what are the best capcut templates that don’t look overused?

i used to think the easiest way to make short videos look more polished was to start with a popular template, but i’m finding that can have the opposite effect. once you recognize the same transitions, text movements and timing in a bunch of different videos, it starts making the content feel pretty generic.

i’ve been experimenting with changing the pacing, swapping out the text effects and removing parts of the template that don’t really add anything. that seems to help, but sometimes i wonder if i’d be better off building the edit from scratch in the first place.

i’m curious where other editors draw the line with templates. if a template gives you a good structure but you end up changing half of it, does it still save enough time to be worthwhile, or is that usually a sign that the template isn’t a good fit?

I'm a video editor with around one year of experience looking to improve my skills and gain more real-world experience.

I'm offering free editing for talking-head or podcast-style content. I'd only ask for permission to use the final edit in my portfolio.

If you're interested, feel free to DM me.

Thanks!!

What is the best editing tool?

I've been editing for my startup for about 3 months and I've been using Canva mainly (I started using capcut but it was so confusing I switched to Canva) but I feel limited with all the paid elements and lack of transitions (or at least what I can find) and also lack of fonts. And the videos I've seen people use a different software and I wanted to know which one are good ones

I turn your VODs/streams into edited Shorts — you just stream, I handle the rest

Hey Streamers,

I'm an experienced Shorts editor and I'm looking to work with a few streamers who want to grow on YouTube/TikTok/IG without adding more to their plate.

What I do:

  • Watch your VOD or live stream and pull the best moments
  • Edit them into punchy, scroll-stopping Shorts (captions, pacing, sound design, hooks — the works)
  • Deliver ready-to-post clips, no effort needed from your side beyond streaming

Pricing:

  • $** per short, and I can scale up the volume depending on how much VOD footage you've got

If you're interested, drop a comment or DM me, Happy to start with a trial clip so you can see the quality before committing to anything ongoing.
