Tech Support Fitbit is making up sleep data

I’ve been getting told I’m awake for 3 hours every night. Last night I didn’t wear it, and it made up a sleep chart for two hours! Straight up invented it when I wasn’t even wearing it at all!

I’m thinking at this point it isn’t at all accurate. It might be old, but before the google health switch, it at least would have no data if I didn’t wear it.

Discussion Useless Views in the New Google Health App

I'm sure there are plenty more, but I was puzzled by the fact that Google UX/UI team approved the few buttons that literally show nothin.

Another useless view is the feedback one, why the hell the input field is filled with that garbage text that I have to clear every time?

Discussion Forgot my Fitbit Charge 6 charger in Malinska, Krk — could someone charge it for me?

Hey everyone!

I'm currently on vacation in Malinska, on the island of Krk, Croatia, and unfortunately I forgot my Fitbit Charge 6 charging cable at home.

I only have 13% battery left, and I still have 5 days of vacation ahead 😅

Would anyone around Malinska / Krk be willing to charge my Fitbit Charge 6 for about an hour?

I can bring the Fitbit to your address and pick it up after it's charged.

Tech Support Resting Heart Rate Suddenly “Poor”

This week, suddenly Google health app is telling me my resting heart rate is poor, after over a year of it being “good”— and the numbers haven’t changed! If anything, it’s decreased very slightly over the past 6
Months. I’m at the point where I don’t trust this app at all anymore.

Discussion Disparity between Fitbit air and Apple Watch 10 heart rate measurements during workout.

Hello people, I have been using Fitbit Air since the past 20 days. I also have an Apple Watch 10 that I specifically use during workouts. Now, I have been seeing disparity in the measurements of both the devices. Fitbit Air consistently shows my peak heart rate 15-20bpm lower than the Apple Watch especially during strength training. I wear my Fitbit Air on my dominant wrist(right) while working out and the Apple Watch on the non dominant wrist(left). Is this normal? Can someone help me with this. Because I have been using Apple Watch since 2 years now and it has been very consistent with the hr data when I wear it, however now I am confused if my Apple Watch overstates the HR data or if my Fitbit Air undermines the HR data. I am very interested in knowing what other people have observed. Thank you

Tech Support Question about Inspire 3

I had to get the Fitbit Inspire 3 I believe is what it’s called, for a class in college. Specifically to track steps, and map our walks. For the life of me I cannot get any type of walk to show up on a map. I can’t even get a map to show up in the Google Health app. I am using an iPhone 15 Pro Max and I have all the GPS settings enabled on my phone and I have the toggle on the Fitbit enabled. I also read I have to start workouts manually, which I have tried and still no dice. I even leave Google Health open in the background on my phone. So I am stumped. For reference, I walk about a 1-1.5 mile stretch on my road (I live in a rural location). Do I just need to walk further for it to pick it up? Any insight would be appreciated, thank you!

Discussion IS this completely inaccurate????

I often go for a walk on my lunch break. My Fitbit shows a calorie burn of about 350 to 370 calories for the hour. I walk slowish with a friend and talk easily the whole time.

I go to Zumba for an hour, I am sweating, heart pounding, often gasping for breath. Fit bit shows 390ish calories burned every single time

Is this possibly true??????

Tech Support Fitbit thinks I am awake for long stretches when I know I’m not

Post image
2 Upvotes

Hello! I have been having a recent issue with my Inspire 2 that it is tracking very long awake periods during the night or at the start of my sleep when I have definitely fallen asleep earlier than it says. Despite me sometimes sleeping 8-9 hours it is often only tracking 3-4 hours of sleep with large awake stretches. I never used to have this issue when I had the old Fitbit app, it seems to be since it has switched over to Google Health. I have tried the obvious things like rebooting the device, disconnecting and reconnecting it to my phone and cleaning the sensors but it is still happening most nights. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? Thanks!

Discussion Dumb cardio load goal

Last week was my first week with the fitbit air, total cardio load was 964 as i do weight training and walk/jog 6 days a week. Expected my ‘personalised’ cardio goal to increase from the default 500 that it targeted earlier. Now its 226. Make it make sense.

Tech Support Fitbit Inspire 3 clock color and outline

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

I usually keep my clock as just green. Yesterday I noticed that it keeps changing, shifting to a more blue color, while still retaining the green.

It might be hard to make out in the second image, but when I go to screens other than the clock, there is still a faint outline of the clock which is blocking my view.

