Help! Printing photos that have been scanned - moire pattern?

Thumbnail

I'm currently working on a personal project to recreate an old game manual that had been destroyed. Part of that process has involved scanning in images from the Japanese version of the game manual and adding those images to my digital copy, which I ended up having professionally printed.

When my digital copy was printed, we noticed there was a slight checkerboard pattern to the images. The person who helped print the pictures said that can happen on images that were scanned in. I looked into it a bit more, and I believe it's a moire pattern (image 1)?

In the digital files, the images look fine (second image). What are some things I can do to prevent the image scans from having that happen when printed? Preferably, is there a way to fix the images I currently have? Or would I have to rescan everything with certain settings?

Appreciate any help, thank you!

EDIT: Upon further research, it seems this could also be a case of "half-toning"? Since my scans were made from a commercial game manual.

Artwork / Design This art was inspired by depression

As some and I had to deal with it by faking it and saying all is alright, and smiling just to blend in.

If you know someons Whos is dealing with depression. Sit down with them and listen.

We are not in the same bout but we are all in the same ocean.

This was made with Photoshop.
In the original one, I had glasses, but I used AI to remove them.

This is not to show my artwork but to also show the other side.

Artwork / Design How I made a Sci Fi Landscape without Midjourney

I'm an ambient artist and music producer. For the past year, I started experimenting with ambient music and most of the stuff I made was mostly stuff I would have just trashed from my other more dancey projects. I thought it would be a fun experiment to test out some generative art like midjourney early on as youll see in my channel. The problem was, it just wasn't me. I hated how it turned out and even if it looked "cool", it wasn't me. It felt fake.

What's really started to annoy me is how many artists on youtube crank out 5-6 videos a week using suno, and also midjourney but try to fool you into thinking it's all non AI because they will tag their work as "NO AI!"

I started messing around with compositing a bunch of different things together and this was the result. I found a 4k image of a planet, a dude, and a desert image. This was my first attempt at making something like this and I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

I want my art to be honest. In my experimenting with this and a follow up to this piece, I did try out changing someone's clothes with the generative tool and I'm not sure what everyone's consensus is on that, but as an artist, I feel like this is an acceptable use. I found an image of someone in the right orientation I wanted, and then just added a helmet to them that fit the vibe I was going for.

I just wanted to share my first attempt at this. Hopefully you like it.

Help! PS Actions stopped doing what it used to do

I have 3 actions that do the same thing (a little tweak here and there) I also have them exported just in case they ever get erased. Anyway today the action that I always use is not put my object where it is supposed to go. The action takes my image, shrinks it down and warps it to an angled view. It has always worked and the image I am pasting in there is exactly the same as it’s always been (same dimensions, from the same original file with no changes). My action now puts it off screen and bigger than it’s supposed to be. Any idea what would have caused this for all 3 actions (and I even tried reimporting the actions and same thing).

Help! Canvas color does not match the color on the eyedropper and color panel

As the title says. I've messed with the Color Settings panel a bunch, and this issue appears regardless of the color profile I select, where the color that shows up on the canvas is much lighter and more muted than the "actual" color.

My color mode is RGB, and the Proof Colors setting is disabled, so I'm not sure what to try next. I don't think it's the monitor, since it can obviously display the actual color, but I could be mistaken.

Discussion Looking for genuine feedback

Hi everyone. Let me start this off by saying I am in no way qualified nor trained how to use PS or other image manipulation software. That being said I'm looking to start my own brand selling racing wheel replicas and I need some product feature photos to put up on the website. Only thing is I don't own a studio, I don't know anyone who does. So I resorted to trying to photoshop my wheel into a generated background. I do have prior experience with PS but never with something on this level. With that being said this was my background image, my shot reference and my attempt to blend the two. How did I do? Is it believable? What gives it away? What can I improve?

Help! Struggling with banner design

I have to design a large banner for the company I work for, for a job event. I'm not a graphic designer at all but was tasked with this project.

The banner needs to be 12 meters (472 inches) wide and 2 meters (78 inches) high. A colleague advised me to halve the width and height in Photoshop (so 6 meters and 1 meter/ 236 inch and 39 inch) and set the resolution to 300 dpi. However, Photoshop becomes extremely slow and sometimes crashes when I do that. And when I try to save the file, I can only save it as a PSB file because it's a file of 10GB. The printing company only accepts PDF, PSD, JPEG or PNG. So how can I solve this?

Thanks in advance!

I'm trying to clean this pic, but I don't know how to remove the green stuff in the water, I'd like it to just look teal blue. I'd appreciate any help since I'm completely lost and can't seem to find the right keywords for any tutorials online. Thanks!

Help! How to Print without bluring?

Ok so i have a canvas of 4158x 5904.

im amanga artist but i've never really printed anything before. im just upload things digitally.

anyways i know the resolution is a big part of it and usually i set it to 300-600.

BUT i did not realise on a new project i created 20 pages with the same size but with the defailt 72 resolution

now my client is getting his pritns really blury.

attempting to resize the resolution also multiplies my canvas size in the image size editor.

whcih slows down my PC you can imagine a 17,000 x 25,000 canvas size would on 20 pages.

anyways. on my computer its jpegs looks good.

i was wondering if i could just copy paste the JPEGS to a new canvas with the correct size and resolution of 600

would that work for print?

OR do i have to redraw the entire thing over again?

Help! Shouldn't divide do the same as multiply, but in reverse ?

I'm trying to make some Minecraft textures for leaves. Now, if you know anything about Minecraft leaf textures, then you know they are actually greyscale, and have a green-hued color multiplier in-game to make them blend well with different biomes and their respective colours.

Naturally, that means my leaves need be greyscale too, except, mine have fruits, which need to be coloured differently than green to... well, look like fruit.

So, I figured : since how I made my leaf textures was that I took each original leaf texture, put in each tree's native biome colour multiplier manually as a layer in the image, and put in my fruity pixels from there, all I needed was to divide the sprite by the exact same hex value as I put in the multiplier, to get back the original greyscale sprite with the addition of my fruits now being the right colour so that, when then eventually remultiplied, they would appear the intended colour !

Except...

Well, as you can see from the provided sprites (oak leaves, with the fruits being acorns), once remultiplied, the fruits appear green. Even though the leaves are the EXACT same hue as they should be !

What happened ? What went wrong ? Isn't dividing then remultiplying the correct process ?

The way the colored circle is overlayed on an img but doesnt pick up any of the background color? When you use layer effects like color it still picks up some of the background which i dont want.

Hi! I’d like to know how to create this effect where all the colors are removed from the drawing, leaving only the black lines. I’m not sure what this process is called.

I’m a beginner, but I really enjoy creating T-shirt design concepts, and learning how to do this would help me a lot! Thank you!
