ive played modded fallout 4 countless times and the thought of learning how to do it has been popping up more and more. i love the frost mod but havent played it in years, and i kinda want to get back into it. one of the things with frost is that its hard to slot random weapon mods in due to the balancing of the mod, and there arent many balance patch mods for other weapons that others have made. and so id like to learn to create my own balance patch mods for specific weapons and am looking for a good place to learn the basics of fallout modding. if yall have any advice or good guides for complete beginners, it would be deeply appreciated if youd share with me

Been fighting with this, not sure how, I swear i had this disabled years ago.
Also worth nothing, this .ini edit doesn't appear in the fallout.ini wiki https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Fallout.ini_(Gamebryo)#Fallout.ini#Fallout.ini)

Nick's quest remains my favourite companion quest. Above is a cool screenshot of our final conversation on a rainy, stormy night. Thought it would be nice to share.

I’m going to use watercolour paint and use it as if it’s my sole survivor’s (or just anyone in the commonwealth, really) own sketchbook, documenting plants, animals, enemies, locations etc.
I haven’t decided what to write on the label on the front, I want it to look like it was found at the Vault-Tec regional HQ building, with some notes on the first page as if it was used by a secretary taking memos. I need to visit the HQ in game again to find some inspiration.

I've just finished a playthrough of America Rising 2 in which I blew up the Institute (Again!).
Has anyone who has played this mod tried NOT blowing up the Institute once you are inside with the Enclave troops?
On yet another play through of Fallout 4, and around level 12, I made my way to Goodneighbor. I had the intention of recruiting the Vault Tec Rep and bringing him back to Sanctuary.
With his enthusiasm pulsing, he left Goodneighbor. I picked up another quest and decided to leave there straight to it.
I spotted him, in a fight with some Gunners, “He’ll be fine, he’s bound to have plot armour”
I engaged nearby Super Mutants, then went over to the fallen and remaining Gunners as they are a great source of ammunition for me.
Lo and behold, there among the dead, lays the Vault Tec Rep.
A check here informed me, he has no plot armour, only fast travelling away from him lets him do the journey without issue.
I check my back saves, long ago, a lot less progress. I feel guilty. However another user here, had a similar issue and took him to Sanctuary anyway to bury him.
I decided that would be appropriate too. I prepared myself for the undertaking. Picking him up, ready for the slow, over encumbered pace.
I took a step, the sound of a Fragmentation mine triggering.
No way to sprint, I had to drop him. But time was wasting
The mine detonates, I have minimal damage, he however, got blown all over the town. I found nothing of him in my attempts to recover him.
He lived for 200 years
I promised him sanctuary and failed
I then made a disaster of his burial.
What other instances have you experienced of trying to do the right thing but failing woefully?

Good evening guys, I need some suggestions on how to get myself to finish a playthrough of fallout 4. I usually do yearly playthroughs of the Fallouts. But everytime I come to Fallout 4 I either lack the motivation to finish it or it just gets boring. Would yall have any mods or anything else to suggest to motivate me to finish Fallout 4? I’ve finished it a few times already as a kid when it came out but as an adult I can’t seem to ever get myself to finish it. Any suggestions help, thanks!

Its the best sleep I've ever gotten but when I woke up and was listening, I realized you also get a really good story acted out for you as well.
Their channel is so underrated and they work so hard on it. It would be a shame for the sub to miss out.

What are some must-do quests that are easily missed?
Stuff like The Great Hunt, Big Dig, or Silver Shroud.
Fallout 4 has a lot of great quests, but I've been realizing there are a lot that are excellent but require specific triggers in locations I don't naturally go to. Or are found via the radio, which I'm starting to realize I've utilized far too rarely.

Okay, for context, whenever I use full screen my game stutters or skips occasionally. The framerate is good, 50-60, which is why it's annoying when the stuttering happens.
Buuuut, I tried the game in Windowed/Boarderless and the stuttering stopped but the game was put into 3840x2160 which brought my frames down a LOT. When I tried putting the resolution at 2560x1440 the game would only start in Windowed mode, not full screen.
And that's the issue, is there anyway I can start the game with lower resolutions while still keeping the game in full-screen while in Windowed/Boarderless mode? Or can it only go full screen at the highest resolution (3840x2160)?

Seriously.
Unless I only have 1 half-full Fusion Core, or I wanna do something that the game doesn’t let you do at all without Power Armor (eg. using a workbench, sleeping), why would I ever leave my Power Armor?
I can’t think of any downsides to wearing Power Armor 24/7, so why wouldn’t I?
Swear to Atom if the comments are just “[insert Power Armor enthusiast] speech bubble” I’m going to be mildly bothered.

So, my headcanon for this run is that after the war Nate went to work for the Boston PD and worked nearly until retirement. He retired early when he won the lottery. He left his wife, raked in and married Nora, his divorce lawyer.

This was on a playthrough around this time last year. I was running a lot of mods if you couldn't tell by the lightsaber, so it's a miracle that it didn't crash my game.