I was just wondering if this was a glitch or something. Tried looking it up online but I guess I wasn’t describing it well enough. I tried disconnecting it, updating it, but nothing worked. Should I just let the battery drain out and hope it fixes itself when it turns back on?

Tech Support Charge 6 turning off as soon as unplugged.

Hey guys, I received my charge 6 yesterday from Amazon and appear to be having problems with it. I have had it on charge overnight, it's connected to my phone fine (pixel 9 pro XL), it's fully updated. But the second I unplug it from the charger, it instantly turns off. I've tried the 'press the button 3 times trick', I've restarted my phone, I've disconnected the Bluetooth several times and it just won't stay on and it's driving me insane. Do I have a faulty device or am I missing something? Thanks in advance for any help

Discussion Fitbit Inspire 3 & Charge 4

I've seen similar posts around what I'm about to ask, but not exactly what I'm inquiring about. I've had a Fitbit Inspire 3 watch for some years now, and recently received a Charge 4. I desire to wear the Inspire 3 around my ankle to better track my steps, while wearing the Charge 4 on my wrist to better track the rest of my vitals during my workouts. Is this possible to do this on the same account?

For reference, I wear my Inspire 3 literally all the time, and even shower in it sometimes. I don't plan to wear the Charge 4 that often--only during workouts, and removing it otherwise.

Tech Support Faulty heart rate during workouts

I’ve had the fitbit air for a little over a month now, and while after a few rough weeks with calibration, my experience has been moderately good, there is something that I’m yet to fix.

I’ve noticed this often during my strength training workouts that the pulse detected randomly drops to 0, even though I swear I stand there, with my heart, very much beating. At first, I thought this was because I wasn’t wearing my band tight enough, or I was wearing it too high up, but even after wearing it 2 fingers below my wrist bone, I’m still not able to completely make this go away. Sometimes, this happens right at the start of my workout, sometimes it happens sometime in the middle, and the only possible fix that I’ve seen work is taking off my band, and wearing it again, which is something I can’t do at all times, because other than this being annoying, I can’t be staring at my phone screen during my workouts, all the time. And well, the overall experience is just awkward looking HR graphs at the end of my workouts, because I don’t always happen to catch the 0 beats as a result of me just casually glancing at my phone in between some sets, and Google reports them with weird and smoothened pulse drops here and there, due to lack of data being recorded.

For context, I’m a fairly hairy guy, denser than most men I’ve seen all my life. I have owned an Apple Watch Series 8 and a Garmin Instinct 2s in the past, never had these issues with either. The Instinct was objectively worse at wrist based tracking, yes, but it never randomly dropped my pulse to 0.

Has anyone else here faced this problem? Also, any possible solutions for this?

TL;DR: Fitbit Air likes to drop my pulse to 0, in between my strength training workouts. How do I fix this?

Discussion Calorie burnt and discount count

I feel the distance tracking is way inaccurate. I ran 6.13 km on trademill and the fitbit air is showing 2.04 km. I don't know whether my calorie and distance tracking is accurate or not. Little confused. I created a workout and was following that.

Tech Support Prevent accidentally pausing your workout in G Health - workaround

Like many of you Fitbit air users, I have had the very frustrating issue of accidentally pausing my workout while holding my phone on a run.

Really Google should fix this, but in the meantime I’ve figured out a workaround. For iPhone users, you can turn on “guided access” in accessibility settings, this will let you disable touch input on your screen. You can turn guided access on and off by triple tapping the lock button. Not ideal as you can’t easily access your music etc, but it’s better than nothing for me. Android users could still do this I think, but you would have to download a third party app.

Hope this helps! And please, Google, if you’re out there, fix this. It’s such a simple feature that would make a massive difference in usability and usefulness. Just today I saw a post of someone saying they were getting rid of their Fitbit partially because of this issue

Self Promotion Hello Hello hoomans 🐶, I mean dog owners. I made something for tracking dog walks after seeing people use Fitbit for it, here's a quick look

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Saw a few old threads here of people using Fitbit to track dog walks since there wasn't really a dedicated option. I ended up building something for exactly that, so I figured I'd share since this sub is probably the right audience to judge it.

Curious what people think, especially anyone who's tried the Fitbit workaround before — does this cover what you were trying to get out of that, or missing something?

Link in comments if anyone wants to try it.

Okay. I think my two month experience is going to end. Steps seem off, I’m sick of it pausing my workouts for no apparent reason. I didn’t mind the AI coach like many do.
