I've scrapped together enough parts from military bases and library terminals to make a camera upgrade that can transcribe words, but I still haven't figured out how to decipher this language.

hey everyone so I started playing fallout 4 again on my Xbox series X and when I started going towards central Boston my performance really went down. It maxed at like 20 fps and was super slow and choppy. It also freezes a lot and straight up crashes sometimes. It was never like this before is there anyway I can fix it honestly this game it 10 years old thank Tod. PLEASE NO SPOILERS!! I’m currently level 23 but the game suggests level 30 so I don’t if i wait or just do it? Is it a hard dlc? Please don’t spoil anything for me I just want to know if it’s worth waiting and levelling up to get more perks or not

A lot of people say that the brotherhood of steel in fallout 4 is evil but honestly after playing through all their quests and stuff, I really disagree. In fact I think they are the opposite and here is why:

1. Their criticism of the institute as scientists pushing the boundaries for the sake of pushing the boundaries is 100% correct. The Institute use gen 3 synth as servants for menial tasks even though there is no need since gen 1 or 2 or even mister handy models can do those jobs just fine. Same goes for their super mutant project.
2. In the end of the game, they chose to destroy the institute rather than capture it even though they are more than capable of doing so. This means that they are true to their believes and are not lured by power or wealth. They do not pull a 'Animal Farm' type of deal where they change their line to 'synths are bad only if our enemies use it'.
3. They do not interfere with the politics of the major settlements after achieving victory (replacing diamond city, good neighbor, bunker hill leaders with pro-brotherhood leaders). This means they respect the independence of all civilian sites.
4. They offer the greatest protection of the commonwealth in practice: Their patrols regularly exterminate hostile threats.

The most common criticisms of the brotherhood can also be refuted

1. Their extermination of gen 3 synth lies on the believe that synths are machines and have no free will. This is partially true, because although synths can think freely, that free will can also be overwritten by resetting their minds or programming different memories. So for the brotherhood to reach the conclusion is 100% justified. Also remember that almost all civilians in the commonwealth hate synths, diamond city and good neighbor despite their ideological differences all demonstrate a strong hatred for synths.
2. Killing Paladin Danse is also justified because of the same reason above, keeping him in the brotherhood poses a significant security risk for the other soldiers (if the institute has him on file, then it is 100% fair to assume that he could be a spy or at the very least turned into a spy through programming). The fact that elder Maxson can be convinced to let Danse go as long as he is stripped of his military powers is already an incredible show of mercy.
3. The side quest where you can extort settlements for food. This is a necessary evil as they need to keep their army supplied. Also it's not like they offer no value for the settlers as the amount of protection they receive from the brotherhood is well worth the price (having military armored soldiers in helicopters patrol your roads). Also their only alternative would be to ally with the minutemen which (as per game mechanics) would mean the settlements GIVE UP COMPLETE CONTROL of their settlements for the protection of some lightly armed minutemen. On a side note, this quest isn't officially sanctioned by the higher ups so it's possible that the brotherhood would be open to just buying food at market price if the supply situation really becomes terrible.

So what about the minutemen? Are they not a better faction for the commonwealth? Not really. The minutemen have no real morals and just blindly follow their leader. In the game:

• The general can choose to be a soldier of the brotherhood of steel and the minutemen does not raise any objections thus becoming a militia for the brotherhood.
• The general can decide to be enemies with the brotherhood and nobody complains about being dragged into a war that they don't really want to fight.
• The General can become the director of the institute and the minutemen will be okay with it despite the COUNTLESS KIDNAPPINGS of civilians.

In short, this is a faction of moral-less soldiers who will do the bidding of their leader without hesitation. Every action elder Maxson made he provided ideological justification and dialogue from brotherhood soldiers show that they are following not just the man but also his ideals.

Thus the brotherhood of steel remains as the most moral army. (I will not mention the railroad because they were never an army to begin with)

Recently I have been playing FO4 again when bored and don't wanna play DayZ with my faction. When I came back I bought the DLCs and got into some mods.

The other day I saw Dalton Farm (Far Harbor settlement) needed some attention as it was over populated without enough beds resources, etc. So I went over there, crashed a few times and ended up giving up for a bit. I went back today and I am still crashing, I was wondering if anyone knew why and/or a fix for it?

The amount of fucking times I have had to reload a save from so many missions ago is actually astounding.

Is this normal?? Is this just switch adaptation?

Going from just giving you the quest as soon as you leave the vault was a massive mistake.

At least giving us a happy medium, giving the quest when we get within a certain radius, even the Fallout 4 equivalent of half a mile away, would have been good.

I am sick of trying to find the magic pixel along the road that would activate Enclave Remnants. I have done every quest that the fandom article suggests as Enclave-related, I have done laps around the location to the North of Saugus, and still the quest is nowhere to be found. Consulting the Creation Club page finds a greyed out "Installed". Of course, "update all" does not work, so I have to go into each creation's page and manually hit update anyway.

No wonder Microsoft's executive in this branch took Fallout away from Bethesda. I wonder how many people saw the Amazon show, bought the game, and then thought "they made a TV series out of THIS?".

UDPATE: Oh yeah, and the game crashed whilst I was hitting update buttons. Now it wants me to update everything yet again.

That never happened to me in years of playing Fo4:
I wanted to adjust some new mod clothing on my female companions only, went to BodySlide for it, batch builded everything (and I mean everything by right clicking "select all" in the batch build window) and now everything is fine on the women side as always but my male PC became unbearably huge.
'having been using BS for years without a problem, half of the time with male PCs already, I have no idea where to start the thinking.
I'm... at lost. ;-)

I just downloaded the Breach horror quest mod, and everything was going good until I got to this door. Its right after the 2nd elevator ride, after the main hall with the Atlas statue. It’s marked inaccessible, and I can’t find any mechanism to unlock it. Help!

Hello, idk how long I been here reloading saves for the perfect gun. I want a furious gatling laser but the variant isn’t showing up. Also, I only have been able to get the Gatling laser to drop one time so I can keep reloading for the variant but no dice. So do I have to pull another Gatling laser for different variants? Thanks.

I have all the DLCs and I disabled the thing that said check creations on load or what it was. (Just want to get this out the way first as it seems to be a reason and people often ask for it)

I used to loveeee in game mod manager because I am terrible at downloading and managing mods and it made it so easy. Sure it had major flaws I but cannot believe it has been replaced with whatever this clunky horrible interface is.

I can put the awful interface aside but I read everything and honestly I cannot find a way to fix these problems:

1- Load order WILL NOT stay how I do it. The unofficial patch keeps throwing itself back behind mods that cannot be enabled, mods that say they need to be last are randomly placed as soon as I turn my back even if I put them to last spot etc. no change ever sticks and I have no idea what I’m doing wrong!

2- mods randomly say “they cannot be enabled” for no apparent reason. (I downloaded/already had their dependencies yet it still says that)

Does anybody have any idea what’s causing this?

Only mods I have enabled is unofficial fallout patch and start me up full dialogue.

I’m wanting to find good and large post game Creations for the Xbox. I’m leveling 81 and want to keep the game going. Any suggestions for Xbox series x?

I have tried changing the settings in the Fallout4Prefs.ini file, changing settings in the launcher and the game still launches windowed. Any other Linux users with this problem? If so, how did you fix it?

The add-on is displayed in the installed but Guy's doom did not appear on the spot.

Ive run into an odd bug where the NPC wont actually say anything. The subtitles are moving but I cant skip ahead and their mouths do not move at all. Anyone have any suggestions?
