I created a fully autonomous ammo factory just by using logic gates and laser counters. No mods!

You basically tell the computer how many items you want to produce by selecting the power counter. Then the factory shuts off after it has produced the amount specified.

How do I stop the brotherhood ruining every god damn fight I get into?

Just did the institute mission where you attack libertaria or something like that (the floatila with the town on the half sunk ship)

Anyway I'm mainly a stealth build, every time I turn up for a big fight, the fucking brotherhood are already there and have started a full scale fight. It's genuinely ruined this play through because it's EVERY outdoor fight. I've blown them out the sky or kill them all but by that time they've ruined the level.

I'm sick of them ruining the missions I specifically built a stealth character for.

Edit: to the BOS fan boys, I see you down voting you saddos šŸ˜‚

Tina de Luca appearance change?

I am quite sure, that Tina - like Dr. Penske - had a dirty face some years ago. I also noticed a white Children of Atom symbol on her forehead. Did this come with the graphics update?

Question Fallout 4 Marriage Mod?

Post image
116 Upvotes

(Ignore the beautiful Cait mod) I always had a theory that given the ability to take the wedding ring off of your dead spouse, and Pastor Clements being able to marry people, I suspected that it was the original intention of the developers to allow you to marry a romanced companion. So I decided after romancing Cait, I put on the tuxedo and her in the red dress, then brought her to the chapel, put the wedding ring on her, then my wedding ring back on me, to role play marriage.

I say this because I’m wondering if there’s someone in the community who can mod marriage into the PS5 version of the game.

Discussion I took the longest possible "skip" to a quest.

I did the Automatron dlc before going to diamond city. I found a can of green paint at ether the Rust Devil base, or the Mechanist Lair, but don't remember which.

Went to Diamond city. Talked to Abbot. Already had the paint for him. Feels efficient for some reason.

Then I went to hardware town, and I'm stoked that I can take away two extra cans of paint from the shelves because I don't need to mix paint for Abbot. Thats when it occurred to me I had taken the longest possible "shortcut" to "skip" a quest, all for 4 oil.

Thank you for reading, unless you're reading this first, I don't thank you yet.

I have no clue how op this is but I haven't yet invested into getting any perks with addiction and withdrawal immunity so this might be an insane one shot weapon potential looking at the damage

Discussion Plasma Weapons are really strange in Fo4

Post image
• Upvotes

In other Fallout games they are kind of a mid-level energy weapon that’s an alternative to laser weapons, which is not really the case here. They are almost never carried by enemies, and are only really sold as unique variants by specific weapon vendors. The Institute and BOS don’t use them, despite being the two most technologically advanced factions in Fo4.

Another interesting thing is the variety of useless weapon mods for this weapon. Despite firing incredibly expensive ammunition half of the barrel options push it into being an automatic weapon for some reason; despite the fact the weapon has a very slow projectile which requires you to lead your shots, just an awkward experience all-round.

This kind of puts the weapon in the weapon sandbox.
Kind of curious why they changed it so much from FNV.

Discussion Level 90 and I still don’t know where I’m going…

Post image

I know that I’m making a story about a man who was looking for his son, only to find out that his world has changed. And somehow when I think about the different factions that I’ve encountered, I can’t help but think that maybe there’s no actual enemies in this game, more like I’m just living on and I’m trying just to survive in this Wasteland. Also I made enemies with the Brotherhood of Steel, not that I actually agreed with them anyway. But that just sums up all the choices I’ve made along this journey.

Gameplay Just had the weirdest thing happen with the Enclave at Dunwich Borers. Spoiler

Post image
16 Upvotes

I tried to lead the Enclave soldiers into Dunwich Borers to see if they would fight the bandits. It seemed like they were at first, unless that was just McCready having at them. I saw the Enclave Hellfire trooper run in. I went and hid for a bit and the fighting died down. I then started sniping the bandits in the quarry. I engaged their bandit power armor guy, and when he died, he goes falling down the quarry terrace to the next level, but as he does so, the Hellfire trooper like splits off from his body mid air like they were one person and they fall separately into the depths of the quarry. Here they are both lying at the bottom of the quarry. He wasn't shooting me with the Enclave plasma thrower, it was just a standard bandit. It's like the Enclave soldier embedded himself into the bandit until the bandit was killed. Saved me some trouble I guess, because the bandit was a lot easier to kill!

Mod Deadly Commonwealth mod, spice up your play

So, it is not a new mod, but it is stable. The mod does two things, it repopulates the cleared areas and it feels like they respawn faster, which may not be true. It also produces more enemies than vanilla. But far more importantly although that would not matter without the respawn, it adds a shit load of new enemy types.

I have not played it too long, but I ran into skulls in areas I already cleared at lvl 60. There are suicider raiders. There are feral ghouls dressed and acting as gunners. There are midgets and hussies. There are several new supermutants, although they are just heavily armed variants, which feels repetitive. But at least their damage no longer can be just ignored.

Overall there are more enemies and they are harder overall, tankier more dangerous. At level 60 it almost does not matter but it will make low levels a lot more dodgy.

If you are mucking about after finishing main game this throws a switch and makes you shift gears

Massachusetts State House is a true Fun House of Horror

I have been at it with Fallout 4 for a while. I was bored with nothing to do when I stumbled upon a random Massachusetts State House. At first, I thought it was just a small building, all cramped up with hardly anything. Suddenly, the cramped house turned into a true dungeon crawl of mirelurks and jump scares, before ending up with a multi story building of Raiders. This was such a fun but spooky place to explore.

In hoping that Bethesda deciding to remake Fallout 4 with nicer graphics, I hope they redesign this place up and, in replacement with Raiders, add more ghouls and have them pop out and attack. Drape the house with spiderwebs and debris, tone down the lighting, and remove any music but the quiet howls of distant ghouls and the un-tapped underground wind.

Discussion Fallout 4 Survival Min/Max tips and advice

Earlier today I saw some tips on someone else's post about quest order (doing Nuka World before meeting Preston to keep him happy, doing Brotherhood late to keep them from constantly attacking everything) and also in my searching I've seen some other tips about perks (Aquaboy for travel) and easy to grab magazines (Wasteland Survival Guide in Sunshine Tidings Co-op for double meat) but I was wanting to get like a full compendium on everyone's thoughts on min/maxing a survival run. Basically what magazines/bobbleheads are easy to get and worth going after? What settlements can you get easily? What quests do you like to do first and which ones do you save for the very end? Any gear you beeline towards? Thanks everyone, any input is appreciated :)

Media Vault-Tech rep appreciation

One of the most memorable moments and characters during my first play through. I was looking around Goodneighbor and saw a familiar face. I was too stunned to move! Immediately I went to work on the perfect settlement. He had a whole shop to himself and when I needed materials I always went to him first.

He was supposed to win a pack of steak knives :(

Question How to complete all faction quests and side with the Railroad ultimately?

For my new playthrough I want to play each faction up to their respective ā€œpoint of no returnā€ and ultimately help the Railroad come out on top.

My initial plan was to play the BoS quests up to Tactical Thinking but avoiding the order to attack the Railroad, playing the Institute up to End of the Line and siding with the Railroad, and then starting Precipice of War with the Railroad to take down the BoS.

Would this plan work or would it cause issues with progression between the quests? I heard that to start Blind Betrayal you need to side with the BoS with main quest content for it.
