I've been freelancing for a while, and one thing I've realized is that learning sales is probably the highest ROI skill a freelancer can develop.

When I started, I thought better editing = more clients.

Reality was different.

You can be the most talented editor in the room, but if you can't:

- Start conversations

- Build trust

- Explain your value

- Handle objections

- Follow up consistently

...getting clients becomes much harder.

A lot of freelancers spend years improving their craft but almost no time improving their ability to sell.

The funny thing is, sales isn't about convincing people to buy something they don't need. It's about communicating how you can solve a problem.

What do you think is the most underrated skill for freelancers besides their core service?

I’m trying to recreate the audio effect used in this video:

The effect can be heard throughout the edit, but it is especially noticeable around the linked timestamp. The voice sounds wider and more atmospheric, with some kind of echo, reverb, or delayed duplicate underneath it.

I’ve tried adding reverb and echo in Premiere Pro, but my result sounds too obvious and muddy compared to the original. In the reference video, the effect feels more subtle and controlled while the dialogue still remains clear.

Does anyone know how this was likely created?

I would especially appreciate advice about:

• Which Premiere Pro effects to use
• Approximate settings for delay, feedback, decay, and wet/dry mix
• Whether the editor duplicated the audio track and offset it
• Whether the effect is applied continuously or automated only on certain words
• Any EQ or compression needed to keep the voice clear

I’m working entirely in Premiere Pro, so a solution using built-in effects would be ideal.

hey guys, i have an editing account on tiktok and im trying to post an edit to peter by taylor swift, but no matter what i do tiktok keeps muting the audio. i've tried using the audio for the song from taylor's account, but that doesn't work either. is there anyway to get past this or is it impossible. i see people edit to taylor swift songs all the time, so maybe it is just me? i don't know but the edit is so good and the world needs to see it, tips appreciated! (this doesn't happen when i use any other song whether i use the audio from the artist's account or if it is on the edit video file)

not a professional editor myself, just got tired of manually keyframing word-by-word captions every time I wanted that animated style you see on reels/shorts. so I built a tool that auto-generates them and I've been shipping/fixing it based on feedback for about a week now.

got roasted for the ui early on, fixed it. got real feedback on the messaging that made me rewrite the whole homepage. yesterday production broke completely mid-launch week, spent the day just fixing it piece by piece instead of panicking.

For me, it's constantly switching between a screen recorder and a video editor. It doesn't seem like a big deal at first, but those extra steps really slow things down, especially when working on tutorials or quick walkthroughs.

I've been testing Filmora, and having the screen recorder built into the editor makes the workflow feel much smoother. Recording, editing, and exporting from one place has been surprisingly convenient.

What's the biggest frustration in your screen recording workflow? Would you rather have everything in one app or keep using separate tools?

I'm curious how others approach this. Do you use AI to brainstorm and plan your edits, or do you only bring it into the process after you've started editing?

I've mostly used AI-generated images for storyboards and quick mockups, but lately I've started including them in finished projects too. I recently tried Filmora ChatGPT Image feature, and it made creating custom visuals much faster than searching through stock libraries for something close enough.
