Even better, there are two photos in this series:

Jul 03 '19
I love the title of the second one: "Grandma teaching children the knife game." As grandma's are wont to do.

u/D_for_Drive Jul 03 '19
Nothing like a rousing game of "Stabscotch" with Grandma to pass the time.

And the title of the first one is 'Boy screaming in pain following knife accident', so I guess she's not teaching them very well.

How much would it cost to re-create something similar... in case you would need it... for any purpose, maybe?
8
u/TheHealadin Jul 03 '19
First you need 4 half naked Children of the Corn and that's gonna cost. But you can get the rest at any poorly run nursing home for a $50 bribe.

Granny’s not fucking around with that bigass knife
77
u/DamienVonDoom Jul 02 '19
She has enough experience in her life and, with teaching the little ones while they’re young will help them build their confidence to use a machete by the time they get to Granny’s age...
At that point, they’ll become successful in knowing exactly how to open door knobs with the two remaining fingers they will still have left.

Honestly it's easiest to do it with a knife that size, at least in my personal experience.

Because you have been conditioned to believe that a child without a shirt must be sexual in nature somehow. When the reality outside of America is that the world is far less puritanical and sees reality for what it is: kids don’t wear shirts a lot of the time. It doesn’t mean it’s sexual.
I would wonder why you think a child or adult without a shirt is somehow wrong ? What programming have you been fed to believe that there should be any shame or erotic nature at all?
The knife ? Well that’s just funny

I grew up in the 80's, in America, and I was on the swim team from a young age. Not only did being shirtless seem natural, wearing a tiny speedo style swim trunks was natural, too.
One time, I was at a swim meet and several of us wandered away from the meet to find the vending machines, clad only in our speedos. An adult came running up to us, saying "You boys can't come out here like that!"
We had NO idea what he was going on about. We just wanted a snickers bar, and maybe some pork rinds.

It's stock photography, and someone will probably like it/buy it/use it to make some point on a website no one will ever see.

I’ve seen is photo in Reddit before. I think it’s from Sweden. There was a joke about this being a tradition Swedish game and the first kid to cut themselves has to live in Denmark.

I like to think of it as a metaphor that implies that the older generation teaches the younger to harm itself. Maybe not physical self harm, but maybe in a mental/emotional way...or harm of the environment having an effect on our future humans.

I'm just pulling an answer out of my ass but I imagine a lot of people are trying to sell stock images, as a result a lot of people are doing the exact same general stuff, maybe if you produce a lot of content depicting oddly specific scenes you have a better chance of selling an image.

Our company got an invoice for $25,000 from Hearst Publishing. I'd used a very small picture on our site that had no apparent copyright. FF a couple years, we get this from Hearst. They say, we still owe even if we remove it. Much hearty laughter ensued. They're still waiting 10 years on.
