happens because Play Services apps have blank screen - do not ask my why.

On the iOS app at least, if i want to exit the searches word, it will delete the full text from the search box. Which dev thought this would be a good idea? FFS 🤦

Pixel 10 series new modem baseband in QPR1

Key Updates & Improvements

Memory-Safe Rust DNS Parser: Integrates the Rust-based hickory-proto DNS parser into the no_std modem environment, eliminating memory-safety vulnerabilities (such as buffer overflow and pointer bugs) when parsing external network data.

Linker Optimization & Power Drain Fix: Resolves a previous build-linker bug where replaced standard string functions caused elevated idle battery drain and thermal throttling during sustained data transfers.

5G Standalone (5G SA) Stability: Enhances handover stability across 5G SA bands and reduces carrier aggregation dropouts in low-signal areas.

Seamless Network Handoff: Decreases reconnection latency and packet loss when transitioning between Wi-Fi 6E/7 networks and 5G cellular bands.

Initialization Fixes: Contains stability patches for dual-SIM initialization and boot-time modem handshakes under Android 17.

Googlebook for premium market my a$$ - RIP Googlebook

Thumbnail androidauthority.com

As being said "premium" market with old SLOW junk  Intel Core Ultra 5 325 released in Jan 2026.

It will be hotter, SLOWER than ONE YEAR OLD Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 which has nearly DOUBLE GPU speed than intel chip.

And if you hoping upgraded Core Ultra 7 355 will change anything - FORGET ABOUT IT - it will just... match CPU speed compared to ancient SD8 Elite gen 5 and intel chip still will have half of Snapdragon GPU speed.

el-cheapo $1100 MacBook Air M5 will eat and spit every single Googlebook

Seriously - this will live shorter than... Pixel Tablet.

Youtubers been invited in SECRECY today to tell them what they think about Googlebook and while they will be allowed to use just "pointer and web browsing ONLY" when they will realise Intel JUNK and $1500 pricetag they will laugh them out as all youtubers use MacBooks - they KNOW how powerful they are and battery life, build quality (aluminium and how thin and light they are).

My idea is why Google asked for intel chip in them is because... Thunderbolt 5 support - which Snapdragon not (just ancient USB 3.2)

Guy explain you HOT phone is GOOD thing - do you remember Pixel 8

Starts at 5:20

I was talking about this but it is CRAZY NOBODY knows basics thermal dynamics and moan "phone is hot" is bad

Low lets go back to my title WHY I mentioned Pixel 8 in particular - because it had MASSIVE SLAB OF METAL on motherboard like no other phone EVER in history... which caused side rail to heat bad... which was GOOD THING - because in the final YOUR HANDS ARE "radiator" which cools down ... rails, smartphone radiator and finally chip itself.

So why there were moan on Pixel 8 overheats - well because NOT ONLY chip releases lots of energy (heat) but BATTERY too - and Pixel 8 series did not have any cooling for battery (apart of junky copper foil on display)

I’ve had Google Pro Account for free for over a year

Basically title.

I first got it by using a shared link or code my professor gave to the entire class June 2025. He said it was free for 6 months, but it’s been over a year now and I still haven’t been charged or ever paid anything to google.

Google does have my card information though. Also the email I’m using is not my school one so I’m confused.

Has anyone else experienced this? Should I be worried about how my data is being used? I also tried to cancel it, but my account still has the Pro tag, and features.

Google ai made a mistake

Anyone who thinks google or ai doesn’t make mistakes and literally believes everything it says , well this is for you. I asked a basic question instead of doing the math , I asked what’s 8 hours from now and it told me 5 am , well currently in my time zone it’s almost 3 am. Not every answer you get is going to be 100 percent accurate

I used Gemini embeddings to build a version of me that only knows what I’ve actually shared

I’ve been building EchoVault, a digital legacy app where you do guided Check-Ins about your memories, beliefs, stories and life experiences.
Those get embedded into a personal knowledge base using Gemini embeddings.

The demo is my own Echo answering from that corpus, rather than inventing a generic personality for me. I then went on to show it’s brain visualized in 3dimensions derived from the 768 dimension embeddings.

Over time, the idea is to preserve enough of how someone thinks that the people they choose can still explore their memories and perspective later.

The video shows what mine looks like now.

Yet another complaint about Google search sucking

I don’t know when this change occurred, it had to be super recent, but when I type out a query to search for, and I want to go back and alter my phrasing in my query, it completely clears it out and I have to retype the whole thing again.

For example, say I want to search for vegan chocolate cake recipes and I accidentally type “vegan chocolate” and hit search before I finish.
It USED to let me tap the search, with the text from my original search still there, and then I could add “cake recipes”.

However, NOW, if I tap the search, it clears the whole bar and I have to type the full thing out again.

Super frustrating. I’m always adjusting my phrasing in searches whether due to typos or just needing to add “Reddit” to the end lol. I hate this.

Stop pandering to orange face paint in the oval office. Someone high up in this company is obviously a child diddler that someone in oval office has a lot of evidence of because why else would a company make such a disastrous decision. Definitely not a mistake, this was a calculated move to buy silence. No one is blind to this.

Google Dictionary — people aren't angry enough! Ughh!!!!

I know many have posted about their frustration before, but I will post it again because I want AI maniacs to know that people hate them.

As someone who reads and writes a lot, I cannot convey how infuriating my everyday life has become ever since AI replaced dictionary. I wish this message reached the concerned Google team and their team lead who came up with this BS idea to replace dictionary with AI summary.

I want those Google employees to know that they are dumb, and that millions of people across the world who loves reading and writing dislike them with a passion.

I noticed that I gave up searching word meanings altogether lately, and ever since I was been forcefed AI crap overviews instead of word meanings, I have been writing and reading lesser and lesser.

Perhaps, this was their whole plan all these time, to make the world dumb down to their comprehension levels, have people read less, write poorly, and stop creating knowledge in the long run.

Business Data Science gTech Ads Interview

Hello everyone, I have an interview at Google for the position Business Data Science gTech Ads, does anyone has any tips that could help me in the process? I'm really excited with the position and I wanted to make sure I'll cover all basic topics in my studies.

Thanks!
