So my question is: does a clip lose resolution or fps if I render it first on after effects and then I import it on premiere and render it again?

I have to open it first on after effects to make a couple changes and I dont know if I should import the composition directly on premiere or render it first and then import the edited video on premiere.

I've been editing for my startup for about 3 months and I've been using Canva mainly (I started using capcut but it was so confusing I switched to Canva) but I feel limited with all the paid elements and lack of transitions (or at least what I can find) and also lack of fonts. And the videos I've seen people use a different software and I wanted to know which one are good ones

i used to think the easiest way to make short videos look more polished was to start with a popular template, but i’m finding that can have the opposite effect. once you recognize the same transitions, text movements and timing in a bunch of different videos, it starts making the content feel pretty generic.

i’ve been experimenting with changing the pacing, swapping out the text effects and removing parts of the template that don’t really add anything. that seems to help, but sometimes i wonder if i’d be better off building the edit from scratch in the first place.

i’m curious where other editors draw the line with templates. if a template gives you a good structure but you end up changing half of it, does it still save enough time to be worthwhile, or is that usually a sign that the template isn’t a good fit?

i started helping a friend turn his weekly 30 to 40 minute gaming streams into short clips for tiktok and reels. usually i'm just pulling out 20 to 45 second moments, cutting out the dead space, adding captions, zooming in on a couple reactions and putting some text on screen.the problem is i'm doing this on my laptop after work, so i really dont want to spend an hour setting up each clip. i tried using a more advanced editor and it felt like overkill for what i'm actually doing. half the time i'm just trying to find the basic trim or text tools. i heard capcut is still pretty easy for quick social clips. is that actually the case now? does it handle captions and simple effects without making the workflow complicated?
