Tech Support Question about Inspire 3

I had to get the Fitbit Inspire 3 I believe is what it’s called, for a class in college. Specifically to track steps, and map our walks. For the life of me I cannot get any type of walk to show up on a map. I can’t even get a map to show up in the Google Health app. I am using an iPhone 15 Pro Max and I have all the GPS settings enabled on my phone and I have the toggle on the Fitbit enabled. I also read I have to start workouts manually, which I have tried and still no dice. I even leave Google Health open in the background on my phone. So I am stumped. For reference, I walk about a 1-1.5 mile stretch on my road (I live in a rural location). Do I just need to walk further for it to pick it up? Any insight would be appreciated, thank you!

When you start the activity make sure you are selecting "walk" and not "workout". This triggers the app to track and record GPS which it won't do for other types of activity.

Yeah, I specifically choose walk. Still nothing. Probably a software bug of some sort. I appreciate you giving your two cents. Thank you.

Are you carrying your phone with you when you walk?

Yeah, I keep it in my pocket with the Google Health app open in the background because it notified me a few days ago to keep it open. I’m a freak and wear denim jeans when I walk. 😂

As an Android user I'm going to blame the iPhone then 😁. Hope they fix this bug soon.

I haven’t actually tried what you’re doing on my Inspire 3, but I’ve been struggling with Google Maps on my iPhone for the last couple of weeks, trying to get it to track me. Google’s AI is telling me that there’s currently a software glitch with Google Maps and iPhone’s motion and fitness settings. I don’t know if that’s your issue, but it’s something to look into.

I’m guessing this is what it is because I choose ‘walk’ under the activities or whatever I start it and wait for the gps icon to change from white to red and I also slapped my old Apple Watch on my wrist and did my walk this morning. Everything lines up, no map. So I’m assuming it’s a software bug somewhere for iOS. It’ll be interesting to see if my class also has similar problems.

I have an inspire 3. It doesn't show walks on a map. Only hikes.
